Even though it will take longer than 20 minutes it is the creativity for me sis! It will still cut the time down some!! Usually medium size takes me about 2-3 hours alone, usually have my husband help me. Lol

I most definitely will try this when I take down my box braids but with a larger comb, conditioner and water. Because it always takes me longer than 8 hrs to take mine down because of my hair type and a lot of hair on my head.

Okay this didn’t take me 20 minutes but honestly it took me 4 hours to take out my smedium knotless braids. This hack definitely cuts a lotttt of time!
It take me an hour or 2. I be moving fast lol.
I get small feed ins. I usually take down the middle all week and pull in a bun until I have 2 rows on the perimeter and handle that on the weekend. I can't be bothered to sit 6 hours to remove my braids.

I took down my braids yesterday after having them in for 1 month and 2 days . My daughter said that they still look good which they did , but it was time to take them down, she did a good job . Kids helped me so it took 2 and half hours.
I guess this is my sign to take my braids out tonight. I was already thinking about it but now I might do it

I never braided my hair before until this year and the first time I took it out it took me 9 hours lol I feel like this brushing them out technique will really help this time! Thank you for sharing ❤
Haven't taken these current box braids out. But my previous ones I got out quick. The real hack is to french braids the braids. Two french braids for smedium knotless. Then I cut, lower than I needed and unbraid, and use the comb for each of the three braided sections on each side. Took be under 90 minutes. Your welcome. ☺
That one braid at the back in the end got me 😂😂😂
I usually take my back down and twist it and then tuck it under a ponytail. It stops the headaches I get from the dead hair. The weight of 100 strands adds up daily and you don't even know
crying girl cause the fact it takes 7 hours just to get my braids but it takes me a whole day to take them out is insanity 😱😱😱
This weekend my started off shoulder length now mid back length braids are coming out. Will try this method.

I have braids to calves , med. my hair is to my butt of my own. One thing I do is put coconut oil on tops to let soak so easier to comb out when braid is gone and just pull oil through braids so it’s slick to unwind. Used to take me 5 hrs w oil 3.5

I'd be very interested to see how it works for you if you used a much wider tooth comb like the original video did. Also some oil and/or water for lubrication. Just some thoughts after spending hundreds of hours trying different things on my daughter's hair.
I never thought to use a comb and detangling brush to pick out the ends during the takedown
I have to set aside a whole day for the prcoess. Its take down/detangle/ wash and style day!
My braids takes like 2 hours to take down. Not bad since they usually take like 5 to finish. I usually get mini's since my hair is thick and kinky. It's a relaxing time no lie

That's how I have been taking my braids down for years. It is quick but not 20 minutes in my experience
Since I'm a child, I have smaller and faster hands and my moms. So it is pretty easy for me to take out my braids. For me it has to take 40 to 30 minutes to the max
luckyyyy, usually takes me like 6hrs.
For box braids girl about 1 hour it depends how big there are or you take breaks for locs I takes about 24 hours cause I take breaks on top of breaks … box braids are easy !
It took me 6 hours, I also had butt length box braids, I wasn't going to risk cutting my hair LOL . So one by one I unravel them.

Took me less than two hours to take down 24in long, medium/small braids. My real hair length is layered but my longest strands at the bottom reach my lower back.
It takes me 2 days (on and off) to lose my hair, maybe more 😭

I have had mine for 4 and a half months. It's a record. I just perm the roots. I know it's crazy but I treat by braids like my own hair. About to deep condition!

Use a bigger combination with bigger braids. [Wider teeth]. Also use a warm water and cheap conditioner mix to saturate the braids adding more slip.

I think the method could work if your hair is really short and you have a very specific hair texture I think the thickness of your braids also matters. If only this could work for all braids😂

There’s a tool called the unbraider made for this works better than a normal comb and would be done quicker
It's been a while, bout 6-8 hrs w/breaks 🤩 but I use an oil spray to lubricate the hair

Let me tell you taking out braided hair is a full-time job on its own! When I go to the salon, it takes them four hours to put in my braids. every time I go to take them down on my own it takes me about two hours sometimes two hours and 30 minutes. The last time my roommates car had broken down and he asked if I could give him his girlfriend a ride to Walmart. I was in the middle of taking out my box braids, but I still took them to the store. I’m literally walking around the store while taking out the rest of my box braids 😂😂

This is not new just depends on the size of the braids for it to work out and the shorter you can cut the hair first will determine how long it takes.
My box braids take me 2 hours to remove, it’s based off how fast you move when doing them tbh
