I agree with testing from short approaches. Standing starts are almost irrelevant since joint angles used are significantly different to the event. Very unlikely athletes can produce surprising results.
Agreed... I was surprised that the tests employed did use a standing start... it was good though to have comparators and also coaches who could, in their experience, give an indication as well as to "what a distance was worth in the real world."
Absolutely agree with adding a run on. In addition to being much more relevant, the 'feel' of executing the movements while in motion is very different and should be prioritized. PS. Johnathan seems to strike too much on the front of his foot at max velocity. Shouldn't he be trying to be a bit more flat- footed?
How has your experience been with the Tx Touch Pro so far? Does it always manage to record the times? I often experience missed reps, wherein for some reason or the other, I get no recording when using Tx Touch Pro. I am wondering if you may have some thought about it or if you also experience missed times when using the Tx Touch Pro.
It does happen from time to time. However, it seems to happen with the same athlete so it may be somehow down to the way they are pressing and releasing the button. I tend to do more fly runs than starts so I don't have so much data as it were for a direct comparison ... but as said it has happend on a few occasions. All the best
@@Johnshepherdtrackcoach Really appreciate your response and time! Many thanks! I train on my own and have tried everything from changing the battery to waiting for a few seconds longer while pressing the button to placing the Touch Pro a bit wider than shoulder width apart, but all in vain. It still misses about 50% of the time.
Its really helpful, ThankQ so much for sharing video
