I was first in Labadee in 1988. At that time is was very rural and nothing like when we returned in 2016. I understand they did a lot more work since our last visity.

Surprisingly they offer us barbecue instead of traditional Haitian cuisine which is some of the best dishes I’ve had. That needs to change. If we wanted barbecue we’d stay in America

U won't believe it. I'm from the north part of Haiti not far away from Labade and Cap- Haitian. U just have to keep going a little bit west and you'll find another great beach called Chouchou Bay. Later on you'll find another one called Fond -de- Lagrange. Both are part of the Borgne District. That's where I'm from. I was also living in Cap-Haitian For some time. Cap- Haitian is separated to Labadee by the mountain and a very few miles. I still didn't know what lt looks like. Thk u very much for this video. It's very informative. 👍✌️

We have been to Labadee only once before, but it was a couple years ago. We treated it as a relaxing beach day and mostly lounged around. I'm excited to go back and do some of the excursions they offer. Thanks for the walk through it's a great fresher on the layout of the area and activities.

Hi Darla, when I was there in April, I also had a chance to stop at CocoCay on the same itinerary. It was quite a contract between the two, but Labadee makes you feel like are somewhere more exotic. While they might offer different features and amenities, most of the Bahamian islands tend to look the same.

  • @florencelissadetelfort2450

FYI,You will be so surprised to see the other side of the resort. There are beautiful mansions and more white sandy beaches. All cruise destinations in the caribbean islands are the exclusivity of the cruise ships; locals are not allowed unless they are employed by the cruise ship companies. These resort areas have become the private properties of the cruise companies while they are still under contract, therefore they can restrict access to the resort areas. It is the same policies in all destinations.

There are also dozens of “locals” trying to sell you something. I am not talking about paying for just drinks…NO! You want to SIT by the water on the beach FEE (and it’s a hefty fee -for 2 loungers with “cabana umbrella” $134.00. You want to ride the coaster? $39.00 PER PERSON PER RIDE. zip line? $100 per person per ride. You want to do the WATER SLIDE….$FEE As I said, there is a FEE for everything! And the only thing that is “free” is the food and let’s just say school cafeteria food AT BEST. I do not mind paying for Quality food and experiences, but this just felt like a huge rip off.
