Wealth, judgement comes This is how they do business When you have nothing left to give them, then they come back Take that as a promise through the years There is no one with a thought that is clear Are you watching me now? I have a weapon in my home, in the quiet house You leave the town, the country, never to return My hand can steal the light later The mirror is angled so you can see, snow and bills falling I dance silently, only two steps to the right then left You can't take it any more But if you walked past me in the town where we were Before I left, our hearts would have lit up the street then Wealth, the judgement comes. This is how they do business When you have nothing left to give, they come back. Take that as a promise through the years There is no one with a thought that is clear
Hi Mate, I love the idea that katatonia's songs have already absorbed you into their universe and there will be no coming back from that, I have been listening to them for 20 years and no other band has managed to top them. You can warm up on their discography, they have a new album coming early this year. I recommend unfurl, burn the remembrance, teargas, journey through pressure, undo you, first prayer, I can go on and on when it comes to katatonia.
Hey! I am very happy to see someone with the same love for this band as me from the first Note on. You will never leave this! There is another suggestion from me: Please listen to The Ocean - Devonian/Nascent It's a Track from a German Post/ Progressive Metal Band with Jonas Renkse as Guest Vocalist. These Guys are extremely great and talented and their musical output is superb.
Talk about the ability to project emotion, Vakaren is the proof you don’t need to understand it to feel it. What an amazing song... I’m endlessly searching for a purchasable track so I don’t have to listen to it only through RUclips.
@@nilsboeckmann418 Yeah, unfortunately its not that easy. The special edition available in the states has a different bonus song. I believe the Russian and Japanese special editions have Vakaren. Spending 60-70 bucks to get one of those versions in 2020 is silly, there has to eventually be a digital download for $1...
I had never heard either of those tracks! Thank you. You should check out "In the White" from their Sanctitude live album. Also "Chrome", a song that'll be running around in your head for a while if you're anything like me. Thanks again!
Rush is my alltime fave band and King's X is another great one. We have alot of the same tastes I am also 60 yrs old. Love Priest, Scorps, Dokken, Opeth and of course Katatonia.
We do man. I'm with you on Rush. King's X has always been in my top 3. Dokken was great! so underrated, because people think of hair metal? Priest is my 1st love, and always enjoyed the Scorps as well.
I can't tell what's best about katatonia, the band only playing exactly only the notes they need to, or Jonas having the perfect brooding cleans. Either way we win.
I've been discovering Sleep Token through a couple reactions today and going to have to do a deep dive now. Gives me some melancholy with gorgeous vocals and knowing when to crank up the tempo, not full of instrumental wanking (i love dt, it's not a negative! ). Keep an eye out for any of their recommendations.
Now having listened to about 85% of their music i can settle on a Sleep Token suggestion to throw into the pool. Higher. Seems like a great representation of the format that they utilize so well, but not every song. There's prog, there's post rock, there's pop, hardcore. The building into layers that crescendo into head numbing banging at times. Coldplay meets katatonia and deftones? Hard to box in. Einar Solberg has some competition in vocals!
More Katatonia gems to check out: In The White, Lethean, The One You Are Looking For Is Not Here, Omerta, Journey Trough Pressure, Teargas (the Sanctitude version), Unfurl, Sold Heart...
Hi, first of all, thanks for your videos and very good comments. Of course this band is special to me, and loved to listen to both tracks. Perhaps a little comment on the bonus tracks. Those are available in a limited edition from Japan.
You can´t go wrong with Katatonia, as I said. I would strongly recommend "The Night Subscriber" my favourite from them at the moment. Also Tear Gas since its brilliant in "sanctitude" as well as in the "normal" version. have a good one and stay safe and I hope the hassle with the flood is over for you.
@@sonicallydisruptive very true, but their The great cold distance album was their best commercial succes. They even had a few shows here in Europe when they played the album in entirely. That thing was absolutely gorgeous. More classical tracks from them are Help me dissapear, Saw you drown and Criminals. Those are literally amazing songs, they worth a listen. And yes, i m glad you like them so much, they are something else when it comes to music. Jonas is a good friend of Mikael, Opeth s vocalist, i literally dont get how, in my opinion so close people could never get a bad album, lol😂😂
@@sonicallydisruptive also, the last fair deal gone wrong is another amazing album. The music gives me a Silent hill vibe and from what i know, it s very accurate since Akira (the composer for Silent hill) is apparently a Katatonia fan, how great is that, lol😂😂

The Night Subscriber is one of my favorite tracks, off of one of my favorite albums ever. So I can't do the song because I know it. But so good!!
Great reaction, for your next Katatonia try New Night or Decima next. Two awesome and emotional songs.
Anathema - Flying
Are you familiar with Porcupine tree or Anathema?
Porcupine Tree, yes! Amazing. Haven't listened to Anathema. I'll check them out.
