Hello! Just letting you know, in another Moonswatch homage by SKMEI (SKMEI 1982) I find that the Sunon PE50 DO support calibration of the 1/10 and second hand. You need to pull the crown to 2nd position and presses the start/reset button to adjust them accordingly
Yes you can calibrate (reset to zero) the 1/5 large second hand and the 30 minute counter by pulling the crown to 2nd position and using pushers. Thanks!
PE50 does not have 1/10 seconds. It has 24 hour time at 2 o'clock, running seconds at 6 o'clock and 30 minute counter at 10 o'clock. Large second has is 1/5 counter for chronograph/tachymeter. You are able to reset/calibrate the large second hand and 30 minute counter.
I didn't read through all the comments or whatever but if the sub dials are not aligned they can actually be adjusted using the crown position and the cronograph pushers
I have many PE50 movement watches. They are not the most accurate but are still ticking. Hopefully you get one that is running slightly fast and not slow!
@@mtbbiker6401 Thanks man. I mean for the price, its not the worst thing ever. Hell, if its broken, it should be fixable unlike the original Moonswatch
Not sure. The closest thing I can find that might be a possible replacement is the Seiko VK68 or Miyota 6S30 but I can't find any specifications on the PE50 regarding hand sizes, dial feet position, stem height, etc.
@@rmiranda8592 VD53 does not have correct subdial positions. VD53 has subs at 3,6,9 not 2,6,10 like Moonswatch. Also VD53 has small second chrono hand. I don't know the specifications of the PE50 in terms of dial feet position, hand sizes, stem height, etc to know if there might be a direct replacement.
It would need to be a VK68 for the correct dial layout. Honestly I don't know if it will fit. I can't find any specifications or drawings of a PE50 online to check against a VK68. You would need to know the diameter, hand sizes, stem height, etc to see if it's a direct replacement. I doubt it. I believe that many of the Sunon movements are closer to Miyota copies.
Hey my watch chrono works when I remove the back case(plastic), but when closed the chrono hand doesn't move. What could be the issue. Watch keeps the time perfectly though.
I suspect there is a problem with the movement holder. There is usually a plastic ring that helps center the movement in the case. You can see the white ring at 6:40 in the video. It also has the plastic arm that secures the battery in this example. My guess would be something is interfering with the chrono pushers, either the movement holder (ring) or the case back itself. For the watch in this video, the movement holder is also responsible for activating the chronograph. The case pushers push part of the movement holder which then pushes on the actual movement to start and stop the chronograph. The chrono pushers do not directly push on the movement. Make sure the movement holder is properly seated. Maybe that might help.
@@mtbbiker6401 You are right, the case back seem to be the issue, i saw the movement itself didn't fit well( i believe it's a defective watch sent to me by the seller as i can see dried glue allover the case back and on the watch sides and movement itself looks weirdly placed.) I filed the case back where there is a small space or opening that goes on to the chrono pusher. After that the chrono button works perfectly. Thanks a lot for your reply.
yes still working. I honestly don't wear it since I have several other Moonswatch replicas. This watch has metal case but I prefer the lighter plastic cases of the Moonswatch replicas.
@@pertallen8134 Unfortunately nothing upcoming. I did have a review video of one of my Moonswatch replicas but decided to take it down. If you are interested in homage watches, I would look at Pagani. Of course so much can be found on AliExpress.
Yes, the subdial at 10 o'clock is a 60 minute counter for the chronograph. The subdial at 2 o'clock is a 24 hour hand time. It's not adjustable but moves with the main hour hand but in 24 hour rotation instead of 12 hour rotation. On this watch it's printed as 12 hours but that is not correct. The small hand is also not lined up properly with the main hour hand.
Sorry I have no idea about the reliability of the movement. The good news is the case can be opened and the movement replaced (unlike the Moonswatch). I've seen the movements available for $10 usd so very cheap. Considering it's a $30 watch, it's basically disposable when it fails unless you choose to replace the movement.

Tenho um skmei cronografo ha mais de 5 anos maquina sunon ..ate agora nao deu problema .!
Good news. I find they are not very accurate for a quartz. Hopefully run fast and not slow. Is your skmei accurate time?

That is correct. The chronograph hands (center 1/5 second and minute register) can be recalibrated using the crown and pushers.
Did anyone has the Sunon PE50 movement for over a year? How does it hold so far?
