It makes me so angry that this knowledge has been suppressed and hidden from so many who are suffering who want to get clean. And in many cases, like my cousin’s, big pharma, doctors and dentists are to blame for being so quick to dose out oxy. Her nightmare began with dental work.

It was the most memorable moment i would love to relive. Oh and when i got out the shower somehow the ceiling was soaked and the floor 😂 then i broke a glass object trying to clean the mess and everything slowly went crappy cuz my brain started panicking being naked with water and glass everywhere 😂 great times. Pulled what I figured was 3 or so grams out of the bag and proceeded to lift off to space. Was a wild, wild experience. Gnarliest I had had up to that time. The next day I weighed what was left in the bag and realized I had eaten between 8 and 10 grams. My guy always hooks it up fat, so it may have been more. Zero regrets and it actually opened me up to macro or "heroic" doses. Definitely do not recommend for certain situations though. Good times... 😁

    Necessary, but not sufficient.
    I have a friend who is fond of saying, “Magic is just science we don’t understand yet”. I think that is an enlightened perspective on magic and science. Legitimizing both.
    And, I think it is still a limited perspective. On both.

    I saw the law coming and taught myself how to grow. Started with B+ and so far have graduated to Golden Halo, Golden Teacher, Pink Buffalo, BMeenies, P.E. and JMF. I start with .10 of a whole batch, powdered and me weighing in at 100lbs makes my notes easy! I have mushies stored in cool, dark after humidity checked with a silicone pac added in large mason jars. I make notes and share what I have learned with others. I could binge-watch this starting at around 14 in - the expert is excellent and will have to watch over and over, just so I can kind of understand and add to my knowledge. For me B+ was the easiest to grow, but my least fave to microdose. Looking forward to taking a heroic dose! Well, not since I was in my teens😊 back then, no one was in charge😂 I feel like I should get like an EKG or something first- lol

    • @thegreatgpunky
      @thegreatgpunky Год назад +5

      Most cubes are fine for microdosing. You shouldn’t feel anything in the way of a trip when microdosing. If you feel any visual distortion or body high in general, you probably took a small dose and not a microdose. Microdose would be from .10g -.30g and you don’t want to do it back to back days. Try to stagger the doses giving your body time to clear the previous dose from your system before taking another. (Dose, day off dose, two days off, dose, day off, dose two days off) something like that. The higher potency strains like APE may require smaller amounts, but .10g should be pretty safe with any strain. I’ve never tried microdosing with Pan Cyans, but I would suggest keeping it at the lower end of the microdose dose for that as well.

    Traditional Mazatec and Zapotec curanderos, as well as many other ethnic groups throughout Mexico, all note that various species have different experiences, or "signatures," that have different uses. The most famous Mazatec shaman, Maria Sabina for example, had a disdain for cubensis - she never used it for her veladas. She preferred Psilocybe Mexicana and Psilocbye Caerulescens for her rituals. And the Zapotecs have a species named after them, Psilocybe Zapotecorum (which was on the list of different species at the start of this video). I personally prefer the Panaeolus Cyanescens and Bisporus experiences over cubensis - they're so much cleaner without any anxiety, nausea, or body load like cubes produce. Once full legality is achieved, I hope we see a diversification in the various markets that will result so that connoisseurs who want to have different experiences can have safe access to the various species that are called "exotics" in the current cultivation communities. Cubes are only so dominant in the community because they're one of the easiest and most forgiving species during the cultivation process.

    Dreaming awake I think is the best definition. Certain times of the year I can nod off sitting up or stopped in a car, and wouldn't you know I'm suddenly teleported to some "reality" completely unrelated to, but totally emersed in and totally separated from the seat and or room my body is sitting in. It's unreal and has a life of it's own, I'm literally in a different place enjoying the scene, it's contents and people that are there etc. Why does this happen without the intervention of any drug? I would have to say, any derivation of Tryptophan must do the trick; because I can fall asleep at the thanksgiving table and be out running around somewhere in the ether and come back within seconds to grinning family and friends who had to stop talking politics when they realized I was asleep. Yes I'm old, but it used to work when I was young as well. Dude, I'm from the black and white TV era, no tellin' what's in this mind.

    I think that to get any kind of answer, we'd need all of the worlds' top psychonauts to try a bunch of different species and strains that have been analyzed for alkaloid content and dose-matched accordingly while they're in floatation tanks. That would cover the experience portion of the experiment but the real way out of this question is, as Andrew said, to subject different people to different dosages of pure psilocybin with added alkaloids and/or only the alkaloids and then measure if they have any different effect on parts of their brain or on their metabolism.
    I'd kind of nonchalantly accepted that different strains had different effects, which seemed true in my experience, but the truth of it probably comes mores from the fact that different batches can vary widely as Andrew pointed out (not to mention set and setting). I unfortunately do not have the tools and resources to analyze the mushrooms I consume but I certainly hope that the future holds a better answer to this question.
    Thanks for the interview, I wasn't familiar with Andrew Gallimore's work!

    I do believe the experience is linked to the makeup of compounds. I'm not confident that it is species specific though. I eat mushrooms once a week. I get them in batches that last me several months. The experience I receive is definitely bad specific in certain ways. The overall journey may differ but the difficulty I have in the first half of the comfort I get in the second half of the experience is familiar. The shapes I see are consistent through that bag. Intense shrooms are always intense. Sleepy shrooms are always sleepy. I have a bag now that completely changes my entire existence yet I feel completely sober the entire time. These types of things persist until I get a different batch. This is true for me even when I get the same strain as long as it is a different batch or flush.

      What is your body weight?
      How much dried mushroom do you dose?
      I’m trying to figure out how to best benefit from the fungi.
      I’ve been doing .15-.3g doses with lions mane and niacin for 4 days then taking 3 days off.
      This is my second week trying that regimen.
      But after watching Dr. Huberman’s podcast about the fungi he mentioned that our current research seems to strongly suggest that microdosing is no better than placebo and that the truly therapeutic doses are around 2.5-5g and you can go weeks/months between doses.

      @youtubeuser3182 The most recent studies show that neural growth is only achieved with a macro dose. Significant growth is recorded 30 days after a single use. That being said, I'm not sure how to best benefit from them. Terence McKenna ate them for decades with Shaman and ended up believing they were and alien intelligence and believing the world would end in 2012. I use them for the opposite reason as everyone else. I don't strive for ego dissolution. I lean more towards ego resolution. I don't want to lose myself. I want to center him.

Just 1 small detail was missed about the cordyceps being transmittable to humans: yes, if we were bugs, wed be screwed; however this is not the only factor stopping us from contrapting the fungi, but the temperature of what the fungi is able to tolerate - our body temperature is too hot for them.
    This can all change if they adapt to hotter climates (currently happening), just sayin ;)
    Fungi seem to evolve faster than we do 😜
    It's very plausible, but not impossible for it to be a possibility :p - wich is neatly described in the video, but didnt mention the temperature factor, so thought id add ^^

I moved up to Washington State by the coast and picked all types of shrooms and there are definitely different kinds of Psilocybin. This is nothing to do with set or setting as these rules hold true no matter where I am or who I'm with.

    Hey there Tony, great video as always. I wanted to respectfully point out something toward the end of this video when you and Andrew were talking about the brain being a world builder. I agree with almost everything that both of you said, except something that you mentioned a couple of times. You said that you don't believe there even is an objective reality. I think you were slightly misunderstanding what Andrew was saying. I don't think Andrew would say that there is no such thing as objective reality, he would just say that we humans can never have access to that objective reality. Those are very different claims. It's easy to see why we could never experience objective reality as it truly is, but that wouldn't mean that this objective reality doesn't exist. It just means that we must use our flawed brains to interpret that reality and we may or may not be experiencing it like it truly is. Thats why Andrew brought up Immanuel Kant and his distinction between the pnuemenal and the phenomenal. The pnuemenal being what objectively exists, and the phenomenal being our experience of objective reality. Now maybe that's what you meant to say and just misspoke, but I think it would actually entail a logical contradiction to make the claim that objective reality doesn't exist. There *may* be an exception for people who are solipsists or even idealists(although I'm still skeptical that there would be), but barring solipsism and idealism, I don't think any serious scholar in any of the academic sciences would ever make the claim that objective reality doesn't exist. And again, this is not me trying to be rude or anything, as I really love your work and the show. I just wanted to bring this up since I heard you say more than once in this video that objective reality doesn't exist and it compelled me to respond XD. Keep up the good work!

      @FreshCapMushrooms  Год назад +4

      Thanks for such a thoughtful reply! I do get what you are saying, and appreciate you pointing out the distinction. What I was getting at was it would be hard for us to agree on what "objective reality" is because we all have slightly different perspectives (based on a million different things as Andrew mentioned), but the idea that it does exist at some inaccesible level of course makes sense. I find the idea fascinating, and obviously need to do a bit more reading on the topic because I may be slightly out of my depth!

    • @AcidAdventurer
      @AcidAdventurer Год назад +2

      I'm an idealist and I don't think the objective vs subjective distinction is even relevant on an idealist worldview, at least as it is traditionally understood. What sense does it make to say objective reality is that which is independent of the subjective experience of mind if mind is the fundamental foundation of reality? The paradigm doesn't even fit. To me the dichotomy is between purpose and personal whim. That's the true objective vs subjective distinction in my estimation. When I sit on the toilet my experience of that *is* objective reality. When I feel the porcelain on my skin and smell the poo (sorry I was thinking of my response while on the toilet), that is precisely how I was made to experience. Those things exist for me to smell and touch and see in the manner that I do and I exist to experience it in the way I do. If this is the case, what value is there in considering if this is all the way it is simply because of my own internal "subjective" experience? Of course I experience it the way I am intended to experience. Of course this reality exists ultimately within my mind (and the mind of God, that's why I'm an idealist). But this is the only kind of reality. It cannot nor should it be any other way. This is what I think "objective" is from an idealism starting point.

    The best argument against "a cube is a cube" is Albino Penis Envy. They knock golden teachers out of the water

      I finally came across some APE and I don't care what anyone says......a cube is a cube....xcept for PE ...it's a whole different monster...one of the most profound trips if ever had only on 2 grams

      @@joeconti3599 me and my body both took an eighth since I had other penis envy that wasn't whit before.
      We went through hell. He wasn't ready, and I felt guilty for given them to him. He had 4 ego deaths, and had the "learn everything then die" trip.
      And I felt like I doomed him, for the first half I tried to be a guide. Let him cry in my arms, talk hin through it, be gentle. He came down but I felt like u had to die for doing that to him. I played in a bed watching his family telling me to die for my mistake, and I watched myself eat a load of buckshot and watch my head blow off in a loop for 30 mins.
      Then my buddy held me as I cried for the rest of it.
      That trip bonded us like fucking superglue i swear to god. Haven't really tripped since.

    It's real simple. If they grant access to it, they first have to figure out how they can control and make money from it.
