Ive started taking mushroom powders in my morning tea and give supplements to one of my teenagers. Such a difference. Mushrooms are the hidden gem. Mother nature has everything we need.
that is why they want you to eat all this garbage processed foods, cause it makes you sick and the medical community can benefit from your illnesses. I have been doing research about nutrition for almost 40 yrs,( after my father suffered a heart attack at the age of 42-and died at the age of 54, despite all the crap medications he was taking, so that me think-obviously drugs don't cure or keep you healthy) and it always goes back to eating real food, and a variety of it.
I really wonder about how good powders (food powders in general) really are. I used to take a bunch of supplemental herbs in powder form, but for some reason I have grown suspicious and now prefer to eat whole foods where I can, or make powders myself. Fresh beats powder anytime for me - any thoughts?
Been taking chaga for a while and LOVE it, but this video has me excited to try turkey's tail. I want to take singular mushrooms for a while rather than a blend, to see if I can notice specific benefits.
After regularly taking a mushroom supplement I noticed improved cognitive function and the ability to recall memories easier. Mental focus was also improved. Mushrooms are amazing
I was just recently diagnosed with a chronic disease that destroys my immune system. I’ve started taking Turkeys tail (powder form) In hot water with lemon everyday. I can’t wait to see how well it’ll help rebuild my immune system
Sorry to hear about your condition. Turkeys tail should work great I’ve read about that in this book called Ancient remedies you should check it out if you are into natural cures. Have you tried drinking kefir? It is packed with probiotics that support your immune system. I personally have a cup a day of kefir and have seen a big difference in my stomach.
I find myself wanting to disagree with the notion that there are 5 'functional' all-star fungi. I think the reason most mushrooms are not considered 'functional' is simply because lab work and clinical studies have not been carried out on the majority of them, and also because most of them do not lend themselves to cultivation, and therefore the potential for profit, and so there is little incentive to study them. Many more species than these 5 are already in use in different cultures around the world however, having been well studied, and used as medicinal ingredients in traditional medicine systems and in pharmaceuticals... Poria cocos, Tremella fusciformis, Phellinus linteus, Auricularia auricula, Grifola frondosa to name but a few. Their claimed actions are backed up by laboratory and clinical studies already in many cases. Additionally, almost all edible mushrooms are considered to be 'functional' foods; being rich in phenolic antioxidants, reducing glucose absorption in the small intestine via inhibiting alpha-glucosidase activity, helping to regulate cholesterol metabolism due to the presence of natural statins, supplying the body with ergothioneine, glutathione, linoleic acid, ergosterol, GABA, vitamin D and protein bound branched beta-glucans. Even common white button mushrooms supply these things... the perspective of there being 5 'stars' appears to be linked to the ready availability of those products as ingredients via the neutraceutical industry, and could be driven by profit, not medicinal activity, scientific discovery, or their use as traditional medicines, which would completely change the emphasis. The 5 mushrooms discussed are brilliant and useful, but so are many of the others.
Tremella is a great mushroom. Its actually also great used as a natural beauty product. More potent hydrating for the skin than synthetic hyaluronic acid you find in tons of face cream. Plus no side effects like hyaluronic acid. Which can happen if you have sensitive skin or a weaker immune system.

You didn't mention Psilocybin mushrooms. There is more research showing their mental health benefits than the rest of the list combined. The only problem is they are too powerful to be played with. This was a good opportunity to at least talk about them.

Just wanted to make a correction here - at around the 7:40-7:45 mark is the claim that adenosine is “used to make cellular energy”, which is inaccurate. Adenosine triphosphate (ATP) is involved in energy production, so I’m assuming that adenosine is being conflated with ATP here. Although ATP is a derivative of adenosine, these are two different (but important) compounds with different (and important) functions. Adenosine promotes sleep, vasodilation, etc. and is an important component of homeostatic regulation of the sleep-wake cycle. Caffeine promotes wakefulness/alertness by INHIBITING adenosine. So yeah…adenosine itself won’t give you energy; it will put you to sleep. ATP is involved in a number of important cellular metabolic processes.

I'm surprised psilocybe cubensis wasn't mentioned here, especially since recent discoveries about microdosing make it a nootropic fit even for many who don't necessarily want a full on psychedelic experience.
I did microdosing of ayahuasca when I first started capsules of lions mane mushrooms. when I began to use cheaper lions mane powder (I dont mind the taste) I noticed there was a similar "lightening touch" between the Lions mane and the ayahuasca. I believe the "neurodendritic growth factor compounds" between both ayahuasca and lions mane have a similar action
Since when does ayahuasca or dmt contain any form of “neurodendritic growth factor compounds”? 🧐 How, exactly could dmt even have said compounds when it is a single molecule, a single compound. 🤔 By definition it doesn’t contain ANYTHING other than dimethyltriptammine. 😱 And ayahuasca is only adding some maois to the dmt, often harmine, harmaline and other similar maois. 😒 Anyway, if I’m mistaken I’d very much appreciate if you’d steer me in the right direction to find out more about said compounds being in dmt. Still can’t understand how that can be possible, but interested to find out if it is.

I’m no expert, but mushrooms and fungi beds are known to help regulate nutrients in the soil and act to disperse nutrients between different areas of forest/woodland. If they really have some intrinsic ability to help regulate nature like that it’s no wonder they seem to provide us with so many different uses
....there are many dumb feeling-based comments in the comment section, but this is the dumbest. "Well John was really good at gardening so I turned him into a powder and ingested him so I could become a better gardener!" Like...just THINK about your sentences.
@@Hahahahaaahaahaa that might be a smart analogy to you, but it really doesn’t work… 🤡 I presume you’re aware of substances that exist on a molecular level? For example, we eat eggs as a source of protein. The complex’s proteins within things such as eggs carry out a complex number of vital functions within our body. So, ‘let’s eat John the gardener’ honestly makes no sense, and though you might have felt smart writing it just looks kind of ridiculous as a reply. Is your beef against people eating mushrooms, or is it against consuming/eating anything and everything for the variety of medicinal reasons we do? @Scarlet who does?

I love our native reishi. Ganoderma tsugae. Grows in our country and in the wild. We also have a species in the north west and one in the south. No need to buy one from a farm. Go find them yourself.
Thanks for this educational content! This is why we crafted only these 5 mushrooms into our mushroom coffee!
Lions main mushrooms are amazing for cooking the plant based cooking channels use them a lot for some incredible recipes.
Hi. Great video. Could you please link to some of the scientific papers you mention in the start of the video. Thanks in advance.
The best compendium so far that we have seen is "Mycology Press", look it up it's a great resource! They have a page that lists papers by condition and by species.
Could not find any real scientific papers on "mycology Press" only things they have written themselves and papers without peer rewiew.
Great video man...tanks
I’m no expert, but mushrooms and fungi beds are known to help regulate nutrients in the soil and act to disperse nutrients between different areas of forest/woodland. If they really have some intrinsic ability to help regulate nature like that it’s no wonder they seem to provide us with so many different uses
....there are many dumb feeling-based comments in the comment section, but this is the dumbest.
"Well John was really good at gardening so I turned him into a powder and ingested him so I could become a better gardener!"
Like...just THINK about your sentences.
@@Hahahahaaahaahaa that might be a smart analogy to you, but it really doesn’t work… 🤡
I presume you’re aware of substances that exist on a molecular level? For example, we eat eggs as a source of protein. The complex’s proteins within things such as eggs carry out a complex number of vital functions within our body.
So, ‘let’s eat John the gardener’ honestly makes no sense, and though you might have felt smart writing it just looks kind of ridiculous as a reply.
Is your beef against people eating mushrooms, or is it against consuming/eating anything and everything for the variety of medicinal reasons we do? Would you apply your same logic to eating honey for example?
THIS IS AN IMPORTANT POINT THAT NEEDS TO BE RESEARCHED.
Mycillium is called the plant internet LOL
reishi felt so similar to cubensis when I was younger

You forgot about Shiitake and Maitake which are considered therapeutic mushrooms especially in Japan.
Great video! I’m excited I just put 4 lionsmane bags in the fruiting chamber.
I definitely enjoyed this video and how there's so many ways to benefit from these natural herbs/mushrooms. I drink them in great tasting coffee's, tea's, and more with no bitterness. If anyone here would like to try some, I wouldn't mind sharing the website. Just comment I'm interested, and I'll leave the website link here for everyone else who wants to try it. Have a great one everyone.
That's great, I'm just also letting people know that there's at of great tasting products with some of those same benefits he just shared on the website I have and very often order from. In fact I literally placed a order for great tasting coffee products with those benefits and high quality.
And the company also delivers in the US, and over 30 countries.

I've never liked mushrooms.. but since I went vegan I really need to try them again to have variety..I bought some to put in pasta.. they sat in my fridge for a week.. when I opened them They smelled so bad I didn't eat em.. I do have powered shrooms I use but I don't know if they would be as beneficial

@Davis Smith lol ... I've done acid... I don't think I wanna do mushrooms lol
I go to local oriental store and buy dried Shitake mushrooms. I cook in water just the amount I'm going to eat for 4 days. I only eat one or two a day. Plus the broth is excellent. I keep the dried mushrooms in glass jars in a cool dark place and they last forever LOL
I’ve read blue oyster from much research is very beneficial - not mentioned here. These mentioned here much better?
