I used this pattern to make a memory quilt for my dad, out of my mom's clothes after she died. Some of the fabric was thin and/or stretchy, so I added the step of ironing each set of 9 squares onto fusible quilter's grid before sewing the blocks. It came out beautifully. Thank you so much for the pattern!

I am rather new to quilting and have been following another company with the tutorials until I found you. Your notion of finger pressing at each step has greatly improved my piecing. I had no idea how important that was for accuracy in the next step. Thank you for that. I love your work and say "I have to make that!" after each one. Have turned several people on to your site. Love your collection of batiks and hope to see it in person some day.

  • @janncure2664

I LOVE THE VIDEOS, but I have something to add on this one😊
I wanted to make this bigger & I learned something
Considering the reassembled 9 patch, it is a “4x6” quilt using 24 blocks
    I made mine 6.5x6.5 blocks with a 4” border
    NICE BIG Queen size quilt
I sewed the top two blocks together in a strip & pressed seam allowances right, & then the bottom two blocks together in a strip, pressing seam allowances to the left
It helped me keep my seams nested & I was able to fine tune the finished size of my quilt
I LOVE all of you finger pressing tips, you weight on the end of the ruler when cutting, the mark or tape on the machine to make the diagonally stitched squares & using a 48” metal ruler when pressing strips. Your speaking manner & and information makes everything flow in an easy to follow manner-ALL INVALUABLE ♥️

I love your videos! My favorite techniques that I have picked up from you {so far!} is the weight holding the end of a long ruler so it doesn't shift, and to not snip the threads between pieces so that blocks stay in the same order. Oh, and the finger nail pressing too! Thanks for sharing your talent!
