Creed is not a Christian band he talks about his struggles
It bothers me how much hate Creed recieved/recieve. They have great songs past those few that were overplayed. It's the same with Nickleback though I prefer Creed over them.
I think a lot of the hate creed got was because of the personality and behavior of the singer i.e. Scott Stapp. He came off as douchy and arrogant on TV shows, and had severe alcohol and drug addiction problems...
His out of order behavior led to rest of the band members breaking up creed and forming Alter bridge...
@MrXYZ-rc6qb I agree but I see past that as he was probably not ready for the fame and temptation. If you watch some podcasts he talks about the struggles and addictions. He has changed and he is still making music. My father was at Stapp's concert last year and he preformed very well live.
@@johnnyadamany oh definitely he has recovered and turned his life around... Nothing against him honestly. I was just mentioning the reason why Creed fell apart and part of the reason why some people disliked it at the time. For me personally, the character of the artist matters a lot in when connecting with their music, so I can relate to why people started to dislike creed after one point. But really glad Scott got out of that and is living a healthy life now. Rapid fame and success very early on can mess with anyone tbh.
I may be old but the music seems to drown out his voice. I like to hear the voice and the meaning of the words and music is secondary.
