I've been obsessed with Creed since this album. I was 10 and my introduction into "rock" music. For you to have said "is that Tremonti" made me want to giggle like a little girl because I have loved him since I was little. All that aside, I love your take on these topics. I've watched quite a few or your videos, I try to find positive vids to watch while I work from home for the background, for you to end every single video with the gospel wrapped up for everyone watching, man, that's awesome brother!! Like really, I admire your wisdom and annoyed that I'm older and don't have your boldness lol! Keep on keepin on! I love your content! :D

Love the appreciation and exposure to creed. Growing up in that time was insane. I was 10 when this came out and I remember every bit of how huge creed was. This has always been one of my favorite songs. A song about rape, anger and grief is not something sang enough about.

MUSIC REACTIONS!!! Oh, it's so good to see you still doing these!
    Clutch...Clutch...Clutch... LOL
This song, Devin, is about rape and domestic abuse. How a life and a soul can be lost to it. And how you overcame it and healed from it.
I love this song. This song is so deep man. And the musicality (Scott Phillip's syncopation on the snare...it's...so amazing and his fills? My goodness! and time signatures are awesome. Scott really puts it down on Vox and Mark's BUVox are amazing! That solo! One of his best!
This song is so heavy and I'm so glad they wrote it. The one beautiful thing about Creed's music is its ability to connect and feel you're not alone. That someone has been through it and knows that someone is there for you.

Devin first of all, thank you for this reaction video! I absolutely LOVE Creed, they're my favorite band of all time..... When I first heard this song, of course I realized that it was about someone being sexually molested. I read that Scott Stapp wrote this song because he knew a girl who was raped and she confided in him about it, hence the lyrics, "She came calling, one early morning". And also, this song hits very close to home with me as well..... Of course, it wasn't until YEARS later after this song and the album, "Human Clay" was released, my younger sister was molested. :( Thankfully though, the man who committed that heinous, horrible crime against my sister will never again breathe free air. He's in prison for the rest of his life. As soon as I heard that my sister had been raped, I dropped down on my knees and with tears streaming down my face, I prayed to the Lord not only for my sister, but for the man who raped her to be brought to justice and that maybe he could find repentance for what he'd done through the Lord Jesus. Also, of course when I heard that, this song came to mind.

Creed will always have a place in my heart, my family listened to them at the time and my children connected with them. My special needs son still does and we still listen to them. Human Clay, Weathered and My Own Prison were all great albums/CD each have several fantastic songs. I did appreciate Scott Stapp’s commitment to Christ then and am saddened that the group didn’t endure. He had his demons and they caused the group to dissolve. The rest of the group tried to continue but in my opinion it just didn’t work without Stapp. Devin thank you for everything you do. God bless you!

Your channel was recommended to me today. Dude, I never knew channels reacting to songs existed, but it's amazing. I've never really listen to the words in a song, but your descriptions of some of these songs from Creed have made my eyes water. They have some really deep lyrics.
The only artist I can think that has effected me with their lyrics are a band called Third Day, and especially a song called 'Thief'. I was driving down to buy dr*gs and I had that playing in the car. I was balling my eyes out as I was driving, knowing how much Jesus loved me, how He understood my conflict and wanted me to be free and was still willing to forgive my lifestyle just like he did the thief on the cross next to Jesus.

Personally I am a believer and a sinner saved by grace . Please pray for them , I pray that I can be the light and to set a good example through God , it’s only through Him we can set true examples of genuine love .

Devin, you got a huge "Big Brother" vibe, and I love it!

    • @WilliamWilson_org
      @WilliamWilson_org 2 года назад

I have 2 comments to add. First, I respect that you are "God Fearing", but I don't follow a God I have to fear. I am "God Loving". I understand and accept the consequences of my humanity, and I do not fear the truth, nor do I fear the consequences of my life. I do the nest I can with the tools I have. I am imperfect, but my imperfection, my flaws and my mistakes do not carry me with fear, they carry me with pride. Because they are things I learn from. They are tools I use to improve.
Second, I like how you take on the fact that life is not easy. Suffering is not a penance. It's an educational tool.. Suffering is an immutable fact. Being human is not about accepting the suffering, but about learning how to overcome it. Religion should not about using suffering as a tool of control, but as a chapter to teach us how to spot the unnecessary suffering, avoid it, and then to learn how to better cope with it, when it is, in fact, outside our control.
Racism, economy, patriarchy, hate, jealousy and fear... those are all just demons that exist in the world. We can't eradicate them, so we must learn to overcome them, and to come together as a community to actively shun those behaviors. People should always be entitled to their beliefs, no matter what those beliefs are. But we do not have to accept the BEHAVIOR of those individuals acting on hateful, or fearful beliefs.
I think one of the big things about praying for everyone, even those who have wronged you, is the acknowledgment of the fact that people can be brought into the light. But praying for them alone, is not enough.
I would LOVE to have the time to sit down with you and have some deep conversations. I bet we'd have some awesome chats.

Well said Devin, yes we are called to reach out to the lost and hurting humans. It is very hard to do but this needs to be done. Listen to me, I struggle with this myself but Jesus told us that we will be persecuted for following Him. Being persecuted for following Him is an honor and a treasure. So strive for this and everyday to the best of my abilities. Thanks Devin.

Faceless Man and Say I are also some heavy hitters. Such a shame what the media and his band mates did to Scott Stapp. He’s genuinely a good person and everyone just turned their backs on him. Smh

I love you man . You experience new things clearly and find enjoyment in new things. I am so glad you found out about creed. I may disagree with you at times but will always respect and love your vibe!!

People used to look at me crazy bumping creed in the hood and suburbs! Lmbo Scott's lyrics spoke to me even tho I didn't Know Christ at all. I truly believe they were the seed that was planted and others watered and Abba gave the increase.

Creed's music made me realize that music is awesome. I was 9 years old and I realized for the first time that I love music.

First time hearing this song as well. As a woman who was in a physical, sexual, verbal, and mental abusive relationship. Also a Christian from a very young age. I understand the crown of thorns in the song. In no way it was it anything that our savior Jesus went through. At the same time, those thorns are a constant torment. You feel labeled, flashbacks, nightmares, scares easily, ect. Seeing scars on your child, visually impaired, because he beat you so badly while I was pregnant he almost killed the both of us. My daughter was born a micro preemie with many complications. It's coming up on the 27th year of her birth. God saved us from certain death. Still 27 years there are days where I have to forgive him all over again with my Father's help. 27 years of thanking God for his mercies, and still believing my daughter will be made whole. 27 years of life being so thankful we are still here. He says he is a christain/preacher. That's between him, and God. He has left his children behind with no apologies or acknowledgement of what he has done.
