Oh thank god, for a moment I thought the physical version was canceled all together
Yea me too if they did that i don't know what i would do i Hate getting games digitally no offense. 🥺
i think Nintendo doing this is to screwed over the digital bot, resellers and scammers. Nintendo dont want the same experience like those dirty beings did to the ps5 with paper mario.
@@Kurumithespiritnightmare all of the offence, f*ck digital gaming
What are you thinking?😂 I lived way longer than you, no way Nintendo cancels ALL physical preorders. ^^
@@codysvlogdaysLanguage.
Even when they give us this game, they won't give us this game...
Hey gotta give em credit for at least testing how far they can get away with laziness. Let’s just make sure to prote-
And it’s already game of the year FUUU-
Blame scalpers and people who leak footage of these games days before release. They always ruin the fun for everyone else.
@RedX03 you know that scalpers unfortunately exist right? And Nintendo obviously learned from the situation with the Playstation 5 and are most likely trying to screw their digital bots over with this move. GameStop, Best Buy and I think Target still have preorders for this game up on their websites
@@RedX03 How is this lazy? Did you forget that scalpers exist?
@@kingrant6274
I am actually. I was just making a joke...
I think what might be happening is that the pre-orders are in higher demand than Nintendo anticipated & it's causing supply issues. That's my guess, but I'm not an expert
If that's true, then Nintendo continues to be comically out of touch with their fanbase
My bet is youre right. Paper mario has been out of touch for decades. @Senator_Squires
It actually may be true. In Germany there were 3 Keychain (Mario Gumbella Yoshi) available as pre order bonus for the offical nintendo store. If you preorder now you only get one keychain (Mario).
@@martin_o. When I attempted to pre-order on the Dutch Nintendo store, it only showed one keychain in the listing. Adding the game to the shopping cart added all three keychains (Mario, Goombella and the Yoshi kid) as bonus items. I suppose that the three of them will still be available, as this was a week or so ago
Endless ocean was the same way
there are 3 possibilities I see for this
1. so many copies are being sold that there's supply issues
2. this is to help prevent bots and scalpers buy a full stock online
3. Nintendo fears the games leaking early
game will leak regardless i would say it is more to stop the scalper bots that seem to buy out the stocks and resell for outrages prices
I'm aiming for the second option, though I agree with all three to an extent
Supposedly Nintendo just doesn't want online retailers to ship out physical copies before the release date.
As far as Nintendo is worried about it leaking early???? That seems odd to me given that the game has been out for 20 years
What's weird is that it's just Walmart and Amazon. Amazon of all places is really weird.
sounds right especially the last two
Good thing it’s not GameStop
Wouldn't want them to suffer another blow after the short-lived meme stock resurgence.
GameStop supremacy
That what I said
Thank you GameStop.
yeah, especially since they have the slip cover with the pre-order, well in Canada at least
Apparently, a truck filled with Splatoon one copies was stolen up to the release. Maybe somehow a whole departments got stolen.
I thought it was amiibos that were stolen in that incident.
WTF?! I love splatoon as much as the next person, but that’s insanity!
And let me guess, the game was then dumped online before its official release.
@@flainfanthe person who did that probably only cared about the amiibos
@flainfan the game came with the amiibo for like £60 so I think nintendo just refunded the £10 extra the amiibo costed
The main way this could be acceptably understandable is if the item recalls were due to faulty copies across the board.
Scalpers are one of the reasons Walmart canceled the pre-orders. Gamestop and Best Buy better avoid the same route as Walmart.
Ok legit read the title and said out loud "What?!"
yeah they kinda of left out the online thing
Nintendo wants us to prove how much we love this game, to sway them on their decision on how to design the next Paper Mario game in 2028.
Nice pfp
Also, by making their fans actually go outside to pre-order a game if they were planning to do it at Wal-Mart.
@@SaltyToad00those nintentards always have to ruin everything
I think they want people to fight over copies of the game like it’s Black Friday
Nintendo probably figured out they are the ones breaking street dates
I almost wonder if the game is selling more than they had planned for
Oh surely it couldn’t be that, right? It’s not like people have been begging for a TTYD re-release for 20 years or anything…
Could be.
Bots buy in bulk too.
@@joshuagrahambrownand we had to relay on this thing --> 🐬
Also the possibility Nintendo is afraid of leaks
Amazon had not been available for pre orders for awhile
Yeah it’s weird, that’s the main place I preorder games
Same, I even preordered it, but for some reason it won’t show it.
Not if you're in Canada. Even if you pre-order right now, they're guaranteeing release date delivery.
I think what might be happening is that the pre-orders are in higher demand than Nintendo anticipated & it's causing supply issues. That's my guess, but I'm not an expert.
it could be that Nintendo doing this is to screwed over the digital bot, resellers and scammers. Nintendo dont want the same experience like those dirty beings did to the ps5 with paper mario.
I’m thinking the same thing
Either that, or they know either:
A. The game will leak early online thanks to pre-ordered copies, like Super Mario Bros. Wonder and The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom did
Or
B. Scalpers will buy multiple copies and resell them for outrageous prices
@@SaltyToad00 definitely the b option. A option will always happens even if they do heavy security measures.
nah seen as crapazon started doing this like a month ago
Weirdly and still relevant: the Nintendo eShop gift cards digitally on Amazon are also not available?
Is Amazon purging Nintendo stuff?
They stopped selling game gift cards last year. It is stupid
And that's why I've been unable to buy Splatoon 3
They're cutting back on manufacturing entirely, so gift cards included, projections are that people are using credit cards for digital purchases more than gift cards and retail sales. Gift cards are also a scam risk so they're weighing it up and realizing it's not worth it.
@@botterminator Damn....
I swear if this affects the games sales...😮💨
If the theory that many people are saying is true, that this was done due to pre-order demand messing up their phsyical count, then the higher ups would see this as "This is the first time demand was so high our first supply was so outmatched we had to take action," which would be a good thing to them (crosses fingers).
I got an email from Walmart telling me the same thing a few hours ago but when I called customer service, they said I should still be fine. My preorder in my purchase history still shows 🤨 🤔
Same for me
@@avatoa I spent pure Walmart Cash on it. I’ll be damned if they steal from me 😠
@@kmart1028 Personally I think that's the better option if you want a refund, like I did for a game I bought
Well there is still Target
I’ve been wondering what’s going on with this. Every time I’ve checked Amazon to try to pre-order the game, it was just never available.
It's currently still available on Amazon Australia, so it might be a regional thing.
@@BigKlingyYeah, Amazon Canada still has it, so I think this is an L America moment
What. The. Flying Dutchman?!?
I remember Nintendo and Amazon butting heads during the Wii U causing them to wipe Nintendo games from their store for a while. Interesting to see it happen again.
Apparently Amazon U.K. still has Paper Mario TTYD still pre-orderable
Which is good news for me who pre-ordered a physical version on Amazon U.K.
Same, though I'm not so sure what's going to happen on release next week, we still might be out of luck
There's hardly any physical games at Walmart, suggesting that they will eventually stop stocking games and have download cards instead.
But Amazon? I can't think of any reason to not allow pre-orders...
It's times like these I'm glad my Gamestop is still around so close.
Stopping scalpers? Seems like a countermeasure on both the retailers'/Nintendo’s part.
Please note that this is only happening in america. The physical game is still available on amazon in europe.
I was just wondering about that. Would've been nice if they mentioned it. Not everyone lives in the US
Canada too. Pre-orders are available at every retail store and they're all delivering on release day.
@@Viovel Didn't you know, to Americans the entire world is America. There are no other countries and the whole Earth's human population are American.
They’re definitely testing how this goes to take out pre-orders. This would help to f*ck off the scalpers in preparation in their next console.
This happened to me about two months ago with Amazon. Very frustrating. I ended up ordering from Best Buy. If this keeps up for future games I may switch to Best Buy as my primary means of ordering games and skip Amazon altogether.
good choice. between amazon, walmart, gamestop, and best buy, it's best buy that has best record for not canceling preorders.
@@nightcrawler500 that’s good to know. I’ll keep that in mind for the future
Nintendo: you owning the game? What is this a charity?
Considering the fact that physical versions of the game are still being sold…
This joke doesn’t work at all.
Seriously what in the world is Nintendo doing
@@animezilla4486 probably a supply issue.
@@loonieDMighty could be and people say Nintendo is perfect
@@animezilla4486 No, that's just called basic supply and demand. There's not an infinite number of copies available. That has nothing to do with Nintendo being a good company or not.
Still available on Best Buy, GameStop & Target Apps/Websites
Amazon stopped selling new Nintendo releases in general starting last month. A bit late to be trying to figure this out now... 💀
Weird what's going on with Walmart tho...
Seems to be a classic case of the demand outstripping the actual supply considering that only Amazon and Walmart pre orders mainly seem to be affected so far. I generally wouldn't be surprised if Thousand Year Door Switch ends up having a more limited print run with Nintendo right now likely starting to shift resources towards Switch 2.
Only in the US mind you, in the UK and seemingly the rest of Europe it's perfectly fine
Same with the fact apparently you can't get eShop cards on Amazon in the US? Even though we can in the UK
i think Nintendo doing this is to screwed the bot resellers and scammers. Nintendo dont want the same experience like those dirty beings did to the ps5 with paper mario.
Hopefully GameStop pre-orders are safe.
I hope so too
from what i know they are at least in store they are
And Best Buy pre-orders too! (That's where I got my pre-order from!)
They are! Do not fret!
And hopefully target!
I pre-ordered my copy at GameStop so I guess I’m OK for now
Yep, it sounds like a scalper issue.
Scalpers only exist because of emotionally incontinent man-children who can't wait a week to play a video game, and because Nintendo CONSTANTLY artificially restricts the supply of their own games.
Got my amazon order got canceled a few weeks back, so I went with Target. I'm sweating bullets that they'll be next now that Walmart also got canned.
I guess this is only a US issue, I'm from Canada and mine says it's still coming.
👏 👏 👏
Well, that's tearable
So Pre-ordering is out of the question but surely online retailers like Amazon will still ship physical copies post-launch, right?
ugh, I don't want to compete with pre-order buyers that first day
Okay I thought this was Nintendo's doing Luckily it's only Walmart and Amazon still what the fuck?!
Be really funny if the reason for the Cancelling would be so many people are pre-ordering that they can't keep up with demands.
I'm more curious what the sell units of the first week or even month are going to look like.
Too many people ordered this game to fill the physical cartridge per-order demand is my best guess.
The amazon cancellations happened like a month ago. Ended up preordering digitally
So glad I have my vouchers left to use for this game
Getting digital means you are a part of the problem
This sounds almost self sabotaging
I was lucky. I preordered my copy back on Target on April and just got told it's on the way. Must be an inventory issue with Walmart and Amazon
I literally just pre-ordered today at GameStop thank god
0:36 You've selected the digital code, of course, it's going to say its unavailable.
What do you mean by "of course it's unavailable"? ITS DIGITAL, THEY SHOULDNT BE OUT
Good thing I don’t preorder games from Amazon and Walmart anymore.
Underestimated the demand for this one maybe.
Imagine if this reduced sales of the game because people forgot to pre-order it somewhere else, and then Nintendo said, “Welp… I guess people don’t want more Paper Mario games like this after all.”
If Gamestop does this, I will literally cause war.
We have waited for years for this. Don't fuck around with this six days before launch, Nintendo.
The one time Gamestop does something right 😅
Without the video title this would give anyone a heart attack.
Uhhh has this ever happened before? Any precedent for this, as to what to expect from this whole debacle? Cuz this feels like a first to me
Here’s my advice. Don’t preorder physical games online. If you want to preorder a game, you can just preorder the game in store, or preorder the digital version from the Eshop.
I'm glad I'm waiting to get this game for my birthday next month. I just hope everything gets resolved for everyone and people can preorder it again.
How are the digital codes out? It's DIGITAL.
And you will STILL get off to them, game companies are NOT. YOUR. FRIEND!
@pyroflare7774 what? I never claimed that they were friends.
At least they gave me a $25 gift code for the trouble. I have no idea what Nintendo is thinking, but something must be up? I swear if my GameStop order goes through the same thing I’m gonna be so hot!
Yup same
Especially since I used some of my GameStop pro members points.....
Scalpers ruin everything for everyone and goes on to say buy this $20,000 game .my kids need Christmas presents
Walmart canceled my pre order in email last week. I pre-ordered from another retailer But it still wasn't canceled on Walmart app ....still charged my card and shipped it out on Wednesday May 22nd 2024 around 7pm
Not sure if anyone noticed but they have stopped selling physical release of Endless Ocean Luminous almost the same day it came out, you can’t find it in any retailer, I’ve been to GameStop, Target, Walmart, BestBuy, no one has it. A GameSop employee told me that apparently Nintendo recalled the product and now has a new TBD release date, but I think they just won’t sell it due to the bad reviews.
I’m not effected, for me it’s saying Arriving May 25th only because I just pre ordered in the past few days
I have connections with a third party game store that lets their customers purchase games a day or two early if you preorder them and they receive the shipment within the parameters
I received an email from Walmart on the 22nd, saying they've since then had second thoughts about canceling my shipping for the game.
I think they're only cancelling PRE-ORDERS. Meaning, it'll be available again to order on release date.
Other than that, I think the reason why this happened is because of the "scalping" thing lots of people in the comments have been taking about with the release of the NES Remix Championship game that includes the collectables.
I don't think you have to worry so much, guys.
Does this count in the UK where I live I pre order my on amazon
So that's why I got a message saying that the vendor on Amazon was sold out
What I think is most likely happening is that the demand for cartridges has outstripped the supply
At least the game is still coming on the 23rd
It will be just like my childhood. Back then no one pre-ordered or reserved games. I will be jjst walking by seeing the copies and buy one. Just like my childhood. ❤😊
You rock Nintendo.
yeah i’ve been wondering why the amazon pre-order has been unavailable. specifically the digital version, hopefully that goes back up
Perhaps its a tactic to counter Scalpers?
Funny thing I didn't think anything about it because I figured it was because the game is due in about a week.
the script of this video sounds like it was written by a scalper
Best buy and target don't have resellers so I'm sure nintendo is worried about scalpers and learning how to deal with switch 2 launch aswell
This is actually how I found out it's going to be released in May at all. Haven't seen any advertisements for it either??
Ok thank goodness I'm not crazy, I kept checking amazon for the past few weeks and the physical version was always unavailable, it was such a weird thing
I'm okay with this personally as I tend to buy my games in store on foot.
Maybe Jeff Bezos and the Walmart CEO are GMod fans lol
"The enemy of my enemy is my friend." as they say.
It was a troll 😑
Maybe there weren’t enough copies to fulfill pre-order and in-store stock so they’re canceling pre-orders for Walmart. As for Amazon… that is actually kind of bizarre bc that means you physically cannot purchase the game through Amazon as there’s no physical location. So you’d only be able to purchase a digital download code through there. You’d only be able to buy the game physically through Amazon after launch which like I said is really bizarre.
I haven't got that issue with Amazon canada. Still got my preorder 😊
differnt country
They're probably preparing a new policy for switch 2 to combat scalpers
I was planning to order a physical of this on Amazon the day it releases. Is that no longer possible either?
Amazon US , and Nintendo seemed to be having Issues for awhile. Time will tell If you're in a different country you should be fine as long there is stock.
I just pre-ordered the game from Amazon Australia an hour ago and it's still listing the game for sale. This issue might be limited to America.
I don’t understand why you would pre-order a game online without there being an incentive. Like, there’s gotta be a really big incentive for me to buy online. And sometimes, I can get that bonus with in store pickup.
Aside from Amazon, I can’t rely on shipping. It usually ships at 8 pm on release day. And I dont have Amazon Prime but I can’t imagine their shipping could be any faster than me going to the store when it opens to pick it up.
and this is why i like gamestop i dont have to worry about crap like this happening
I went to GameStop to preorder a month ago. Gonna be picking it up in person.
Probably because of those who stream having the physical game before others, those guys who work at Walmart or have a "relative" in a store and help them "get" the games
Haha that reminds me of when some youtuber got a prerelease copy of Xenoblade for the 3DS. They could only show the first 4-5 hours of the game despite the internet being jam-packed with countless videos of the Wii version including chuggaconroy's encyclopedic lp.
Amazon canceled mine a month ago for some reason. Pre-ordered from GameStop instead and all is fine there.
Is this US only cause it’s still available on the UK Amazon.
Is it only Amazon America because I'm from the UK and it's still available to pre order?😕
I’m in the UK & I haven’t been affected yet
I'm gonna run to Walmart at 8:00 AM and get mine, if it's there
Thankfully I pre ordered on eShop, and it went through successfully. Just waiting for next week to play it.
Is it possible for stores to get preorder exclusivity? I wonder if the stores will be available for purchase everywhere the day the game is released.
This also includes amazon uk right?
still up for pre order on the UK Amazon
Ouch ... Didn't see that coming
