What, you don't have anything better to do? Give the old man a hand as he drops the driveshaft on a 1979 C3 Corvette. He needs all the help he can get!!!
Put an open end in the nut and use an impact on the bolt. It will sheer the cotter pin right off. No use fighting with them. Like you said, it takes longer to remove the cotter pin than take off the nuts and bolts.
Thank you for hanging out with the old man, Ray. That driveshaft was the dickin's to remove. Good luck with your vette. Next video will be out sooner than later.
No need to remove the differential bracket. There's just enough room on the passenger side at the differential and drive shaft connection that you can get at the drive shaft bolts. The rear of the car has to be raised so both wheels turn. Look up through the gap between the drive shaft and the bracket and have someone slowly turn the wheel until the drive shaft bolt comes into view. Remove the bolt and have the wheel rotated until the next bolt on the drive shaft comes into view. Removing the differential bracket is way too much work.
Any ideas on how to reconnect the differential bracket? Took it off fairly easily but putting it back on, the bolt holes are not ligning up with the frame holes. I can't get the middle bolt aligned and back in and it is so close!. I have tried jacking up the bracket but it is not budging. It does align if I take out the rubber bushing on the front bolt but can't go without that! 😆
Does anyone know what happened to this guy? Good vids and he did every video needed to remove the rear but dang man didn’t do a video removing the rear end itself? Hope he is ok but I dunno…
Ratcheting wrenches are definitely a life saver in small spaces. I highly recommended some!

Can't wait for the next one! 🤘😁
A lot of times the black gloves are a little thicker than the surgical gloves, so a little more durable....they still tear, just not as easy.
Still working on the Corvette? Miss the videos.
Thanks for another video. When is the next one?
Thank you. very much. great video
Thank you for watching. I appreciate you hanging out with the old man.
Old man where did you go?
Have the exact same problem. Waiting for your next video hope you're OK.
