Looks good but wont stand up to a real world load, didnt cut back 45 grove to give penetration to weld didnt weld both sides cut 99percent of weld flush to gear didnt pre heat steel spent time polshing a terd.
The bevel was not made for the weld to penetrate, and then almost all the weld was removed on the lathe, it was worse than if it had been glued with epoxy 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I think there were v-shaped grooves in the places to be welded. There are tight threads in the middle. I would think that there were still suitable coefficients left for durability. Some countries have poverty and not everyone has an education, but that doesn't make them stupid. respect to them.
There was no weld preparation and little weld penetration as you can see from the very short view of the rear at the and of the video, it seemed like it was being carried earlier to hide the rear, also drilling the hole so close to the welded end would have reduced the stability of the weld.
I liked the work. Some suggestion to make it effective 1. When trying to weld material try to make edge of material in v shape as much as deep so from inside also it will weld both material. 2. Use oil while doing drilling. 4. Safety please follow family is depending on you. Boss will get replacement of you but family will not. Nice work keep it up ❤
How did the hub break out? What other part of the gear was strong enough to break it like that? Is one tooth stronger than the whole center of the gear? Why didn't the splines strip out before the center of the gear broke?
Nice work, machining wise, but no weld preparation like machining a bevel so the weld penetrate and be strong. I believe that on the first real load, the weld would crack and shear of
Talk about primitive Pete no shoes no welding gloves probably a handheld mask walk around his pajamas, but it was a nice repair until he failed to weld the inside. Think that’s gonna fail eventually, but it only cost $25 American money. Sure he’s happy.
It would be necessary to make a seam of unmachined internal bead on the two joints and make two chamfers on the external side for better penetration. This assembly will break at the first slightly sustained effort, and the little weld remaining will shear. It's a bit surprising because he's usually a good lathe operator.
@@davidhamm5626 Look at the two ground surfaces separated by a groove that has an oil hole in it. Clear indicators of a bearing surface, most likely a roller bearing judging by the groove and oil hole.
9:46 "PERFORMATIVE WELDING" He cut the threads too long changing the vertical dimension. He didn't chamfer for the weld surfaces, so he achieved zero penetration. He then removed the surface welding. The backside of the part was not welded in any way. The part needs to go in the bin
Im impressed on the machining of the hub !!

Biggest issue, USA 'promotes' recycling then throws stuff away, or, sends it 'overseas' to be burned'?
Anyone else think that's pretty hypocritical?
Just imagine what this guy could do with the most up to date machines and tooling. He is master of outside the box thinking.
If by outside the box you mean what the west did 100 years ago...sure...🙄
Couldn'tve said it better!

I was very impressed how you repaired the broken gear Great job.
Nice fix. I liked the register he cut in the gear for the hub to set on. Very professional.

EXCELLENT work!!!
Serviço Super.... Super Profissional. Melhor impossível!
Absolutely amazing beautiful video congratulations ❤️

Forgot to use the india finger indicator on that 2nd piece
Simply amazing work. I wish I had the know how and the equipment to do that nice job!!
Safety sandals are a must..
Do they come in all sizes.😅
Sangat luar biasa dan Jenius.
many questions about the quality of the part.

Ottimo lavoro complimenti.

UM GRANDE ABRAÇO.
Still weak because of the one side welding
Agreed
He must make v shape empty space and fill with welding, both parts
They pay no mind to safety whatsoever, but they are skilled machinist.
Buen trabajo😊👍
There is only a thin lip retaining the disc insert and then you machine off more and most of the weld ! Failure imminent

these all look good but not sure they last too long
Saya sangat suka tayangan ini sengguh kerja yg sangat bagus 👍
nice bead ..good penitration??

Perfect....👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
How long does the weld last? What about the join in the inner parts?

There’s no doubt those guys are good! I wonder how Curtis from C.E.E. Would do it?

Nice work very clean 👍
Very nice job men

You're absolutely right...........
Nice,Paman 👍👍
nice job 😎😎
Espectacular!!!!
Better to cut a V shaped groove and fill it up with welding. Now the weld is very superficial and can crack soon.
How are the dents in the roller bearing surface of the hub that was caused by over tightening the lathe chuck going to be repaired?
It may not be a bearing surface.
@@davidhamm5626 Look at the two ground surfaces separated by a groove that has an oil hole in it. Clear indicators of a bearing surface, most likely a roller bearing judging by the groove and oil hole.
@@honkie247 Okay I see that now.
Lol repaired...
Nothing in this video was repaired.
Nice work
He doesn’t even bother to lube up his drilling tool 😊

first class job at the hands of a engineer unique skills great repair👍👍👍👍👍
😂
Do this with a natural break instead of a piece cut with a grinder.

This is Pakistani Guy!
Dam these people are very good at what rhe do if it was the USA the part would be new and in back order for several months
Yes, Probably less than 24hr turnaround
Lol no.
And cost a boat load of money.
It would take weeks in the US to do the same project.
good job

It broke because of misalignment. Weld all you want, it will break again unless everything runs true.
They're walking around a machine-shop in BARE feet FFS! Superfeet! :)
I don't understand why they are bothering to weaken the piece by drilling holes in it. Seems to me it would be better to leave the material in tact.
I bet that some of the parts that we order here in US come from them..😮
First they weld, second they turn the weld off in lathe
Why didn't he thread the outer wheel like he did the inner wheel?
