    Hey from an one old man to another really liked your video . What happened to you you just disappeared? Wish you did a follow up on the rear differential I have the same situation on my 79 and was hopping you would show what was wrong with yours so I could see if I want to go that far or just put it back together and sell it. Well wish you’d come back and do some more videos on the vette . I hope your still with us.

    Was it hard getting that bolt that broke in half on the rear drivers side center spring mount out of the case? Any ideas on how to prevent that from happening? Liked your video. Thanks for doing it.

  • @AlbertPendergraff-rp7jp
    @AlbertPendergraff-rp7jp 8 месяцев назад

    It's not to do that at all and it's the diff it's self and you got to take the spring and all the half shafts and everything off of it and you got two bolt on each side that has to come off and you got four bolts on top that need to come out and you need to take off the exhaust to drop it out of the car

    Put an open end in the nut and use an impact on the bolt. It will sheer the cotter pin right off. No use fighting with them. Like you said, it takes longer to remove the cotter pin than take off the nuts and bolts.

    Any ideas on how to reconnect the differential bracket? Took it off fairly easily but putting it back on, the bolt holes are not ligning up with the frame holes. I can't get the middle bolt aligned and back in and it is so close!. I have tried jacking up the bracket but it is not budging. It does align if I take out the rubber bushing on the front bolt but can't go without that! 😆

    Pretty sure the distributor cover was part of the routing of the spark plug wires. The wires ran from the plugs, through a metal sleeve below the exhaust manifold, to back of engine, and up the cover to distributor. Having said that, since you have an ACCELL coil and not OEM design, not sure the cover will fit.

    No need to remove the differential bracket. There's just enough room on the passenger side at the differential and drive shaft connection that you can get at the drive shaft bolts. The rear of the car has to be raised so both wheels turn. Look up through the gap between the drive shaft and the bracket and have someone slowly turn the wheel until the drive shaft bolt comes into view. Remove the bolt and have the wheel rotated until the next bolt on the drive shaft comes into view. Removing the differential bracket is way too much work.

    I think that distributor shield maybe to shield against noise coming thru the radio (electromagnetic noise maybe)? Mine came without it lol. But I’m still chasing down some electric issues so no radio yet so can’t check if I need it yet. Also heard of “cheap insurance” emergency cable release kit you can install I n case the main cable snaps.

I've got my second 77 that I've just started on, and plan on doing a frame off restoration in a couple of years, so keep making these videos and I know I'll keep watching them! I never did the rear end on my first one, so these videos will come in handy when I get ready to do all of this. As for what kind of mechanic am I? I graduated from Universal Technical Institute, then worked for BMW for around 5 years....after I did my first C3, so I'm not quite God level, but I've gotten my fair share of experience. 😁🤘

    Sadly soon all combustion cars and trucks including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Car washs will be forbidden too because they are climate killers, now they want to slow down all the gas station pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime.!!! (BABVVEN & TEBBVEN laws)!!!!
