MOZART Piano Concerto No. 22 in E-flat Major, K. 482
Yunchan Lim launched onto the international music stage when he was 14. He won second prize and the Chopin Special Award in his first-ever competition, the Cleveland International Piano Competition for Young Artists in 2018. That same year, he stood out as the youngest participant in the Cooper International Competition, where he won the third prize and the audience prize, which provided the opportunity for him to perform with the Cleveland Orchestra. 2019 meant more accolades, when, at the age of 15, he was the youngest to win Korea’s IsangYun International Competition, where he also took home two special prizes.
Now just 18, he has performed across South Korea-including with the Korean Orchestra Festival, Korea Symphony, Suwon Philharmonic, and Busan Philharmonic Orchestras, among others-as well as in Madrid, at the invitation of the Korea Cultural Center in Spain. He also participated in the recording of “2020 Young Musicians of Korea,” organized by the Korean Broadcasting System and released that November.
A native of Siheung, Yunchan currently studies at the Korea National University of Arts under Minsoo Sohn. Coming to Fort Worth, he says he is “looking forward to playing in front of the warmest and most passionate audience in the world.” - Видеоклипы

Mr. Lim does not care of what rewards he could get… He is jsut crazy at his playing
Maestro Van Cliburn is alive in Yunchan Lim.
Here is a pianist in love with Mozart.
Wolfgang + Yunchan = Pure Joy
he's the one who made me dive into Mozart!
Mark my words, he is going to be a GREAT Conductor one day! 💘

A masterpiece played by a young master.
I am beyond envious of the people who were in the audience here…
Mozart concerto which even Mozart might have never imagined

Mozart would be happy.

Best Mozart interpretation 👏🏻🫡
I can't express enough how stunning this is. His playing embodies sparkle, crystalline clarity, subtle nuance, elegance, nobility, passion, wit, sadness, and even agony! He truly deserved to win the Mozart Prize.
Mozart must be happy
Magic! Pure magic!
Everybody is enjoying the music.
When you listen to such wonderful playing, you soon realise the emergence of a great artist.
Yunchan Lim should have won the Cliburn Mozart Competition Award!
This is a pianist ready to conduct as well. Can’t wait. 🌱🌻
The Fort Worth audience clearly loves him. Before he even started playing and even hit a single note, the audience was already shouting bravo! 😃🥰 Perhaps it was because they had seen his performance of the Transcendental Etudes the night before.😘
I'll😢
Yunchan Lim made Cliburn Competition more famous in the world ! in the whole history of this Competition videos never had 5 million views.
Agree!! l also never knew Cliburn competition until Lim's participation
I am happy you rescue my soul.
思わずこの素敵な演奏に聞き入ってしまいました。❤音が輝いて、粒揃い、若々しい演奏に、魅了されました。
歡迎。我已經迷了兩年
The best Mozart I've ever heard...❤
i had the great honor of seeing this pianist yesterday with the Boston Symphony in the Rachmaninov 3rd. He plays with a relaxed body and such obvious pleasure at the keyboard! A peak experience.
부럽습니다😊😊
Bravissimo!❤
He could be a good conductor!
I really didn't know Mozart is such a good music.
😳
this made me laugh. lol.
Was this a competition ??? no way!!! I`m sure to those of you who were there with him had a heavenly time 🤩
Awesome rendiction...a genius at the piano.
YES.... But not so the orchestra some awful blunders.
This guy is someone who truly enjoys performing, not for the sake of anything else but for music making only!!!
Real wunderkid with out-of-this-world technique and musicality...last night he was a legit reincarnation of Liszt and today he is Mozart!

세상이 시끄러우니까 요즘은 모차르트만 듣게 되네요. 오늘도 정화된 마음으로 출근 중
Not to seem disrespectful, but I think the conductor is super adorable with his gestures.
I can see his smile and joy of playing this piece on his face
이 공연에서 그는 모짜르트를 우리에게 모셔다준 시간여행자였습니다.
It’s become my routine to visit Cliburn channel to listen to Yunchan’s Mozart. Every time I listen to this Mozart I find new aspects of this music. What a beautiful harmony between the piano and the orchestra as well as within the orchestra itself.
His musicianship rivals his years. How can such a young musician achieve the mature perfection it takes others decades to master?
He is a seeker of Veritas. He is a priest who brings the beauty and sublimity of music to this world. No mundane desires appear in his playing; He is just the music itself.
so get to the point !!!
Beautifully put.
Very well said
Yunchan is a piano god!
I don’t even know classic music well, but I know this is just true joy itself. It’s the reason why music exist.
In my opinion Yunchan should have won Mozart concerto prize too.
Does it depend on which concerto one chooses? I think the winner chose piano concerto 20 .....k466

Finally, i can no longer ignore the dratted ironing pile. But, on the big screen, and cranked up, Lim Yunchan magics the chore away. And it's so right, isnt it? Great art, great artists bringing poetry to the minutiae of life?

just sitting there and breathing music--- amazing
A few words from his recent interviews:
" 'Real' things are not seen by eyes.. Music also is not visible, and I think it is one of the very few real ones in this world. It's the reason I will keep pursuing music for the rest of my life."
(Before the final) "I do not care whether I win or not, I'll just try my best to seek and deliver the heritage/legacy of the great musicians of the past to this age."
He also said his purpose of playing the piano is to express the pain deep inside us and to heal people, again with music. "Music (played by me) can't deceive people so I always try to have a genuinely compassionate and understanding heart toward human beings and the world."
He often deliberately cuts himself from modern things or social media to fully communicate with the original composer and his intent, and be immersed in the music itself.
He said there's a lava-like singing inside him but to perfectly express that music he needs to struggle for a long time, study and think a lot, and practice overnight, to go beyond the skills to the realm of pure art..
He also said that though he lives in this century, his mind is living in the 19th with the great minds of that time. He is inspired by lots of old literature as well as everyday incidents. For example, he read the Divine Comedy of Dante countless times and searched lots of foreign documentaries to play a piece of Liszt.

My God the precision. I mean, it's a Mozart piano concerto so that's to be expected but wow
😊😊😊😊😊
Bravo bravo!!¡
This brilliant performance, like all his others, is the very definition of magic.
I have just listened to this wonderful performance yet again. It is masterly. In fact, the task of selecting a better played Mozart Concerto must have been excruciatingly challenging for the Clyburn Jury, ,though I really enjoyed Schmuckler's. I recently read some comments in a novel by Australian Author Stephanie Laurens, who, in discussing her hero, a fictional piano maestro, said all I wish I'd been able to express about Yunchan, whom I firmly believe to be a real life young maestro. I selectively quote from her text:..."his hands travelled over the keys with confidence and a mastery".. that seemed .. "effortless". .as shown by..."(t)he precision of his touch, his mastery of tone.." "He possessed the ability to make the music manifest".. "He coaxed, and the piano answered; he demanded and the music swelled".. he transformed it.. "into a palpable living, pulsing entity that could reach into peoples' minds, into their hearts and souls." I was going to stop commenting on Yunchan's refreshing approach to his work, but I just can't stop thinking about it, though I do listen to many other really great pianists as well, especially SJCho. Please do listen to Yunchan's recent brief Vail Rachmaninoff encore with Marin Alsop!!!
Note to Steinway, he sure demonstrates what your instruments are capable of, but question!!! Is Steinway capable of developing a piano that will allow Yunchan to learn what he is capable of? I think you still have a way to go and should not rest on your laurels. This is an altogether new challenge..
🍋🍋
