I have tried several different recipes for cashew brittle and failed at every single one of them. I finally came across your video, and it was such a blessing! You taught me how to make my first successful batch of brittle, which my whole family loved! You teach with such Grace, explain everything in detail, and made me understand how and why certain ingredients are so important, (such as the baking soda, and raw peanuts) and didn’t make me feel stupid for not knowing! I loved how you talked about God! Everyone nowadays are scared to do so, so I love it when I find someone who actually does! Thank you so much for making this video! It was extremely helpful, and it came out absolutely delicious! God Bless you in the highest!!

As a suggestion I keep my cookie sheets in a 200° oven until ready to pour the brittle. The hot cookie sheet allows the brittle to spread easily keeping it thin. I got that from my Betty Crocker cookbook, the orange cover. I learned to cook using that cookbook. Thank you for sharing your faith.

I've been making peanut brittle at Christmas since 1968 & people love it! I learned about heating the pans from my cashew brittle recipe, but I go to 300° & it's great! I also lay a double thickness of a bath towel on the counter & place the hot cookie sheets on it. That gives the brittle a bit longer to spread thinner before it gets hard. I really want to try my hand at caramels!

@@rosemarycreollo4326 I hadn’t made Carmel’s in many years so the other day I was at my daughters and we were baking for Christmas, I thought I would make some……. Well my daughter is impressed telling me I made a pretty candy “tray” 😏
That pan of Carmel is harder than steel 😞
I ruined two batches of fudge too 😡
I should know better than have 3 things boiling on the stove at one time, I didn’t save any time by trying to be efficient 🙄🙄

If we're going to tell on ourselves, I have to admit that my 1st batch of peanut brittle came our hard as STEEL! Made it for my Dad (was his favorite candy) without a candy thermometer. I was too slow using the "drop in cold water" method that it cooked way too long! As far as I knew, he ate every bite of it - but you know how Dad's are! He said it was the best he'd ever tasted! One of my more precious memories. Wish I could make a batch for him today! 💕

Something I’ve learned over the years is that sometimes the Lord delivers us FROM the bad times and sometimes He goes with us THROUGH them-like the 3 Hebrew children through the fiery furnace-they didn’t even smell like smoke.

If you put your cookie sheet into the over set at 200 degrees it will warm the pan so that the peanut brittle will spread much easier.

I make mine in the microwave. Fast & easy. Have the local old time recipe. My grandma was the best cook. Live in the Peanut capital of the world slogan. Dad was a Peanut farmer so we had plenty raw peanuts.

Thank you Becky for this recipe. I have never made peanut brittle myself, but as you pointed out there are good peanut brittles and there are not so good peanut brittles. God bless you for the time you spend educating the rest of us, and thank you for your evangelism of God's word. Big hugs to you! xxxxx

I’ve always made mine in the microwave but this year just might try it on the stovetop. Usually use dry roasted peanuts but like the idea of raw. Thanks for the ideas Becky! Always love your inspirational thoughts!

The stirring is the key. I learned that anytime I make candy, stir until it's done. Thanks for the tip on raw peanuts. I had been using roasted peanuts. I'll give it a try on my next batch.

I just want to tell you that I enjoy your channel and we seem to have a lot in common. I’m also a Christian grandma who is still learning to put God first. I think if we lived close we would be good friends. Thank you for sharing your recipes. I have southern roots and all of your recipes are very familiar to me. One of the conversations we had around the Thanksgiving table this year is that one of the daughters-in-law needed to come visit and learn how to make my grandmother’s cornbread dressing as I’m the last in my family that knows how to make it since my mom passed away last year. Sad and beautiful at the same time. God bless you and your channel. ♥️🙏🏻

I love your videos Becky, I'm 51 now but started making Peanut Brittle a few times a year since I was 10-12 yrs old pretty much just like you did until a lady in our church (in our church cookbook) shared a microwave recipe. I was skeptical but tried it...LOL, it works so much easier and the results are the same so for the last 15 yrs or so that's how I do it. You just cook it about 4 minutes and stir, then 4 more minutes and stir. When it's close to done add the butter & vanilla, cook one more minute ish, then add the baking soda and pour it out. Love your Bible lessons as Well, praying for you alot, so sorry about you losing your husband. God Bless you all. Larry Robinson (Graham Tx.)

My mom used to make it when I was a girl and when she pulled it off the stove, she would actually butter her hands pull the brittle thin. She worked very quickly, It was so light and crispy. I have never had any brittle as good as hers! Thanks for sharing all your tips. I may have to try this.
