You guys weekly gross and take home is different for everyone. Everyone runs there business in there own way and handle expenses how they see fit to there own business so seeing gross is enough for all of you to make an educated guesstimate on how it go for you and how it go for you. Guess it’s a 10% of gross without including insurance and guess 20% gross if it includes insurance. Fuel and other daily expenses you can figure that out on your own for yourself. Gross is all you need to know and you c an go from there. Just my 2 cents on this. Hope your doing well and keep being successful for you and evryone else doing this or any journey in self employment and trying to be there own boss. Nothing but best wishes and luck to anyone who gets into this. 🙌🙌🙌
Well put, just showing real numbers, not saying this is the best or I’m rich because of June 🤣. It’s just what I did.
Load Mizer lol if your getting rich please let us know so we can get rich to 😂😂😂. If anyone thinks they getting rich they are dreaming. You get out of this what you put into it it’s that simple. Good see you out there getting that money and hope it stay that way.
Cosme Alvarez if you figure out how to get rich doing this don’t forget to tell me how too🤣. That’s right though, you give it everything you got, you’re gonna see it in the bottom line. I have the good days and the bad days just like anybody else. Just take what lands in front of you on any given day and do the best you can with it. 👏👍
Lol😂 y'all think yall cant get rich in trucking yall definitely wrong come to the heavy haul side of trucking and yall will start seeing some REAL numbers stack up 💪🏿
Joe Guerrero not for me. I’ve done plenty of OD/OW. Yes they pay great...but, I’m not a huge fan of waiting on appointments at both ends, waiting on permits, paying and hanging out with pilot car services the entire trip, driving on within the 30 minutes before to 30 minutes after daylight window, buying $1,500+ worth of lighting, being told when and where I can drive, detaching just to fuel, being able to park almost nowhere and the list goes on. Plus I’m not dropping the money on a triden truck, a RGN, flip axles...jeeps. You act like it’s just a gold mine. There’s more to it. Might be for you, not for me though.
I appreciate you keeping this real and providing such valuable information. For the guys looking to make this transition, that is what we need!
I been following tow piglet for a few weeks now and your video was recommended. Thanks for the info, I subscribed. Keep doing videos like this man 💯
TheFern Man thank you for that, I really appreciate it! I’ve been following Tow Piglet on and off for over a year now. Lot of good info on there. Hopefully I can provide the same volume of knowledge from my perspective. 👍👍
I appreciate your honesty my guy. I'm looking into getting into the industry, but I have to succeed for my future family sake. (If that makes sense) I want to get married and have kids, but I want them to have a good life. Right now I couldn't provide for them. So thank you for this video.
That’s great news to hear. I hope you keep up the monthly recaps while leases on to Tow Piglet. Thank you.
Shouldn’t be hard to do at all man, thank you!
Good on you! Many are afraid to put in the hours to be successful. Looks like you are off to great start!
I’m gearing up. That’s for sure!
Hope this connection works for both of you. Best of luck and run safe.
Thanks for that man, I appreciate it 👍
I’m glad to know that in these hard times, there is still definitely ways to make money. You’re the example. I guess all it really takes is some dedication and being open minded and it will definitely work. I’ve always heard truck drivers saying comments that hot shots don’t make any money, but in reality, once you factor in all costs, a hot shot seems to be the better choice. At least that’s my opinion from my own experience.
Lex Isf same here man. Did a lot of math and finally pulled the trigger. Haven’t regretted any of it. Wish I would’ve made the move sooner. 👍👍
Keep up the good work man, I'd love to have a nice boss like Alex.
I can't imagine driving across the country by myself. If I drove 3hrs straight in one day, I wouldn't wanna make a trip like that again for a week. You guys are a different breed that's for sure. I have no idea how you can even stay awake driving that many miles. It's insane to me.
Some of us enjoy driving. I use to drive cross country and I loved it!! I am so thankful to God that he gave me the gift of driving. I am currently hauling milk. I worked too many hours for my bosses that I went and bought a 40’ trailer and a dully hopefully by the end of this month I will send of for my Dot… yup I’m scared but it’s something I wanna do. A bit late in life but I love it!!! Have a beautiful and blessed day.
Good video, Brother. Love TP's videos and advice too. You were smart getting on with him.
Thanks man. He was pretty smart leasing me on too lol
@@LoadMizer 🤣🤣🤣. Touche'!
Yes! Keep those monthly reports coming! Thanks for sharing.
Will do! I’m not going to blow anyone away with amazing numbers. I’ve got a home life and responsibilities there lol. Just showing what’s possible 👍
Awesome stuff man! Keep hustling!!
Thanks man I appreciate that! I’m out here getting at it.
Good Luck with the adventure!
Thanks again 🤣
I want to do this so bad I can taste it. I’m going to get my CDL soon. I appreciate y’all taking the time to explain the process. Thanks! Safe travels!
Working for yourself yet? Curious how it’s going
Me too. Did you ever get that Cdl.
Awesome content. Exactly what I need to here. 💪🏽
Thank you, glad I could help out! 👍👍
There's some serious money in hotshot trucking! I'm in the process of getting my CDL right now, I plan to do OTR for 3-5 years to save up money so I can get into hotshot trucking.
Blink 3 times if you are okay! Damn this video starts off like a hostage tape.. can almost imagine someone off screen with a gun pointing at you lol just busting balls. Have fun
Lmao 🤣
That's hilarious 😂
My second good laugh of the day.
Yeah TP holding the water gun in a discreet location!!
good review man
Good luck. Seems like a good fit
Thanks man! We’ll see what the future brings!
Good job man yes more monthly videos will be great
Thank you for that! If that’s something you all show interest in I’ll make sure it happens. 👍
@@LoadMizer Thanks
I just subscribed bubba nobody ever puts the numbers out I appreciate that shit stay true good luck now that you’re on you’re own doing you’re thing 👌💪👍
Tyler Howerton thanks man I appreciate that! 👍👍
You're in it for the long haul now😂
You'll be servicing Mizer's trailer now...lol
That’s a great week 💰👍🏻
Thanks man! 👍👍
Great video. Thank you for the information.
Man driving like you willing to do the extra work you be killing it here where I work 👍🏼
Pretty good revenue for a week / month. What matters is what rolls to the bottom line.
Great work, brother!
Hey man thank you! I appreciate that!
That's a badass month bud 💪💪
It’s a pretty good average. I’ve had much better but it’s definitely not as bad as it could’ve been considering what all is going on. Thank you for watching!👍
Been following Alex for a while started driving for an outfit last winter and am in the process of leasing my truck on now ups and downs but it's been a nice change from oil and gas
I liked this a lot and learned a few things too. I suggest a video like this after the end of each month, with your best week that month highlighted in detail, exactly as you did here. Very good job. You might consider putting up a shot of Google Maps with each run displayed on the map after you talk about the details of that run. You know in troubled times as these, spending 8 days at home (4 weekends if they were equally spaced out) while still bringing in almost a thousand a day is nothing at all to sneeze at. My hat is off to you, well done.
I think the same Dave. I’m not trying to impress anyone with the numbers. Just showing what I did. I roll hard at work and I go home pretty frequently. I think a good balance of the 2 is paramount. Gotta enjoy what you do, getting burnt out is not the way to go! 👍
@@LoadMizer Dat board says the average for all regions have been 2.34 a mile. So your doing something right! And I like that TP is watchinging over you .I like this guy.. A friends, friend.
Awesome video I'm thinking about getting into this myself!
That’s great man! Keep doing what you’re doing. Research this to death and ask questions!! 🙌👍👍
Message me are you in Tennessee
Thank you for the info. Makes me wanna get rolling!
No problem at all man, happy to help.
One of your trailers is sitting at Kwik Star Clear Lake Iowa, has 1 1/2 ton older chev farm truck from North Dakota. Unit was broke down on interstate 35 a day or 2 earlier.
One of mine? They’re both here at the house.
Sounds good brother good luck Man good Information
Thanks man! Welcome to the channel!🙌👍
Good job man !!
Hotshot Haulers thanks man I appreciate that!
Better then a lot of trucks good job sir
Kevin Steward thanks man. Some months the cards just stack against us. Happens to everyone at one point it another. Just gotta keep pushing. 👍👍
Congrats man.
jam84 ** thank you! 👍
Great video !
thanks for your info just subscribed, hope you do more videos!
Great video, thanks for sharing. Id like to see a video show your gross after fuel and expenses to see a more realistic number. Thanks

There you go 👍
I’d like to see you break that down and see what your net profit after tow piglet gets his cut !!
Keep the content coming!
Thanks man, some days just don’t have enough hours in them 😂👍
That’s nuts... you made more money in 1 month than I make in a year... guess imma start hotshot sometime haha! Keep up the good work though!
That's $20,450 gross, remember that, he didn't tell u his expenses, but even then I'm sure u will still earn more then ur current job
@@onlyjuan23 Yes he did, $6,600 expenses
God Luck with the adventure!
Thank you 🙌
I would like to see you do more monthly totals vids . Ive always thought about doin hot shot . Im a class A driver , a company driver . I work a little harder to make my weekly check , then some of the other guys in my division cause i want to make money .
That’s a lot of hard work! Good job!
Thank you! Could’ve been some smarter work but it still paid the bills 👍
Love the silver truck so i’ll check out the channel 🤷🏻♂️
Would love to see a full break down after all expenses. We are doing rv transport not as lucrative as hotshot and we don’t have a cdl. Thanks for the video. We are doing our videos on getting into the rv towaway now and having fun doing them
I’m going to start breaking down all expenses from this month forward. Of course my expenses won’t be anyone else’s but it’ll be a good ballpark figure to go off of. 👍
That’s great! Subscribed! Good luck out there 👍👍
They won't do that because there's a big red line at the bottom. but thanks hotshots for keeping the D.O.T. off us real truckers 8*]
Do a follow up video. Double views 👌🏻
Keep em coming
Need more hours in a day sometimes 🤣
Good work
Found the answer below, Thanks
Good info, thanks!
Thanks man, glad you enjoyed it!
Good content. Thank you
😒 my bad.
i would really like to hear monthly updates
See hard can pay 💰 good luck 👍🏻
Thanks man!🙌👍
I knew I saw you at a small old pilot truck stop in Montana
Sure could’ve. I ran Montana a lot in July
👍... just curious on that video after you made 20 for the month how much should you really make minus expenses. Something else that would be great is a video on people starting out and insurance cost and info that would be super helpful
Very nice
Alex brought me here and I subscribed!! About to check out your old videos, good luck and keep trucking!!
Dave Edwards thank you man, I appreciate that. I’m not as animated as Alex but I’m transparent and that’s all I can strive to be 👍
Load Mizer Should have all your videos watched here shortly. You have great content and can’t wait for more!!
Dave Edwards thank you, I really appreciate that. Hopefully I have something for everyone, wish I had more content but I just started making vids in April. I try to push out 1 or 2 a week when time allows.
Same here
Congratulations
I appreciate that! Thank you 🙌
awesome.
i'm currently driving for indiana transport just started. Learning the ropes on being an owner operator but i may have to look into this; hell i just got the brand new 3500 ram (the one built for hotshoting) got it fitted out and i'm looking to move to KY later i'm in east texas right now. This looks to pay a bit more then the RV gig. I need to get a trailer and get loads on the way to elkheart. Trying to cut down on deadheading as much as I can.
I know the feeling there. It’s a pretty long haul to Elkhart from where you’re at.
Nice keep it up. 👍👍👍👍👍
Was that your pay after TP get his percentages?
Curious what the NET is? Thanks
Good for you
Angel Rivera thanks man!👍
I'm a greenboot. I have an F250. What do I need to do? Do I need to get another type of truck? Is Gooseneck Necessary? I really dont know where to start. Thanks for any information you can give me either here in the comments or in another video.
Good job
Thanks man I appreciate that! 👍👍
Best Week
If he has a truck through Enterprise for $.22 per mile and assuming worst case of $4 a gallon at 10 MPG.
Truck mileage charge 3788*.22 = $833.36
Fuel used @10 MPG 3788/10 = 378.80
Fuel Cost @$4 per Gallon 378.8*$4 = $1515.20
Truck mileage charge plus fuel $1515 + $833 = $2348
Gross income minus expenses $7500 - $2348 = $5152
Fact is, if 929.00 a day is your profit, you should have 10 trucks on the road by now. People lease on when they cant manage their own business
U r missing the weekly cost for the rental or lease costs with Enterprise
@@CarlosReni4510 that's included in the mileage. 1 was on a 5000 mike a month plan. 12 months cost me just over 19,000.00 for about 72000 miles
I’ve been always thinking about being a truck driver these past 4 years thinking of getting a CDL and all and it’s not until just recently I’ve decided to do research and talk to people about it, and I feel hotshot trucking might be a thing for me in the future. One question though, was this 20,450 not including expenses like fuel maintenance etc.?
No that was just gross. The reason I didn’t include all expenses was because everyone’s expenses will vary. Especially once you include your personal expenses. I did include expenses in the July video.
That’s an ok average for the month. It be will get better with time👌🏽
There he is! Hey thanks man, yeah it’s not my best month but I’ll take it considering what all has been going on. 🤣
Absolutely
Is that monthly pay before or after gas expenses
Is that a Dowden trailers hat???🤙🏾🤙🏾
Dowden Transport. Actually just went and saw Josh on Friday! 🙌 I worked for him when he started adding semi trucks to the fleet in 2018.
@@LoadMizer that's dope bro, I started hotshot last year when he started his trailer rental program.I always told Josh that if it wasn't for him my business wouldn't be where it's at today 💪🏾💪🏾
Inspiration for me to go from hotshot driver to owner/operator
If you know how to dispatch yourself it’s literally a piece of cake. 👍
Bro that’s so dope I would do the same 👌🏽
Where out of Ky are you running? I'm from Georgetown and have a new CDL-A!
I’m on the west side of the state in Murray.
I'd love to see fuel costs etc to get an idea of your actual net.
ruclips.net/video/ghEj4vFUPHE/видео.html
👍
Glad its going well for you so far. Just curious as to your truck and trailer setup. Are you CDL or non cdl?
Dale Nash I run CDL. Depending on how it’s distributed I can put about 17-18k on my trailer before I start maxing out my axles or the coupler.
@@LoadMizerI have a buddy that hotshots but he's been struggling some lately but still hanging tough. . Looking forward to seeing more of your videos. Have a great weekend.
Dale Nash man for a while I think most of us were just surviving earlier this year. June and July have looked pretty normal for summertime flatbed this year. Thankfully it jumped up. 👍
Good job. God bless
Thanks man. Same to you 👍
any recommendations for an f150 with max trailer tow package starting out?
You guys need a driver in Washington(pacific nw) haha. Currently cdl A. lol. But I want that ram 3500!
Hi. Hey, are the 20 gran what you put in your pocket, or is that before expenses?
That was the gross for the week.
Thanks brother!
What trailer would you recommend to start with? How do I go about getting IFTA stickers on a brand new f350? Trying to get started and currently have held a class A for 6 years
It all depends on what you plan to haul man, IFTA registration is a separate account but part of IRP registration, one can’t be done without the other. You’ll go through your state for that.
@@LoadMizer Everything l,was thinking a 40' with dove tail and ramps so I could haul equipment or concrete or etc
How often do you get home?
Those number was great,, excellent miles and the way you drove to catch each load. But how much of that you kept? How much was your over all bills, with gas food sleeping , truck fee, trailer , everything
Wilkins Wilkins 6,600
@@LoadMizer so you would say an average 22day work month you can pull in around $6600 take home? Thats not to bad in reality you gone 22 days , but home a week out the month. Now is this with fed taxes and state taxes applied ?
HadokenBDO no that was my expenses. I made 13,400 that month not counting taxes. But I never do. I claim 6 dependents and haven’t factored any deductions.
Did Piglet cover fuel or did it come out of that 20K
Get your CDL and you can make way more then hauling with your pick up.
Right On 👍👊
Thank man! 👍👍
Watching from Michigan... metro Detroit area
Awesome man!! Glad to have you!
Congrats b safe content good bro
Thanks man I appreciate that! 🙌👍
How much of that did you take home after Alex got his cut?
$20
Take out dispatch: about 12% or more for T.P.
Gas:
Insurance:
Truck payment:
Maintenance:
Still good money
Exactly..20k monthly gross isnt good
Dive in deeper! And do a video with Mr. Piglet as well.
Scott Richards if we can ever manage to cross paths over the road I’m sure it’ll happen 🤣👍
@@LoadMizer 🤣🤣
Big facts that’s the difference between winners and losers
Hi. I am on the waiting list for enterprise rental. Do I need to have the truck and trailer before I apply for DOT and MC, as well as commercial insurance?
DOT and MC will come first. Along with of course naming and establishing your business and filing with your state. You’ll need insurance in order to make your MC active and in order to rent the truck. There’s a 30 day period from the time your MC is active until you have to provide insurance for it. That’s the window you want to have the insurance and the truck and trailer ready to pull the trigger on. I’m going to make a series about all of this but there’s a lot I need to work out with it. I interviewed insurance today. Waiting on enterprise to say go with my vid on it and I have an appointment with my accountant to cover the first step in 2 weeks. There’s a lot to it. I just haven’t been able to lay it out yet on video.
Load Mizer ok thx, I need help with the permits, IFTA, TWIC, and other things to run in every state and not be hindered. I do have a non restriction CDL. People are trying to charge lots of money to get these things in order for me. Video and links would be awesome
SpearHead1011 I’m in the process of working on all of that now. 👍
U started with a fully loaded trailer ,, lol u guys kill me
I’ll drop you 5k if you’ll be so kind as to time stamp where I said that. I’ll wait as long as you need me to.
@@LoadMizer uhhh, yea simple , u started with Saturday, and Sunday , driving , did u not. So what day did u load duhh
@@slongtoolong6577 Friday?
very cool
Thanks! Glad you liked it. 👍👍
That is your gross. What did you net? or did I skip ahead and miss that?
That's pretty good for Hot Shot during this pandemic for a month. Shout out to Alex!
Richard Cole thanks man, I was happy with it. Had 2 terrible months before it.
@@LoadMizer Would worth it for me to get one and have a driver drive for me? Looking for other income stream,,something on the side
Great video but I’d like to see the breakdown after expenses/ Taxes otherwise it’s just gross pay and not a true breakdown for the month?
I’m in the trucking business and after expenses and taxes and lease % he is taking home around $450 a day it can vary but that’s from what he is averaging
Is it worth losing the lease percentage vs having own MC?
