Which pixel is the jumper
Ho ho ho
Feels like this video was recorded in 1969
I'm so stressed rn but you made LMAO
Atleast he tried
This worked for me yesterday. Thanks to the uploader for the help, I'd all but given up 👍
1. Turn off machine, disconect power lead, press power button to expell any residual power in the machine (and also did disconnect hard drive to simplify things).
2. Found CMOS Clear pins on motherboard.
3. Pulled off Jumper Cap off pins 1/2. (says Normal on the motherboard for pins 1/2).
4. Placed Jumper Cap onto pins 2/3. (which says CMOS Clear for pins 2/3).
5. I did power on the machine at this point (not sure if it helped or not, or necessary)
6. Turn off machine disconnect power again, put Jumper cap back onto pins 1/2 (normal position).
7. Power machine on (hard drive still disconnected).
8. Screen lit up and after about 30 secs the round swirl appeared and I'm able to get back into the Bios which is now reset to the default.
my pc doesnt turn on if the jumper cap is on 2/3
@@huhuproudparentakong12kids55 don't worry about it. As long as you've disconnected the power lead and pressed the power button with the jumper cap on pins 2/3, just replace the jumper cap back on pins 1/2 and power up the machine. Power back up and bios will be hopefully reset to default.
What happens if you are plugged in and turned pc on while jumper is on pin 2/3?
@@drexter09 no idea.
But the guys message above suggests his machine didn't turn on.
Other than that, I don't know. I was down this rabbit hole almost a year ago, and I'm not a professional, so it's not something I tackle every week etc...
Good luck 👍🏼
That's so ridiculous that we gotta do it that way
It's 2023 for cryin out loud
You'd think by now the manufacturers or engineers would come up with a physical button to push, similar to a reset or power button. It can even be tiny so not to be pushed by accident.
A button? I don't think so, maybe toggle switch, or a slider, it can't just short two pins, it has to disconnect 2 pins to defuse battety power to the board, and short 2 pins to discharge residual power from capacitors and auxiliary circuits.
You can technically fit a SPST switch to the jumper; but I don't think you want to be putting yourself in a position to reset your mobo that often!
Whoa. P4MDPT takes me back... that was what, 2003? Congratulations on keeping it working for so long!
Here on intel desktop board. Worked like charm!
Switched the jumper position, turned back on and the mobo immediately recognised it and let me get into BIOS.
i followed the instructions and it worked! Thank you so much!
What a fantastic tutorial. Thank you from Scotland. 🏴🥃
Thia is what i was searching for. Thank you very very much
I have asus p8h61 motherboard and I don't know where to put jumper back
Thank you very much, you help me a lot !!!!
I also have power pins, should i switch those too?
Make sure after placing the jumper on pin 2,3 you start your computer. Then you'll be prompted with bios setting. Reset the settings and than save. After that place the jumper back on 1,2 pin and restart.
Is it necessary to put the jumper back onto pins 1,2? I've had the cap on pins 2,3 for over a year now after a failed overclock. Pretty sure I tried to put the cap back on pins 1,2 before, but the computer would not boot even though the BIOS was at the default settings. Might have to try it again.
I assume, from a safety point of view, any time you touch the jumper the computer must not be powered?
How about if all usb port not detect can i do resetting i mean can also solve that problem?
Gracias amigo por tu vídeo nada más con ver me ayudo

bhai mujhe bhi batade kaise kiya 2 mahine hogye pleasse papa boht maarenge 😭😭😭
5 minutes? Did you make that nonsense up your self? You don't have to wait. It disconnects the battery and shorts the system so any capacitors are drained of residual power, It's instant.
Do u have to remove the complete motherboard detaching all the cables or I can keep them as is and do this reset?
@@JustGotALife No. You just have to turn the power switch off from the back of the power supply, or unplug the power cable from the power supply
Sir when I put CMOS jumper at first two pin my pc did not start and fan is off and when I put CMOS jumper my pc start but not open bios.my pc shows that CMOS CLEAR press F1 to boot and enter but I press the button and my keyboard is not working.please help me
Maybe you have missd some steps try again
TECHNICAL AMAAN nice
I know this is old but if anyone else is experiencing this issue and you have a PS2 port on your motherboard, you MUST use a PS2 keyboard (purple port) instead of USB while on the boot screen, since older PC's dont utilize the use of USB in the boot loader screen
Ni Thomas ma
Doesn't work. I've pulled the cmos batt, left system unplugged for 1/2 hour, moved jumper:
@#%$&@$ password is still there
Right exactly me too

I had to use a ps/2 keyboard, then set USB config for booting, then I could use my USB keyboard.

Suggestions: Use a pointer. Your finger is just too damned big. Next, use a tripod. All that shaking is too distracting and makes us seasick. Third, focus the camera. An unfocused picture is worth nothing. We can manage the accent if you will do the other suggestions. Thanks for the video.
I don't understand Hindu ! Can you talk in clear English please ?
