'Expensive' or 'not expensive' depends on area. In prime areas, there is a massive demand-supply mismatch, so you need to shell out more money. In the suburbs, the prices are far more reasonable.
@TravelVlogv, I'm the first time coming out for work from Mumbai to Banglore. Frankly say it's very expensive in terms of healthy food. In Mumbai, you will get good food at 60-70 Rs. I'm looking for a stay in the Banglore center city near UB City, it is really a headache for to me find out decent flat or PG. Good PG is located 7-8 Km from my working station but you know the traffic of Banglore. Also, good PG (In or near Koramangala) for example Colive or Zolo is expensive and has less area room. Finally, I saw lots of your videos about Banglore then I dare to decide to move out from my beloved state of Maharashtra, Mumbai the first time in my life. Of course, I got a good position in the IT development department of India's top private bank. So real motivation is you. 😃😃😃

Overall as software engineer I would recommend software engineers to live in Electronic city as in future electronic city will have Suburbun + Metro as Major attraction. I have lived in Chennai, Bengaluru, Mumbai (Thane) and Mangaluru. I have visited various other cities. Bengaluru might have the best weather, but can't be compared to Mumbai and the energy that is there. Mangaluru a much smaller city , but no less than any City.. please plan a visit to Mangalore during the 5 day car festival. Apart from this , Mangalore is the ice-cream capital of India.
All the flak Bangalore receives is not always genuine. I have travelled to almost all cities in India. Traffic is no different. When cities grow, the traffic will also grow. Bangalore has the highest number of cars and two wheelers, some home having 2-3 cars. You can get cheap rentals if you can explore. Bangalore food is one of the cheapest compared to many cities in India.
You covered almost everything. I moved in Banglore last month. If you really want a cheap way to live the best you can opt for is a pg. Im living in a pg and it costs me only 11k per month twin sharing with food. Also its near Ecoworld so its quite worth it considering the locality.
I may be transferring from Hawaii to Bangaluru (some may say I'm crazy lol) and compared to Hawaii, the COL of your city seems reasonable, but I guess it will all depend on the package I hope to offered...this video has been very informative and helpful
@TravelVlogIv I can tell that when it comes to local South Indian food, those smaller restaurants with very limited menu items and mostly takeaway and limited seating capacity has the best affordable dishes. For example, whenever I have breakfast at small restaurants, I always ask for half rice, half pongal, a single vada or single dal vada and last is coffee and tea. In total my entire bill will be around Rs 80, 85 or 90 depending how much one has eaten or can go about Rs 100 if one order full plate. When it comes to breakfast, I prefer those small restaurant as it's affordable and it's all home made.
Dear ivana , i am curious to know what would be the expenses in Netherlands if you consider the same 5 things you calculated in case of bangalore. I think 2 or 3 times
Just for fun and for providing a historic perspective consider the following numbers from 1963-67 when I lived in Bengaluru! Vidyarthi Bhavan Dose: 45 paisa; Lido movie ticket Rs. 1.40; Postage Stamp: 15 paisa. My father retired from government service in 1969 with a pension of Rs 400 per month. Our two bedroom house in 7the Block was rented at Rs 175 per month! Prasanna and Chandrashekar made Rs 400 per Test match. Wouldn't it be nice to make a Back to the Future movie based on Bengaluru.
I hear you with interest. Mumbai where I live is far more pricey! Even the traffic has to be seen to be believed. However Bengaluru sounds good! Congrats on being so settled in !

I guess I lived a beautiful live, because I will not survive two weeks. There is no amount of DEET that will keep anyone safe 24/7. Ofcourse I will wear loose bright clothes with long sleeves, but the Malaria mosquito will simply bite me in my face and that's it. I'm terrified and feel worried about my parents. They do not believe the risks and will obviously not cover themselves in DEET and loose clothes with long sleeves.
@kluunverbeek152 Doesn't change the fact that she was living in a safe country like the Netherlands and is now promoting a country that has tropical diseases.
