    I really love how you shaded that top white building with those wet into wet blues and purples! Just so well done!
    I still just go out and take pictures and then come home to sketch. I still don't have the confidence to go somewhere, sit and paint with so many people possibly watching me! It still seems so intimidating!

    Becky, I'm in a rehab facility after breaking my ankle. I have my sketch pad and paints. Your videos are so uplifting and I have lots of time to practice.

    Very nice job Becky! I love the way you painted that dog and those people, within the space they were sitting. It all gave a nice view of your morning in Vancouver.

    Lovely. Once again you have captured the lovely sunny atmosphere. I love what you do, and you must get great satisfaction painting plein air. I have been following you for a few years now and have watched you improve. There is no substitute for practice is there. Thank you once again.

    Mmm, crispy rhubarb danish with nuts!!
    I recently watched an old video of yours - sketching a banana as you ate it. So I did that today. I did 3 stages of the sketch. Finally, after the first bite, I just had to eat the rest of my banana. Having the discipline not to eat the subject is half the battle! 😆

      Good for you! 😁 Delayed gratification (not finish eating the banana and sketch it) is a great training for stronger willpower.

    You are showing me the advantage of painting what is close to the viewer first. Then moving towards the back of a scene. I think this helps getting the proportions right in relation to one another. Thanks!

    Hi Becky! Im shy but want to ask if you have art meetups in Vancouver? Just over coffee, maybe sketch casually, talk about art. I'd love to meet artsy people here but have no idea where to start. 😊

    Your coloring techniques is pretty much what I do with colored pencils.. Although most of the time I draw the scene with pencil first before I go over it with ink... But the coloring is the same with the brighter areas and darker areas and layers of color and details..

    • @BeckyCao
      @BeckyCao  4 месяца назад

      Yes, coloring techniques can be very similar between different types of art mediums, but we get different results and appearances. :)

    Becky...im honest here. I was following you but it kind of become very very monotonous...every video was looking same. No progress in learning. You are excellent artist...maybe im restless soul. Thank you 🙏

      Thank you for sharing your thoughts. My videos are meant to entertain and provide basic educational content to keep people inspired. To truly improve your skills, it’s essential to practice drawing and painting on your own. Think of it like watching basketball games-you can learn a lot by watching, but to really get good at the game, you need to get on the court and train.
      I encourage you to take what you’ve learned from the videos and apply it through regular practice. If there are specific areas or techniques you’d like more guidance on, please let me know. I’m here to help and want to make sure my content is as useful as possible for you.
      Thanks!
