Amazing as usual from them Bulbus Periphery peeps. So dig this sound. It's so beautifully heavy...it really takes metal some place further rather then spinning around in place and doing the same old same old. I dig Spencer as well, he's not cookie-cutter cookie-monster... the boy can sing :)

@ridealot100 i highly recommend you show the world how it's done. if you dont like spencer's vocals then that is your problem. your mind is too narrow to appreciate variety. i suppose if it was up to you every vocalist would have the same voice. you are a perfect example of someone who has too small of a mind to appreciate talent.

So what exactly is haunted shores? I'm a huge periphery fan and I just heard of "haunted shores" today. Is it like a side project or something? For the most part all I've found is periphery instrumentals.

+Mike Watkins So aside from the penisy comment above: The Haunted Shores is more Marc's riffs, recorded by Misha before Marc was in Periphery. They used to have a handful of vocalists sit in on certain songs. Although I like Spencer, Elliot Coleman(old Tesseract vocalist) is my favorite featured vocalist and I'd recommend anyone to listen to his new band Good Tiger. The songs Periphery and HS have in common were originally HS and were turned into Periphery songs after Marc joined.
+Sean Hamilton A great example is Scarlet. That was a song Marc wrote for HS but it made it on the Periphery 2 and it's one of the top hits!

well "re-did". i mean spencer sings in periphery and this song was written by misha which is the guitarist for periphery. i like that theyre playing it in periphery as it seems it otherwise wont ever get released on an LP.

...Passenger. they re-used the song and put it out as a single back in april. This however IS the Haunted Shores version. You can tell by Sponce's vox and the snare sound haha.

the drums seemed really off at one spot, but other then that it sounds fantastic, I dont know why everyone goes on spencer so hard though I think his range is fucking ridiculous, hes underrated imo

@ridealot100 I've seen them live as well. Your opinion is still wrong. Though I can agree that Dredg is an amazing band. And "djent" is a sound, though it's considered a genre by many now that it has expanded. It's been around since Meshuggah started it in 1987. It isn't going anywhere.

@kalloused Some stuff isn't all that bad, but I guess Misha neglects the fact that Spencer came out of the dark, when they finally were ready to release the album we heard demos with Chris and they did the Thrash and Burn tour with him. The album came out and it had different vocals(Spencer) voice. I give credit to him for vocals on Frak the Gods and Jetpacks but watching their videos on youtube his vocals really aren't up to par with the album.

@kalloused There obviously are a lot of fans that enjoy the vocals, otherwise the fan base wouldn't continue to grow. Misha chewed you out because you were insulting him, his project, and his friend by saying Spencer's vocals suck. Misha and the rest of the band chose Spencer, Spencer is working hard and doing well, AND people are enjoying it. Yes, you may not. You may know people who don't. To each their own. But keep in mind that you're insulting people with your words.

@kalloused so essiently your claiming that by adding more, they are subtracting...... great logic bud. if your saying it takes away from the complexity by being simple, then your wrong. if you take spencer's vocal melodies and break them down, youd find that hes fucked in the head. this guy builds insanely complex melodies and sings out of the scale, which most would think would sound bad but it works. plus immense range and perfect pitch. hes as good a singer as misha is a composer
