- Haunted Shores - My The Man featuring Elliot Coleman
Who says a slow song can't be freakin amazing?!
Haunted Shores dishes out yet another song with vocals by Elliot Coleman!
If you don't show some love to this band right nao I will haunt your dreams... and shores if you live by the ocean.
LYRICS!
I never thought that I could get in your way girl
I only wanted to show you my charm
I never thought that I could get in your way girl
I only wanted to show you my charm
Well here's to tonight where everything could be a moment of pure elation and sensory
Binary code revoke them of magnetic waste
The things I said i've never done
Speak louder then the silent ones
Still hold fast the day
I take a moment to examine my surroundings territories that crash and burn
I think the time and effort spent on this will make up for what I've never learned
There's a familiar trend
take everything and smash it to pieces
and it seems to me that something must be wrong
the pieces reform and sit collecting dust
there was a time when I could not stand
to take you on the thought of it frightened me
I never thought that I could get in your way girl
Bathed in blue light a city that quietly sleeps
I only wanted to show you my charm
Tired and true absences
I never thought that I could get in your way girl
Trust in me with confidence that everything will turn out right
I only wanted to show you my charm
What is my sincere

I'm here again still love this song over 12 years
Yup, wish we could get a fully fleshed out version of this song
if you all like Elliot Coleman's voice, check out his new band Good Tiger. They released a full length recently called "A Head FUll Of Moonlight" ex-faceless Drummer/current Ordinance Drumer Alex Rudinger is in and the guitars/bass from A Safety Fire - band is awesome check them out dudes..GOOD TIGER!
One of Elliot's best performances - if not the best!
This proves that vocal talent is important for a song
This is just beautiful
This epic dude sounds like Freddie mercury. I love the song
Geeze. Can you imagine if Freddie Mercury did metal screams? Id have one more reason to love him
the vocals + solo is moving man, very nice
Elliot Coleman has a fantastic voice...True talent
Wow he makes a good falsetto OMG. The best voice that i´ve ever hear. How i can imitate this voice? Im tenor, and baritone ligero?
His voice is very delicate (as you can tell) So don't try to chest voice the higher notes or you won't get that soft texture. Also know where your chest voice stops, and where your falsetto begins. It helps to know that so that you can know when you're about to start needing more air, so that you can be sure to keep from straining, and so that you don't force anything. Also, to make falsetto work, you must create space in your mouth and make sure it doesn't get too bright like Axl Rose or too dark like an Opera singer. Also, Air support and diaphragm and all of that other good stuff you learn to do when you start singing! :D Hope this helps!
such a classic... id love them to make a remaster of this one...
Looking forward to seeing what Elliot can produce with TesseracT. I personally don't think his voice would be that suited to some of the stuff on One, but I'd need to see it live to have a better idea. But when they start to write together I'm sure it will blow most of us away, except those who seemingly only like TesseracT for Dan's singing (not that that isn't a good reason to like TesseracT).
F
Play this at my funeral please...thank you good sir
elliots vocals were perfect for this song I like to think his dark rich vocals add fullness to the melodic airy riffs
He should have done his low screams instead of the middy ones. Still, the best clean vocals I've ever listened to.
But these growls remind me of Atreyu, awesome growls
the haunted shores are rightfully mine.
So is this what most of their songs sound like but faster? I love it~
i love this
THE TONE IN THAT SOLO. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Thank you song. You brought me happiness. I wish I could get Elliot to sing with me.
@JunyaYashiki It is the band "Of Man Not Of Machine" Mark Holcomb is a guitarist, Misha is the other guitarist. Elliot is the singer, Matt Halpern is on drums and Jake Bowen is on bass.
The guy whom many call the best vocalist in rock history.
Dude, this song is so awesome.
I fucking love Elliot's voice! cant wait for the new Tesseract shiet!
I cant get enough haunted shores. It's the only thing i want to listen to.
this shit is so good.
its all the best parts of periphery and bulb in one!
with that said, i love it.
word!! im looking it up right now thanx jelepard :]
Zelliack is by far his best project
Holy shit that was good. His voice melts faces.
this is so good.
it was a compliment.
Elliot does a lot of Haunted Shores stuff. He was also with TesseracT on their acoustic EP
@jelopard "On April 23rd 2012 Skyharbor will release a double disc album called 'Illusion' and 'Chaos' through our good friends at Basick Records. Keshav was kind enough to let me write vocals and feature on the whole of 'Illusion' two tracks of which were also shared with the amazing Marty Friedman and Vishal J Singh (Amogh Symphony / Vishal J.Singh)" Taken directly from Dan Facebook notes page.
You know all of Haunted Shores are in Periphery right
Haunted Shores should be a full time band with Elliot as the frontman. And Dan should be back to Tesseract. imo :>
Dayyymmm
i thought the same thing when i first heard this !! muse met metal they had a kid thus my the man .anywhere i can hear more of the vocalist???
@4stringFanatico 1000 albums with a 12 song average is 12000 songs. Most people have that on their ipod if not their laptop or home PC
Was that solo Mark's? That was so nice!
@SaraSchenstrom they also have a badass funfy sound
@ncct23 he's referring to the band Sky Eats Airplane.
this year for sure they said....
@LOKOMETASENJADOTOY Sadly not anymore since both Misha and Mark are occupied with Periphery, HS has some quality stuff.
@LordAkaneon How much have you listened to Tesseract? Their sound is not 100% unique, but it doesn't sound exactly like something else. They are definitely inspired by Meshuggah, and I think they sound quite similar to SikTh sometimes, and there's some post-metal to it too, at least imo. (Such as Callisto, Cult of Luna..) But what I really like about them is that they combine good technical skill with beautifully composed melodies.. But again, that's just me. It's my personal preferences.
don't forget breeweewee and chug chug *pinch harmonic* chug
Singing sounds like muse. I take back what I said before, the singing makes it better! at least with Elliot Coleman
i fucking love this song and this singer i'm so jealous that you somehow obtained the file for this song. i can't wait for this album to eventually drop im gonna shit a brick.
@Fingertap2002 Would there be any chance you know when any new tracks would be released? Awesome song!
lol elliot hates being compared to mattew bellamy, he said it many times, true story bro.
Hey Elliot is Haunted Shores/Omnom going to be releasing full lengths or are these just fun projects for you guys? Because I desperately want full lenghts!!!
Have you heard Dan in Skyharbor? He should definitely stay in that band imo.
4:48 bruh
@EternalNick93 amen brother
feel that rush of blood 2 the head listening 2 this song oh shit my head's bleeding
@EddyMorino Indeed it is!
Aha yes ^_^
What a fucking range..
Muse meets metal :)
@meshuggahgrey fuck it i love this song!!!.....fuckin' crazy great fun!!!!!
TUNE
@jelopard Dan Tompkins was on the first 7 songs of the album haha
@LordAkaneon I have about three thousand songs on my PC; about 800 on my iPod and about 200 on my Droid Bionic... I really don't think that's an accurate prediction of "the average music listener".
@supfiggy08 Yes.
He is on the entire first part of the album...obviously you haven't listened to it..
@jacosmith86 Their fans do. Every time I hear TesseracT talked about like they're some God-like band I just laugh. No one in the States even gives a shit about them.
Your opinion is invalid. What you meant to say was it's one of the BEST songs out there!
@LOKOMETASENJADOTOY
OMNOM is badass.
who the fuck would remove a comment from elliot himself on THIS of all videos?
Where can I get some more of those sweet clean vocals at?
Where do you download Haunted Shores's music at?
Muito boa
Can´t understand people who say Elliot sucks.
So when is the full length coming out?
Is this the guy from OMNOM?
wow the voice of Elliot Coleman is better than the singer of Muse. I like this voice.
@daddyssweetanne to each his own.
not bad.......little odd but i enjoy it
He was only a guest in one song
so haunted shores feats. awhole bunch of people?
@Djentleman511 Haunted Shores is releasing a full length later this year for sure.
@crow66693 Agreed. TesseracT wont have the same vibe they had with Dan.
@Irreponken You spelled genius wrong
@LOKOMETASENJADOTOY OMNOM???
@Fingertap2002 justin hawkins is awesome
hey where can i download this song
There's no doubt this guy is a good singer. I just don't know if he's right for Tesseract. Dan was perfect for Tesseract.
Hey dude, just thought I'd say - you have to click the reply button when you want to reply. If you just write their name and an @ sign they aren't notified and are less likely to reply because of this.
No, the albums itself says only one song.
@LordAkaneon Lololol, "average metalcore". They're probably best described as progressive metal, but with their own touch to it, absolutely nothing like metalcore. For a progressive band they sound nothing like Dream Theater either, and it's obviously nothing they are trying to do. The reason why people talk about them like "some god-like band" is because they are technically genius. You don't have to like their music, but you can't say that they don't know how to write quality music!
@robbec2012 No one is holding you back from not listening to them. Get out.
@SaraSchenstrom Lots of bands know how to write 'quality music', that's just it. Originality is why people listen to a band... The average person has upwards of 1000 albums now - What is going to make them listen to TesseracT over something else? Those of us that actually listen to music that aren't just trying to ride a trend. I'll give TesseracT this: I'd still rather listen to them than any of that mainstream pop music crap. With that said? Meshuggah, the original, is way better.
Sounds like a Misha solo to me.
fuck yeah. sit collecting dust
Elliot's voice is amazing, but I don't think what he's doing quite fits with the instrumental.
If this guy reminds me of anyone, his lower range is like Daryl Palumbo (Glassjaw), and his upper octaves are like Cedric Bixler-Zavala (Mars Volta, At The Drive In), he should be in a real NY Hardcore band, or a progressive rock/progressive metal band, TesseracT is an average metalcore band that believes they are fucking Dream Theater.
guy sound like freddy mercury.
@LordAkaneon bullshit 1000 thousand albums! im an open-minded musician and i have yet to reach that number. the average person my ass hahaha, but other than that i completely agree with your statement. Meshuggah is the shit compared to them
the vocal mix is really bad, Misha.... did you do this?
Yea, I was wrong.
