Amazing is a word not powerful enough to describe this song.
This song has some of the catchiest riffs out there, so listen to it, dig it, and show Haunted Shores some love on their myspace!

Wow, I never knew this was originally a haunted shores song.
I will never forget this instrumental.
I WANT this to turn into a Periphery song
It did.
Finally, I can Karaoke Scarlet!
Learning to love a disaster!
I just fucking rocked it! Might have broken some stuff, but that's art! LOL
***** Practice makes perfect! *cough cough*
I think the same way hahaha learning to love a disasteeeeeeer ♫♪
@@mademoissellecherry8784 learning to be a disasteeer!!!
Such an influential opening riff Scarlet is...I recall when I first heard this with a fresh set of ears and I was astonished by the dissonance and melody happening. This is why Mark is in Periphery. His riffing is fucking amazing.
2:35 always gets to me. Something about that melody that hits me right in the heart. I can't explain it. Thus the change in the image as you watch this. It's like a sudden impact of emotion that really digs in deep and shifts your thoughts in an unexpected way.
The sound of triumph!
2:35 Ultimate sadness, holy shit....
Quaker763 minor 2nds being used the way they should
All Periphery albums need to be released with the Instrumental tracks included. You hear so much more that way.
1:30 dem octaves...chills
no way its scias
Why does everyone think Periphery ruined this song? I thought the vocals were absolutely killer.
Because Periphery's vocals are a very polarizing topic among the band's fans, and many think they shouldn't be there at all.
I didn't know that. I love Periphery's vocals so I guess I never really cared that others didn't. I mean, I still don't care, but hey, at least now I know, right?
Boris Belilovsky
I am proud to be a fan of Periphery who likes Spence's singing. I get the fact that since he wasn't the original singer, some early fans have a gripe with the addition of Spence on vocals. Unfortunately, that's "artistic license" and the direction the band went. Look at Tesseract, amazing band, same issue with singers though. I personally appreciate each era for what it was. I highly appreciate Dan, Elliot, and Ashe's own unique styles and contributions. I like OMNOM because it's like Periphery with Elliot on vocals (and sometimes Misha).
I think in general I'm fine with Periphery's vocal performance/lyrics - but in this case it just seems very cheesy and forced for this song.
mynameisofnomatter Vocals on Altered State were amazing... Probably my favorite. But One was amazing too. Hard to pick a favorite :O
This song seriously blows my mind every time.
HAUNTED SHORES?!?!?! WHERE THE FUCK HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE!?
you and me both... damn
svtcobra666 In the band called Periphery.
What the guy above me said. Scarlet appears on Periphery II: This Time It's Personal in its full, vocals-including glory.
***** Haunted shores was around before Periphery not sure if you know
+svtcobra666 Uh, haunting shores? xD
Amazing guitar work - love this uplifting metal. I spent hours last night learning just the intro riff and chorus to this song. Cant wait to be able to play along to the whole track. 10/10.
Good jam for sure. 7 years later, you got any other suggestions for uplifting metal? Lol. Looking to expand my playlists
@@BloominOnion1 stephen taranto - quantum leap
@@BloominOnion1 honestly alot of periphery can be very uplifting. Also check out disperse, aviations, arch echo highly recommend GREAT bands with amazing musicians across the board.
Being a Periphery song means that Spencer is going to be tearing it up on vocals! And it also means that the instruments will sound incredible. Awesome sounding live drums, fat bass, thick and rich guitar tones :) If you've been checking out the Periphery studio updates, you can hear for yourself just how good this song is sounding already.
This track is amazing with or without vocals man....this is my jogging song.
Im so glad I stumbled upon this in my random search for videos.
This song brings a tear to my eye. It's so beautiful.
Misha is the man, he has created some of the best music I have ever heard.
Haunted shores is more Mark's thing but what ever
This song is in the new Periphery record people, they said it will be. Passenger was released on the Special Edition of their self titled album.
Goddamn, I don't want this song to stop.
seriously.. best instrumental i've heard in my entire life
took me forever
but after three months I finally know all the lyrics
How are all Haunted songs so damn good?! It's unreal I swear.
this song just has the best/catchiest melodies
One of the most beautiful songs.
I'm a big fan of Periphery. I was listening to this thinking. Oh my God. This band is freaking awesome! Then I read the Description and saw "Misha". OHHHHHHHH. THTA'S WHY IT'S SO FUCKING GOOD.
cant wait to hear what Casey Sabol and Becca Hollcraft's vocal parts sound like
CANNOT WAIT to hear this on Periphery's new album, I'm seriously giddy
This song!... NO WORDS CAN DESCRIBE!
Actually it was Misha (Bulb) who wrote this songs. If you search it you will find it in demo version (that he has made). Then he used it with Haunted Shores and then with Periphery. :)
@LOKOMETASENJADOTOY I know exactly what you mean. I love this part, it makes my spine shiver. Any form of music that does that is amazing in my book.
Haven't heard this version since I was 17
Nothing makes you rethink your life more than a wake and bake and Scarlet instrumental..
How is this gonna sound with vocals? Probably even more awesome.
I have good news for you!
"Tearing it up" is an expression. I just mean that he'll be kicking ass and doing an amazing job. There's a snippet of him singing on this in one of the studio updates, and it sounds quite frankly incredible.
finally 1000 subscibers PotatoBokChoy Congrats!!
@JJakaThaNiitemare Both guitarists of Haunted Shores are members of Periphery, so they decided to use some Haunted Shores songs in the new album
periphery stop touring for now and get this album doneeee!
Gonna be the best song on Periphery II.
have been listening to this song over and over again hahahha. never has a type of music like this been able to do this. bulb's stuff doesn't get old either.
@Flash447 Passenger was a bonus on the UK version of the first Periphery album. Spencer sang over it and everything
Im just a fan of instrumentals but i cant sing at all so i gotta give props to Periphery's singer it takes alot of talent/practice
those haunted shores are my birthright.
well with mrak and misha now in periphery i expect more songs like this!!
spence is gonna rock this song, im excited
@JMHoughes Thanks, I just recently got into this side of metal about 4 months ago when I finally got around to looking up Icarus Lives after hearing it on the radio a while back. TOTALLY WORTH THE SEARCH heheh. Now I got all of Misha's solo work and other Djenty bands like Periphery. Cant wait to get my hands on this album once it gets into Itunes...
Goddamn this song fucking kills when you crank the bass up.
can't stop listening....too high class
I love it! Can't wait for Periphery's new album. My favourite band. My tears are falling everytime i listen self-titled album...
This is GOLD
possibly the best thing I have heard in a a while.
No matter what you think, it is going to be on the new album. Watch their studio updates and learn.
@BeforeThePlagues no dude it's a periphery song now. It will have vocals on the new album. Since Holcomb joined Periphery.
I LOVED the guitar tones on the album more than these in the instrumental, and the vocals were fantastic! But, at least for me, this song was born to be an instrumental. But, in the end, it's just a matter of what each person likes more.
djentle you say? you must have had a djug of ipa for breakfast. this shit is heavy
@LOKOMETASENJADOTOY
No shit for real?!? That needs to happen. Especially with all this epic melody being thrown around
@onoxtracks it already is a periphery song if you've been watching their studio updates
Scarlet is on Periphery's second album "this time it's personal"
@JJakaThaNiitemare Because Mark Holcomb and Misha Mansoor were Haunted Shores, but now Mark joined Periphery.
Pure fucking majesty! Just recently discovered this album although been a fan of Bulb for a few years. Just absolutely brilliant - inspires me practice and write more :)
Hayato from Cyclamen or Daniel Tompkins should do the vocals for this, they'd fit the track really well
@GTaowa OHHH, but you know its gonna kick ass!
so pumped to hear this on periphery II!
Mark needs to write more of Periphery's songs.
@4gNWProductions I highly doubt it, because Haunted shores is like a side project, but you can still buy it at bandcamp.
What do you mean periphery ruined this song? They basicly wrote it . both misha and marc were in haunted shores
+niko22225 who are you talking to? you didn't reply to anyone lol
+joey kimble yea I used to have a shittu phone which wouldn't let me reply in comments back then, but someone commented that periphery ruined this song
+niko22225 funny how this has come full circle after a year
+niko22225 Mark said in an interview he went over to Misha's house with 3 riffs in mind and they wrote this song together in the course of an hour, so you're absolutely right this song belongs to both of em.
+Walter Wright source please?
@metalbone Well. Actually he's only in one band right now... Though he's the guy who produces a lot of the other bands. His old neighbor Tosin from Animals as Leaders, Veil of Maya, And so on...
That fucking intro grooves fucking hard.
Learning to love a disasteeeeer
Can't wait to hear the album version!
mark holcomb = coolest dude
Theres a video of Mark Holcomb tracking this on a beastin' blackmachine on a periphery studio update, maximum excite!!! Surely Spencer vocals on this will kill...
yeah yeah it's gonna sound awesome! i'm just saying that it doesn't matter if this is a haunted shores song, because haunted shores is the same as periphery.
Haunted Shores kick ass! i just got shivers down my spine!! Shivers = epically winning good music!
bluebirdmoment
Such a Djentle piece.
I LOVE this tune ... WITHOUT VOCALS !!! 😎 PLEASE write more instrumentals !!!!
>Telling someone to kill themselves over preferring instrumentals
Yeah okay that... that seems like a completely proportional and fair response, right?
really nice to see this on the new periphery album :)
it is, it´s named the same, passenger is also a song they took from this
Holyshit dude! THIS IS MY JOGGING SONG TOO! I get all energized when this track kicks in, haha, mad props to you!
SO MANY REASONS WHY ONE SHOULD NEVER ENTERTAIN THE TASTE OF THE RED!!!
FYI Casey (the original singer of Periphery who sang Icarus Lives, Inertia etc) was supposed to do vocals for this song when it was Haunted Shores!!! that would of been amazing
Two versions of this song were released under two different bands, and after approximately 2 years, this is the only version of the song that I enjoy coming back to.
why?
I WANT AN ALBUM!
@theflawedspecies Correct. Spencer is seen in one of the vids tracking it. And mark is in another vid tracking guitars.
My fav song ever
Watch this band people! When they get vocals they're gonna be the next Periphery.
I agree. I kinda like Periphery but not so much that I listen to more than a few songs. After hearing HS, my first thought was this is quite a bit better than Periphery, I'd definitely come back and listen to their whole catalog.
one of my favorites by haunted shores :]
How can you dislike this?...
Mark actually wrote this song, Misha just played the other guitar part.
thanks for the info dude... been digging into periphery lately :D
I really love them.. Keep it metal \m/
i agree with your agreement
it was written by periphery members who are in haunted shores
Best Riff ever.
you can preorder it on iTunes now. comes out July 2.
I agree with your agreement to agree
Haunted Shore is the shit!!!! This is great!!!
Just so everyone will stop bitching, periphery did cover this song, the two guys who made this song are in periphery, so they just are like hey bro we wrote this one song lets actually make it legit and add vocals and stuff with our whole band
@SimpleImp They're actually gonna release 2 albums, one of them called "Periphery 2: This time it's personal" and the other one is "Juggernaut"
