I went to a Periphery show in 2017 and came to the meet and greet before the show. I brought my PRS Holcomb SE to show Mark. When I showed him, he ran to the back and brought out his Private Stock 7 string and switched me so I could play his guitar and he could play mine. It was a special moment. Such great guys.
Killer guitars, but I’ve never liked the look of the single coil size paired with a humbucker size like that. I love the sound options but I guess I’m ocd with aesthetics when it comes to 2 pickup guitars. I just prefer both pickups to physically match. lol even a tele custom with a humbucker in the neck looks off to me. I can’t help it.
Chris, John and Perry are unbelievably great interviewers. Part of my job involves on-camera interviews, and I strive to be like these guys one day - lots of nuance in getting people to open up/have a good time
Y'all have the worst luck with having the reverse "beep beep beep" in the background during these rundowns. Props to the bands and interviewing crew for not letting it ever sway them.
Thx PG; love these guys and their continued 'all in' attack to dominate a genre. Remarkable shows and for fans 'of a certain age' this ensemble *rocks*. Thanks again to everyone!
@@jus10_lee From what I understood, Fred and Marten didn’t hate it but it didn’t do what they needed from a boost. The Precision Drive is more like a TS808 with more options while Meshuggah use a TC-style EQ boost.
They like the precision drive and used it on the new album. what are you talking about? They said the gate was bad (which it is) but that the pedal itself is good.
I saw them in Kansas in March. first concert i had ever been to, and i highly recommend seeing them live. I also met Matt and caught Mraks pick! definitely a day i wont forget.
That's one of few beefs w/PRS is what Mark mentioned. Basically, Paul won't do something unless a celebrity wants it, then he'll come on board. I'd like to see something in between - their standard radius is 10". Mark's is 20". I'd like to see 14" to get the best of both.
@@Spidouz I suppose, but I also saw Paul say he came across a couple of old LPs that were 10" radius which sounded like a justification. Not sure what tools they had at that time there, but I feel pretty certain they didn't have a pile of radius blocks and told everyone to pick whichever they felt like. I think he wanted to not be seen as "copying" Gibson.
this would have been so useful about 2 weeks ago... I Wrote a whole essay about how the band use methods beyond recorded music to make money and listing and referencing all of the most up-to-date signature equipment took forever.... I could have just referenced this video and been done with it...
@@Hell_Inc Only negative I can say for me at least is when I put new strings on it the first time. I always preferred heavy gauged strings. But I had to adjust the neck while I did it. @@josuastangl7140 it's here on RUclips in the "making of" documentary. He uses that setup for the vast majority. Then there's two other basses that he also used with a different preamp. Nolly goes over it all pretty quick.
I'm surprised they didn't have Duncan/Dimarzio/Bareknuckle tweak the pickups in their Evertune guitars to more closely match their guitars with the stock bridges.
Im not a fan of Periphery I just really enjoy watching rig rundowns. I really like how they go the extra mile to make sure the live sound for the fans is as good as possible. I've been to alot of shows lately that just sound absolutely terrible. Also the Halcomb Prs is hands down one of the most comfortable guitar I ever played.

I’ve always liked Jake’s guitars and personality the best. His gear tends to be form over function, I like that, he’s a straightforward player with nice looking guitars who only makes necessary adjustments to his instruments
Did mark just say that prs is gonna be producing his eight string models or was he just referring to his personal guitars? Because Id buy a production model 8 in a heartbeat.
3 guitars and no bass? I don't understand why they don't hire a bassist for the tour? Me personnaly, Live i wan't to see a band performing together, not playing along bass tracks.

thats sick, did he sign it?
I love how Jake, Mark and Misha are becoming Rob Flynn, Chris Cornell and Tom Araya little by little.
😂 holy shit you’re right
Who’s who?
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Jake is Rob, Mark is Chris and Misha is definitely Tom😂
Nah, Misha is Robb
Jake single-handedly keeping the LA custom shop in business must be like 8k per guitar
It must help that he is a signature artist and sells guitars for them, but yes, it's just massively impressive. They must feel and sound amazing too.
All the dudes in Periphery are financially savvy.
Fr. Good to see Ibanez getting some love in a sea of Mayoneses.
Misha was recently auctioning his guitars and some were past the 8K range, especially the custom shop Jackson extended range ones 😭😭😭
Jake's guitars are a gift from god. every single one of them look phenomenal

Jake's Ibanez models are absolute perfection
I didn't know Wes used a 27-fret and went past the 24th on his guest solo. What a dick move. 🤣
Yeah haha and he also did it in standard E, so even with also 27 frets, Jake has still 2 more to go in Drop C
nono he was Just in e standard. no 27 frets at all

The show must go on ... both in terms of the Rundown AND concert!
I don't often watch rig rundowns, but it's really nice when the interviewer knows their stuff, and the interviewees are willing to discuss.
marks custom shop story is insane. imagine buying that for $200
I love the RGA body shape. I wish Ibanez offerred more color options.
Agreed, I feel the same with the RGD, the bevels just speak to me 😂😂
Jake bowen is looking more like his uncle Petrucci
Which is especially wild since I don’t think they’re related by blood lol.
