WOW, Brad this is certainly the best Local Legends you've put out and it's amazing. The little things that really add up to telling the story like the timeline, and visiting with his mentors I really enjoyed.
I came to say the same. Brad is so respectful and has such a damn good time with all of the Local Legends. I've always said he's Bourdain crossed with a golden retriever. ❤
Action Bronson and Joe Rogan recently did an episode of F*ck That’s Delicious with Kareem as well! Super cool to see him get the recognition he deserves!
Wow Brad this was like having Anthony Bourdain back. Absolutely beautiful!! Made me want to go to Texas!!! Please keep this up!!! I love all your shows but this one was really freakin good. I love you man!!!
Well Kareem and Brad, just by sharing the tales of your 'dark tunnel days' you're giving a little glimmer of light for those of us that might be reaching through the darkness in our own tunnels. Brad I hope you know how much of a treasure this series truly is for us out here watching.
This episode should honestly be considered for an Emmy. Hell of an Episode. I was introduced to the Egyptian Cowboy on Barbecue Showdown and could tell he had a gigantic personality. This just confirmed it.
Dude, I'm popping my commenting cherry to say that Kareem is the most lovable and wholesome subject I've seen on Brad's channel, nay all of RUclips. It brings me such joy to see someone chasing their dream and working to make it happen. Best episode of Local Legends, hands down. Next time I'm anywhere near Austin I'm definitely going to check out KG BBQ. Also, I may or may not have shed a small tear when they showed Kareem getting his citizenship.
This man had a life's JOURNEY because brisket was so damn good. That's so awesome. Kareem you're an awesome dude and I'm glad you found so many awesome people to help you.
First of all just gotta say, What an absolutely magnificent mustache this man has. Also, these series have brought me so much joy and entertainment, idk why I tend to get emotional watching these but I love how Brad will find these REAL awesome people doing REAL awesome things with what they're passionate about. Local Legends is definitely one of my favorite series on YT.
I remember seeing Kareem in the BBQ Showdown and telling myself that this guy is the real deal. So glad to see him getting more attention! Also editor killing it again; the equations flying around brad's head had me dying.
This episode takes me back to watching “No Reservations” with my mom. The storytelling. The poignancy. The joy and love wrapped tightly around something so universal…food. Well done Brad and the team! Excellent work.
I was in Austin in February and ate at KGBBQ and it was by far the best BBQ I had during my month-long stay! I also had the pleasure of seeing Kareem and Isabelle absolutely TEAR up the dance floor at Sagebrush and can confirm that this man is someone who can dance just as good (maybe even better) than his BBQ tastes. I chatted with him very briefly after watching him (in awe) dance and he was just such a nice and warm guy. I've told everyone I know who's heading down to Austin to go to KGBBQ because it's perfect. Great to relive part of my vacation in this heartwarming episode. Thanks Brad & Crew!
Wow, Brad and Team, you manage to make me, a vegan, watch a video about brisket because it's not only about the food and more about the amazing person and their story behind it. Keep up the amazing work!
Such a sweet story. And really a beautiful depiction of what cultural appropriation isn't! Starts with curiosity, appreciation and grows into love and respect! You can tell this man really loves his craft, respects others in it, and it's so infectious ❤
I’ve seen several videos with Kareem but this is the first video that actually showed Kareem and his story and it made the food part so much better. Great job as always Brad!!!!
Everyone who watched Netflix's American BBQ Showdown absolutely fell in love with Kareem. He's such a gem!💎 How good of you to shine the spotlight on him!
This is single handedly the best video ive ever seen. It hits in the perfect time where all i crave is bbq, but have not a single place for miles that serves stuff like this. Thanks Brad for showcasing such a wonderful story with us
I keep thinking “this is the best episode,” no, “this one is the best episode,” but these just keep getting better and better i absolutely loved this one i almost cried. What a beautiful story and I loved that you enjoyed and showcased the best parts of Texas. Been wanting to go to Kareem’s since seeing him on Netflix, I think now I’ll book a trip. Thank you!!
New favorite LL. Kareem kicks ass, and has such a wonderful laugh. Love when Brad has a guest he can make laugh a lot, the chemistry was great. I hope y'all do more together in future!!!
His story is more then inspiring. The people who saw his passion and genuine love was seen and bless those who saw and admired him for that. Not competition, comradery. I hope nothing but the best for this man and his dream come true❤
No exaggeration that shot of Kareem's barbecue plate made me tear up. These kinds of videos and people truly inspire me to live life, try new things, have an appetite, and share experiences with others. Awesome stuff Brad.
One of my favorite episodes to date! Not to take the spotlight away from Kareem but when you were speaking about taking a leap of faith I thought about the leap you must have took to start this channel. I’m sure it hasn’t been easy but I’m sure it’s all worth it when you get to meet people like Kareem and tell there stories. Very inspiring stuff Brad, thank you!
Local Legends is one of the best shows to hit youtube, period, and this episode is an exemplary example of that. What an inspiring story, along with delicious, gorgeous food. I just moved away from Texas, and I can't wait to go back, even if its just to try some of his barbecue!
Kareem's entire outlook on life and philosophy is so inspiring - he's so dedicated, hardworking, humble and radiates the best energy! Feels like he touches of lives of those around him in the best way possible :'D This episode alone is pushing me to plan a trip to experience this wonderful culture! My fave episode so far!
Brad's video on Chef Kareem singlehandedly makes me want to visit the States (Texas specifically) for the first time in over 5 years. Thought I'd tried it all, but then new ideas are always on the horizon there. The U.S. might just be my forever vacation home...
This episode made me laugh, cry, get goosebumps, salivate and want to move to another country with just a dream in my heart! Thanks for sharing Kareem with us, Brad. You are both legends x
Absolutely amazing. You are such a gifted storyteller. Kareem, I’m so glad you found your passion and never gave up. My world is better knowing you are in it. Just blown away.
I saw Kareem on BBQ Showdown and immediately respected him as a person and a pitmaster. This guy was so interested in Texas BBQ that he left a good career in Cairo, Egypt to move to Texas, train his ass off and realize his dream. One of the nicest, hardest working men in the hyper competitive Austin BBQ scene. Kareem deserves every ounce of success that he earns!
We love KG Barbecue. In a town saturated with smoked meat, his is unique and his sides are phenomenal. Lucky to have his truck so close by. He’s holding his own and innovating ❤
AWESOME episode. I love watching when people who find each others passion about similar topics. These two will be lifelong friends from here on out. Everything Brad is doing, I back hard.
Brad, your videos never let me down! Such a great episode that made me laugh out loud and want to cry at the same time. Great production and such an awesome LOCAL LEGEND!
Wow! Beautiful people with truly inspirational stories. Kareem pursued the dream of his life with passion, inner strength and endurance. Not for a second he put his belief away. I wish all the best for him. He's one of those people who really make this land a great land to live and prosper.
Each LL episode I think to myself, 'this is the best one yet!' then the next one becomes my favourite. This was awesome, what a guy Kareem is, love that easy laugh. We need more Brad and Kareem content, please do a trip to Egypt together
Loved being introduced to Kareem on BBQ Showdown and so happy to see you putting him front and center here. He’s got an infectious positive energy about him and I believe he’ll go far in whatever he sets his mind to.
Can’t wait till you have millions of subscribers and viewers every video!!! You deserve it bro!!! The production quality, natural comedy, and expert cooking skills it’s all there!!
This has been, by far, my favorite episode you have ever done. Every local legends you do are amazing, but I am 💯 in love with the Egyptian cowboys love of life and his passion for food. ❤❤❤❤

Great episode Brad! Keep it up! Kareem, I'm an Egyptian who also is going through the dark tunnel phase you were talking about. Trying to live out my dream out here in the west as well. I was very happy when I heard you talking about this because it made me feel l wasn't the only one having a tough time. People like you are why I'm proud to be Egyptian.
What an inspiration Kareem is. I myself am at a bit of a crossroads myself about to “walk thru the tunnel”. This was exactly what I needed to see at the exact moment in my life. Keep up the strong work Leone. Chef love from Chicago❤
Freaking phenomenal work, guys! Made me tear up so much, especially at the end. When I get the chance to finally head down to Texas, I have to make a mental note to go see Kareem and his truck no matter what. Love all you do, Brad!❤ Thanks for creating this lovely series for all of us, and showcasing the best kinds of people in the food industry!🤙
Only seen Kareem once on a BEFRS Video but he seemed so genuine and nice and enthusiastic I was sad there wasn't more. Leave it to Brad and the Team to step up and give this Local Legend the Love he deserves ( Not that Sonny didn't but you know, normally hit's like 7 Spots in one Video lmao :D ) Never stop doing this please
WOW, Brad this is certainly the best Local Legends you've put out and it's amazing. The little things that really add up to telling the story like the timeline, and visiting with his mentors I really enjoyed.
Glad you enjoyed it
I enjoyed this as well. It was reminiscent of Chef's Table on Netflix. Truly inspiring person, and truly inspiring story telling.
Still, the cast iron one is one I rewatch often. The chemistry in that one is infectious.
This is easily the best travel/food show since Bourdain. Hell of an ep!
was just thinking the same
Well said, you aren’t wrong.
You should check out Dirt with Josh Rosen, think you’d like it
Without Bourdain's ending tho plz and thx
I came to say the same. Brad is so respectful and has such a damn good time with all of the Local Legends. I've always said he's Bourdain crossed with a golden retriever. ❤
I've said it multiple times throughout this series, but whoever is finding these people deserves a RAISE! This man is an absolute gem.
Action Bronson and Joe Rogan recently did an episode of F*ck That’s Delicious with Kareem as well! Super cool to see him get the recognition he deserves!
Also a very viral video about him a year ago from Brad's former employer :D
This dude has absolutely blown up and has been featured everywhere over the past year. I live down the road from his spot.
I love Kareem's laugh. He seems like such a cheerful guy. I will definitely be by KGBBQ next time I'm in Austin!
Man, this episode was a banger! Anthony Bourdain’s spirit lives on.
Wow Brad this was like having Anthony Bourdain back. Absolutely beautiful!! Made me want to go to Texas!!! Please keep this up!!! I love all your shows but this one was really freakin good. I love you man!!!

I got teary eyed too. Lol hugs!
Yeah got me in the end
Got me, too.
Right😂 "Why am I emotional over BBQ?"
Well Kareem and Brad, just by sharing the tales of your 'dark tunnel days' you're giving a little glimmer of light for those of us that might be reaching through the darkness in our own tunnels. Brad I hope you know how much of a treasure this series truly is for us out here watching.
I love seeing food bring people together.
This episode should honestly be considered for an Emmy. Hell of an Episode. I was introduced to the Egyptian Cowboy on Barbecue Showdown and could tell he had a gigantic personality. This just confirmed it.

Sumac onions. I could hear the adoration in Brads voice....
Somewhere in the distance, Andy felt a chill go up his spine.
LMAO I'm glad someone else caught that. the "oh no...." after
Also was sent back to putting sumac in whatever it was in the BA special 😂
@@oliviahondas7470 It was cranberry sauce in perfect Thanksgiving iirc.
