    The humorist dialogue is so witty. The story is funny. I laughed out loud at least three times. It's a great film. A must-see romcom - one of the best ever.

    I agree with A.O. Scott. The three Hudson/Day/Randall films were in a class by themselves with this one being about as good as a romantic comedy can get.

    I agree with the critic: The three Doris Day/Rock Hudson movies are the definitive rom-coms and still the best. I'd add one thing though. Imo When Harry Met Sally was up to that standard.

      I hated when Harry Met Sally. The characters were unlikable. I’ve never enjoyed a Meg Ryan movie. She plays completely pathetic, insecure characters which Doris Day would never play. Doris was always intelligent, strong and capable. She represented women well.

    Doris Day and Rock Hudson had a lasting friendship, developed because he was homosexual and actually a light weight male (where women were concerned) and she was the strong one highly talented and a confident actress.His career depended souly on his good looks and he knew it some actresses gave him a hard time on the set behind the scenes.He and Doris Day had a warm recipricated friendship, that lasted long after their three memorable films together had ended.
    Her wonderful warm outgoing nature and confidence he responded to.Her loyalty and loving support endured through his long illness with aids,in this film I noticed she had lost a bit of her Joie de vivre but her talent was still there.(Maybe around the time she discovered her then husband was sending her broke with his bad investments of her money).
    What a joy these films are after the awful stuff churned out today.I could actually relax and laugh and enjoy.Two very beautiful people too.

      @@gabrielguzman6018 Probably homophobia. Men who are secure in their sexuality don't have a problem with gays but sexual insecurity is a prominent feature in American culture.

    Sexual chemistry between Rock Hudson and Tony Randall??? They barely appeared to have a friendship in these movies. Tony’s character always whining and Rock’s character only tolerating Tony’s for his own personal benefit. One is clearly the alpha male and the other was lucky to be in his presence.

      Tony Randall was to beta males what John Wayne was to cowboys.

    • @johnn.5033
      @johnn.5033 Год назад

      I think he was making a comment more on the fact that for Rock and Doris supposedly being romantic interests of each other, they didn’t really have any chemistry, which is strange for a romantic comedy. He was using the reference to Tony Randall more as a humorous comparison than being literal. He wasn’t explicitly stating that Rock and Tony were attracted to each other.
