@djm151071 Yes, I became aware of that error after I posted. But 1 thing good about Cloughie, was that he would never tolerate such behaviour like Burn's. Also perhaps that 0-3 defeat at Arsenal might have been the turning point in our season. We went on to sign Shilton and never looked back after 3 early defeats.
Honestly Forest were just that damned good that year and could have so easily won the FA Cup and achieve the still impossible treble of domestic trophies. It took 1 wonder performance by Albion to us and given how strongly we finished the season, that was a remarkable achievement for them, only to lose to Ipswich next. I dare say, we would have probably defeated Ipswich and would have only Arsenal to contend with for the Cup, but we beat them twice that year I think.
Thanks Paul-another good season. Some great sides featured, joined by an excellent Forest team!
Brian Clough a man of LEGEND!
That White Kit was a lucky omen in Ipswich’s winning cup run of 1978 - they wore it 4 times - although they were in blue for the final
Different world then. Incredible how the game has changed in 40 odd years
That Shilton save at 3.50 is immense.
Gets cut off at the end
never see football like this again with the rich clubs dominating
Yet somehow Leicester managed to win the league in recent times ... I guess some rich cunt must have invested in them.
love these clips...
The state of john Wylde after the talbot goal, different era xD
