In my opinion, the best art comes from creators who please their own sensibilities first. Great interview of an outstanding talent! Keep ‘em coming, Bruce!

That is *such* a great point to highlight here, DCToon Time - so much to unpack inside of it. In the end, most artists creating lasting, relevant work are grounded with what inspires and piques the curiosities of their music souls first.

Spectacular interview Bruce!! Sir Roger is one of my favorite musical genius artists and I've been wanting to know more about his process, his influences and HOW in the world he got so good at what he does. This is the most recent interview that I've heard, so thank you to you and Roger for a great conversation!! Well done!!

Thanks for your comment, Bob - much appreciated especially as you 'got' that having Roger talk about his process and having that be better understood by his fans was a priority for me(as well, all the other stuff).

Awesome! Thanks for the interview. Roger is awesome! I've followed him from Jellyfish to Imperial Drag, to Moog Cookbook, to Malibu, to his solo stuff and more. I have to get the new stuff!

The Lickerish Quartet is a dead-center target hit for Jellyfish fans, which of course makes sense, as you have 3 of 6 members of the band in this new project. Btw, one thing we did not get to in the interview was me asking about the Imperial Drag demos project finally coming out - it is in the works, hopefully in 2021.

So glad I picked up the Umajets album when it came out.
    Still have it.
Couldn’t find a second copy even if I tried.
It’s a really good album that sticks with you.
The whole vibe of that album and the timing of it being released was incredible.
Tim’s contributions as a vocalist made me realize that he has a voice that belongs upfront.
We now can see this in the Licorice Quartet recordings.

What I'd like to hear more of is Rogers's wealth of experience in working with some of the biggest names in the music industry , namely Bee Gees producer Albhy Galuten, Doug Sax( who Engineered or Mastered Poco's Crazy Eyes album! ), and Lenny Castro who worked with Toto for many years starting way back in the late 70's. Also having a sound and creative style comparable to some of Dan Fogelberg's late 70"s work particularly the time between 77'-79' I would really love this! Thanks!

Really well done buddy!! Thanks for the effort!! Would love to know if RJMJr. was a Klaatu fan??

I'll be doing a follow up on the near-ish horizon, I will ask but I think it's a safe bet he's a fan of the first few albums and they've been on his radar since they were for geeks like us.

My 2008 CD version of Catnip Dynamite has 3 US bonus tracks, including a cover of Elton John's "Love Lies Bleeding". I see those are not included on the 2020 Spotify release. However, Spotify has a track, American Affluenza, that isn't on my CD. It gets more than a little confusing with all the various releases.

Thanks for making this happen Bruce . Only suggestion is to let the artist talk more with less interruptions.

It's one of those 'skills' I'm always trying to get better at but at the same time, to some degree, you have two friends talking with each other so it lands, where it lands...but, yes, I'm aware. ;-P

As much as I love vinyl I don’t want to go back to that. It cost too darn much money. The prices just keep going higher. If I have to spend that much to own music, I’ll just go with download files. It is, after all, about the music.

Totally get that and, generally, I am in agreement. I'm *very* selective with what albums I will part $25-30 for the vinyl. There's got be some unique, special qualitative value-add to take me over the finish line. Part of it, is the quality of the vinyl pressing, the warmth of the performances which will sound better on vinyl(especially if it's properly mastered for vinyl) compared to the digital experience which is different and most of the time, just not better. Otherwise, the CD or stream will due just fine.
