Bought a Jupiter XM. Some menu diving, but it is a great partner for an MPC. Loved it so much that I bought the big brother, Jupiter X, and kept the Xm.
Now nothing against vsts again,they sound great for that in the box sound.But if you cant hear the difference in that full warmth sound hardware brings you need a new set of ears,its just the sound i love and many others as well…Dope video Bolo💪🏾🫡
That is so true. But going analog to digital and record to in the box like protools, the synth vs vst in a mix is pretty damn close. Where a synth like that shines is recording into tape. When we did my first demo it was on to 2 inch tape in the late 90s. Or going from a synth to direct to amp to speakers is amazing
it's about time SOMEONE does a video like this...for the longest time I thought most tones I could get out of this unit were weird video game tones! geez. Tremendous demonstration of this super board. I have a System 8, which I maintain, sound for sound, is unbeatable with its ACB technology. But, it cannot compete with the complexity and versatility of the Jupiter. I enjoyed the show.
I've owned all the originals and I sold them all because they sounded the exact same as my JPX... for those who say analog this analog that. It's by far my favourite synth to sit behind and play. If you ever have the luxury to play this thing you'll see why. Also the sexiest synth out next to the gold version(not for sale) or the baby blue Super 6 IMO.. so for those who play LIVE...love to see it.

@@triplebeam23 we have the x and a fantom, the same patches sound wayyyy better on the jupiter "virtual analog" than the fantom pcm for whatever reason. the "modeling" or whatever is def. closer to analog.
Yes I have definitely thought of the Juno X. It looks and sounds really great. It is a great option. The cool thing is you can also hook it up to an MPC and play the new instruments in the MPC. I have my MPCX SE hooked up to my Waldorf Iridium Keyboard version and it is so fun to work with. Thank you for the content, great as always and your video style is really enjoyable.

Hate to get all technical, but this keyboard is NOT analog... it's a digital synthesizer. Roland terms it an analog-modeling synthesizer... the individual parts are models of the Jupiter 8, Juno-106, SH-101, XV-5080 patches, RD piano patches, TR-808/909 drum sounds, and more packed inside this keyboard. I think it is a fantastic board, but I noticed that many don't agree with my assessment. I own the more compact version, Jupiter Xm, due to limited workspace.
A huge percentage if not all of those sounds are in the the Integra-7. I have the Integra-7 in my rack as it's like an XV-5080 on steroids. Most digital synths are Rompler PCM based while some physical modeling with DSP.
I'm a huge fan of Roland. When you buy anything Roland, you know it's going to last. Their quality control is steller unlike Akai. In fact all my midi controllers are all Roland such as my A-88 Mk1 88 key controller and my Tier 2 controller Roland/Edirol PCR-800 that's actually 16 years old that still in mint condition. I have the Fantom-XR and the Integra-7 which is the modern XV-5080 slash Jupiter 80.
@@goldenlion8123 Thanks. I own about 5 Sound Modules and my MOTIF ES6 keyboard as well but I don't use the MOTIF keyboard anymore that's in the closet since I replaced it with the MOTIF Rack-ES. I have the E-MU MO Phatt, E-MU Proteus 2000 as well along with the Korg Triton and Triton Extreme software. That's virtually every sound of the 90s and early 2000s era of Hip Hop and R&B since my Integra-7 also has all the JV series sounds from thr legendary JV-1080 and JV-2080.
I purchased Jupiter X when they first came out. I was Hesitant to be quite honest. I'm old school analog guy in the schools of Moog Oberhiems Prophets and Mellotron. But I've learned having a open mind . Jupiter X is not Jupiter 8 but for the price its so close and in some ways superior. I think Roland did a great job. The only other Roland I have is Roland juno 6 which is vintage and I absolutely love it still. Thanks for input. I agree it takes time to dail it in but its worth time and investment.

In my opinion, Vst's can become a replacement for any real pianos as the people simulating them are very good programmers, and so they know what it will sound like and you can just buy a midi keyboard that will synthesize anything. Along with fx features to make it sound out of the box.
💪🏾💪🏾 I feel ya! Only problem I see would be VSTs have CPU and RAM issues. If your computer can’t handle it, that’s where the problem start. Plus, I hate Latency.

I have a Juno X and with that you can access all the Roland vintage boards sound librarys. Same for the Jupiter X? That MPC keyboard is crazy. Def have to walk past it, too dope.
Not going to lie, zzounds is the shit for the whole payment plan thing. That's how I was able to get my MPC One, then I got a Semi Modular Moog. Thinking of getting an elektron product next!! Grabbing one of your kits because I haven't loaded any other samples in on my MPC One other than whats built in, got to learn some way some how. Went with the 2020 kit, ill be searching how to load this up after the video.

Were you tracking with any plugins in the Unison pre amps with the X4? I run my external synths through the V76 and I find it adds a lot of warmth to my ASM Hydrasynth.

Been having my 👁 on that Jupiter X for some time now. Already have the Fantom 6 and Prophet and thought the Fantom already could create the sounds that the X could make. I think I'm wrong, this board sounds rich. Did you add any post processing to the sound after the video was done? Will definitely have to add this to my next list of gear to purchase. Also does the Fantom have the Rx channel feature you mentioned in the video this is a issue I've been looking for a answer for since I bought this board.
I added some stereo widening and sound toys micro shift on half timed synth but on original synth I keep everything the same. And yea the Rx channel feature is in Fantom
The Jupiter x and Mpc key are the best keyboards you have in terms of sound, the other stuff is stuff everybody has(modx is dope, but everyone has it)... from someone who knows 👈🏾

Trash? I mean Roland stuff last almost for ever. Plus software becomes obsolete each time you upgrade your OS and Computer hardware. hardware you own it for life. I'm not a fan of software subscriptions. The oldest peice of hardware in my hardware collection os the Proteus 2000 that's 24 years old. It's Neary maxed out with ROM cards as they are becoming more rare.
