  • www.wgu.edu - So by now, you've heard of Western Governors University. You know it's an online university where you learn independently on your schedule, guided by the support of your mentor. But what does being a WGU student look like? Where do you "go" for your courses? How will you take tests and pass courses and make your way toward graduation? This tour of the MyWGU student portal will introduce you to what it "looks like" to be a WGU student.

    This seems like the first college that cares more about the students than their own presence or reputation.

      @@delirous8I totally understand. I wish I had known about WGU sooner as well, I would be a lot better off and owe much less in student loan debt.
      I wish you all the best in your future degree program at Western Governors University!! I hope you love it as much as I do. (I'm sure you will!)

    Couple of questions if someone can help I'd really appreciate it!
    1. Are there any other assignments for the classes or just the course evaluation?
    2. Are you able to contact a professor or other professional about the class or only your mentor?
    3. Is there a limit to how many classes you can take at one time?
    4. Is there a limit to how many classes you can take in a semester?
    5. What happens if you fail a course assement? How soon are you aloud to redo it and is there a limited number of times?

      did you get the answers already?

    • @JOHNEELUND
      @JOHNEELUND Год назад +2

      Im in the application process and here are some answers:
      1. There are assignments and projects throughout the course, and pass/did not pass exams for each course. You can take these early if you are already confident in the course material.
      2. You are able to contact professors and they encourage you to reach out if you have questions. You also contact your program mentor for help when needed.
      3. They start you out with a certain number of classes based on a 2-year timeline, and you are able to speed through this. If you finish courses early, you are able to start other ones.
      4. No limit. Some people graduate in 6 months. It depends on how much time you spend on the program and if you are able to pass classes fast, you can take new ones.
      5. You can retake the course assessments as many times as you like. My admissions officer said only about 10% of students dont pass an exam, and when this happens your mentor will ask you to review the course material to retake.

      The video states it provides the live video proctoring. Universities will not provide a webcam, but most will provide a proctoring service either free with tuition or it’s in your tuition.
