    I always wanted to get my degree so my mom could watch me "walk" and get my diploma. I was not able to graduate with my high school class because I took it too easy my senior year. I am 64 years old and my mom is 91. Your video has given me hope that I can still get my degree and make my mom proud! Thank you.

    I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for this video you made a year ago. I watched it while I was pondering whether to get a Medical Coding degree, the school I was planning to go to didn't require a High School diploma (I graduated High School in Latin America and my HS diploma is not valid in USA). But, after watching your video I decided to research WGU and found out they had an Academy! And if you pass their 3 month course (a lot of people finish within a month tbh), you have guaranteed admission to WGU. So that's what I did! I'm on my way to getting my Business Administration Degree! And although I won't finish in 6 months, it'll definitely take less than a regular college, and that way I won't accumulate student debt. I only have to thank YOU for it. May God bless you in everything you do. 🤗 THANK YOU!!
    Btw, after my husband saw me going fast in WGU, he decided to enroll too! Previously he only had an Associate's Degree in Computer Science, now he's enrolled in WGU to be a programmer! 😃

    ⭐ Quick announcement

    Lots of people are asking me about how many credits I transferred into my bachelors. I transferred in 56 out of 121: i.imgur.com/k6smjPI.jpg
    I ended up finishing in about 5.5 months, but I didn't realize how to "accelerate" until after about 3 months. I originally thought I brought in like 30 credits, but I realized it was more after digging up my transcript (see above). For the MS, unfortunately I couldn't transfer in any credits even though I had CISSP.
    Also, If you're waiting to start your program, but you want to make your spreadsheet on which classes have objective assessments and which ones have performance assessments, you just have to use your ninja Googling skills to figure it out. For example, if you want to figure out the course code and exam type (OA vs PA) for the course "Secure Software Design", I'd do the following Google search:
    "Secure Software Design" site:wgu.edu filetype:pdf
    This will usually yield some kind of internal WGU documents describing the course, that usually disclose the course code as well as what is required to pass the course (OA vs PA, or both). I hope this helps!!

      In the same boat with you!! But I wasted so much money and time in schools near me...and considering majors that I was not into.
      Then gave up...and comparison continued with neighbors kids, relatives, cousins...name it people I never met lol
      But finally in wgu and bec of this guy and couple other youtubers inspired me to give it a try...and after transferring all those classes...now I only need 18 credits to graduate.

    I transferred 39 Credit Unities. I finished 81 Credit unities. I average 1.6 classes per week!
    After watching your video I decided to pursue BSBA-Information Technology Management. I started it in March and I passed the final capstone today.
    The course is 100% completed, while I was working two jobs, and having to help my wife with our two kids (1 and 3 years old).

Finishing that quickly shocked my employer and immediately began discussions about moving into management way earlier than I would have otherwise.

      Thomas Edison State University might be worth looking into. It looks like they take all those credits from Study(.)com, sophia(.)org, straighterline, etc. so the program can be greatly accelerated. Also, they seem to accept international students as well.
      International Students: www.tesu.edu/admissions/apply-international-student
      BS IT: www.tesu.edu/ast/programs/bs/it
      MS IT: www.tesu.edu/ast/programs/msit
      One of my viewers also said this about it:
      "I'm actually leaning towards the Thomas Edison State University B.A. in Computer Science now instead of WGU. Reason being is you can transfer up to 114 credits. They allow up to 90 ACE credits (Study, StraighterLine, Sophia, etc). The other 24 credits need to be from Universities or Community Colleges which isn't a problem for me as I already have that. Then you must complete 6 credits with them. I would do their Software Engineering class and Capstone and get a Bachelors. It's a public non-profit regionally accredited university in New Jersey. Those two classes and "Residency Waiver" will be about 6 grand out of pocket, but not a big deal. As for Bachelor of "Arts" or "Science", no employer cares. I researched on LinkedIn and people with this TESU C.S. degree are mostly all Software Engineers currently. Thank god for LinkedIn, such a useful research tool. I can send you that spreadsheet too whenever I am done with it. "

    1. Are there any other assignments for the classes or just the course evaluation?

    • @JoshMadakor
      @JoshMadakor  3 года назад +3

      You've asked some great questions! I'll answer in-line below:
      1. Are there any other assignments for the classes or just the course evaluation?
      > Only the Final Exam / Final Essay(s), or a combination of both. No homework
      2. Are you able to contact a professor or other professional about the class or only your mentor?
      > Each class has an instructor assigned to it, and you can hit them up as much as you want. Typically if you fail an essay, you'll be required to meet with the professor to go over your work before submitting it again. I failed most of my essays in my MS because I was rushing hardcore, and I had to meet with the professor every time lol
      3. Is there a limit to how many classes you can take at one time?
      > When you start, you'll be enrolled in 3 classes initially. After you pass those, you can add more classes of your choosing (or let the mentor pick).
      4. Is there a limit to how many classes you can take in a semester?
      > Nope! Which is why WGU is really good. You should watch my video "Is WGU Legit?", it dives into this quite a bit.
      5. What happens if you fail a course assement? How soon are you aloud to redo it and is there a limited number of times?
      > IF you fail once, I believe you can take it again relatively soon. I believe the time period between attempts goes up, the more you fail the same class. I know for the exams, you have to start paying (~$60 maybe?) per attempt because you are being proctored and WGU has to pay for the proctor. If you get time, check out their retake policies:

    Bro awesome stuff I'm even more excited to get my bachelor's and that Masters degree if you could get it in 12 days. I'm finally bored after 2 years of IT support and don't feel sys admin is for me I've learned so much and I'm grateful for that but I can't see myself like others I've seen just stuck in Tier 2 support stuff for years and years. I'm hungry to move into some tough stuff. Finally going back to school since WGUs prices are a god send and their learning format is perfect as I got a full time job can't afford to be having to sit through classes. Give me some study material and feedback and I'll go get whatever I need.

    Careful when applying to WGU, they are only accredited in 7 states. Meaning, your degree is probably going to be worthless if you live outside of the 7 states. The cost of attendance is extremely cheap, even cheaper than some Jr. Colleges, most likely because they know your degree will be worthless. Please do your homework before you enroll and see if your state, or professional licensing boards will acknowledge a degree from WGU. This is the problem with most private universities.

    • @JoshMadakor
      @JoshMadakor  2 года назад

      I would strongly recommend you, or anyone else who happens to read your comment to watch this video: Do you really need a degree or a degree with ABET accreditation? ruclips.net/video/qYoqn6owDeI/видео.html

    • @kellyac6410
      @kellyac6410 2 года назад +1

      @@JoshMadakor Everything I said is 100% correct. I was looking through the teaching education section, and noticed that this "university" offers a lot of programs. A student who doesn't know any better would enroll in these programs, only to learn that they will NOT get a degree in education, rather a certificate to add to their pre-existing Bachelors degree. I live in California, which only recognizes accreditation from Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) for a degree in educational studies. Any degree from WGU would be worthless in my state. I understand you are receiving a commission to advertise for WGU, but it's not right that you are misleading people.

    Don't try to rush in one term. Even if you take 3 terms that is still considerably faster than most universities and roughly only 12,900$ You don't want to stress about school. Make it fun and enjoyable. One term is nice and only having to pay about 4300$ is great but still, relax.
