      At least some of them, yes. Some schools are better than others for accepting past earned credits. I am interested in pursuing an Accountiing BA and am considering UMPI and WGU. My biggest concern with WGU was the lack of awarding a GPA which I thought was a big problem if you intend on getting into a good Masters program. Thank you for this review you have done. It is helping me immensely.

    This is a great video!! I essentially did the same thing but for my high school and associate's degree, completing both in 3 years. Now I'm 17, underemployed, and wanting to make more money. I'd ideally like to get a bachelor's in environmental management, or a related business/science degree. I've thought about simply getting a business degree (which I could easily do in 3-6 months) and then spending my time at an in-person school for an environmental master's, but I'm not sure. Any tips for finding a school or program like that?

    I am very happy that I found your RUclips channel. Your advice is veryyyy helpful. I took the California Hugh school Exit Exam and passed it and want to pursue bachelors in Criminal justice. So you are saying, I should do 3 party exams and then enroll in a college, right? Can you also suggest me some college accepting these credits in Southern California? The thing about competency based education is that they often require you have 60 transferable credits first, specifically that they will accept. You could have an AA or AS and end up not accepted because some of those courses don't transfer. They also have typically higher tuition such as $500/credit cost ie $1500 per class. The classes are often accelerated from 10 or 12 week courses to 5 weeks and they may require you to take 2 at a time doing double the normal class load of work for each because of the fast pace.

      That's my favorite program that UW Flex offers. That's a great idea. As far as time goes, completely depends on how much time you put in and how fast of a learner you are. Plus how many credits they'll accept for transfer.
      There are some schools where you can churn through a class a week (or faster). With UW Flex, I'd expect it to be more like a class every couple of weeks.
      Which is still a lot faster than most programs out there.

    My son has completed his A levels but needs a bachelor's degree to go to SGU. We thought about supplementing as you're suggesting but when I called SGU today they told me they won't accept transcripts with pass/fail on them. He does have his A level grades but even still they won't accept that bachelor's degree. Any advice about a particular school that might fit our needs?

    • @9monthcollegegrad-ryansway671
      @9monthcollegegrad-ryansway671  7 месяцев назад +2

      They're Regionally Accredited, which is a must. But I'm a big advocate for doing your research before you start school. Answer the question... will a Degree from this school get me the job I'm shooting for? There are other schools I like more, but if they offer an accelerated path for your major... and other schools don't, then I'd look at Walden's Tempo Learning programs for sure.

    I have reviewed this Video and find it to be entirely credible. You can test out on many courses to gain valid and accredited college credits. I went on a different path where I was limited to "in class" education. There did not exist these loopholes that I was aware of in 1971 (start of college for me). Why? because there was no INTERNET available. I took the long road and "shortened it." My cost of education was based on 18 credits per quarter. At that time it was $15 per credit hour at the Community College. But I found that if you took more than 18 Credits, the rest was FREE during that term. So, I started taking more than 18 credits per term. In fact, I took as much as 40 credit hours and passed all classes. That is about 1 year of credit in one college term. for a cost of $5 per credit hour. and that was in 1973. Therefore, I know that it is true that you can save a lot of money via the presented program in this video. The other benefit is that all the credit earned was transferable to my Bachelor degree program to the maximum of 120 Credits (credits are 2/3rds that of a Semester Credit). In 2012, I had my Military Transcript evaluated at an Accredited University and was awarded 100 Semester hours towards a Bachelor Degree, leaving only 30 Semester hours (average time to establish a major) of credits to earn a degree BA Health Sciences Management. All those Credits transferred were Army Training and Military Occupation Specializations (MOS) that complied with the American Council on Education (ACE), and its determination of credits equivalency to the College titled courses. The transferred credits approved contained 11 of18 semester units of Upper Level courses. So if you have a Military JST Transcript, Submit it to the receiving institution and that can save a lot of money on your education because many Colleges and Universities transfer JST Credits without charge! Oh! the University I transferred the Credits to is a STATE University #41 in Top Public Schools.

    People that advocate these for profit college don't realize that by trying to "Help" people who couldn't actually finish college they're just helping big business make more money while undervaluing the actual degree. Think of it this way by running through college and getting it done graduating with 100k people a year do you really think you're going to get paid more for being a graduate when everyone else also is?

    • @9monthcollegegrad-ryansway671
      @9monthcollegegrad-ryansway671  2 месяца назад +1

      I totally get it. These schools are ripping people off big time. Unfortunately, all the data shows that people with degrees make more money. Obviously there are countless exceptions but if we're talking the average person... degrees lead to better jobs.
      That's why I advocate hacking these degrees, and funding them through scholarships and grants. I got mine in 9 months for $200 out of pocket. And I went from $12/hour to making great money almost overnight.
      Sadly, there are Millions of people with degrees that are underemployed. But I think the reason for that is that people don't know how to get good jobs. Getting good jobs is a skill that needs to be learned, and most people don't get that.
      So, I'm not advocating to get ripped off by the "system"... But for people willing to get creative, let's take the back door.
