Moral of the story: they don’t differ from short haired GSDs.

GSD lovers HELP! My long haired 5 year old male, Dutch, is suspected to have perianal fistulas. Vets in our area have really no info on it and he is miserable. Current vet has him on Marboquin and Clindamycin and has me starting him on Prednisolone today for three weeks. She said after three weeks of that we would do a surgical biopsy if it wasn't under control, but I'm apprehensive because she has never treated this. I just ordered him food made from rabbits, i guess thats supposed to help. we are desperate to help dutch. If anyone has tips or has personally dealt with this please reach out.

These dogs are about to have a heat stroke, especially the one laying down and panting @1:45. Please don't play them hard in the summer heat. I had a GDS and I know they do pant like that when it gets too hot for them, it can be dangerous.

You mean lying down, not 'laying down'. You can lie on your front, lie on your back, lie down. You can lay a table, lay an egg. If you're laying on the floor, you're a chicken. You have to be laying down something, an object; for example, laying down a new wooden floor.

Lie is a verb which means ‘to be in or put yourself into a flat position’. It is an irregular verb and it doesn’t take an object. The -ing form (present participle) is lying and the past simple is lay. The present perfect form, lain, is very formal and is rarely used.

I love to lie on a beach and read. The dog was lying by the gate waiting for me to come home.

The past form of lie is lay: I lay on the grass and watched a plane fly overhead. She lay on the bed and gazed at the ceiling, daydreaming.

The verb lay (not lie) means ‘to put something down carefully in a flat position’. It must have an object. It is a regular verb, but note the spelling of the past simple and past participle form: laid not layed.
Shall I lay the tray on the bed? A wonderful wooden floor has been laid in the dining room.

We don’t use lay to talk about 'being in a flat position'. Lay must have an object:
My chicken is going to lay an egg. My chicken laid an egg this morning.
      Not:
My mother hates when the cat lays on our beds. Missing object: what does the cat lay? Is it eggs, or what?
My mother hates when the cat lies on our beds. Correct.
      xx ❤
