Thanks for the 2 part series so far. Just switching from the RPR to the Bergara BMR for my NRL22 base class setup (this month was the first for shooting the BMR) and found some of the info in these 2 videos to be quite helpful. Now if you could only include where to source an extra mag or two ( or if anyone is making a 12rd version/extension) in future parts, we will be set!
That's great to hear! Extra mags aren't available yet unfortunately. I know of at least one company working on an extension and I will let people know ASAP!!
I was going to purchase a RPR for a little backyard squirrel killer and plinker but felt it was a little overkill with the whole tactical look and a pound heavier. This BMR looks like a perfectly light grab and go gun. Shooting it suppressed will be fun!
Thanks for part 1 and 2. I am looking to getting into nrl and the BMR is one of the options I am considering. Looking forward to the range / accuracy report.
I have recently discovered I could buy the Lydell cheek pieces and have installed a couple of them on my rifles and they make a huge difference!!!! Very nice little rifle build up !!
Great video caught you on Josh’s live stream last night and subscribed to your channel. I picked up the BMR last month seems to to shoot decent. I’m not too excited about it I’ll keep it around for when I take youngsters to shoot.
What size thread is the bolt knob? I've had my BMR for a couple of weeks now and haven't got to shoot it a whole lot yet, it does seem to agree with Lapua Center X, RWS Rifle Match and Eley Match about equal from what I've tried so far. For a more economical ammo it groups very well with Norma Tac-22 and CCI SGB. Mine doesn't seem to care much for bulk and most high velocity ammo. The bolt could've come a little smoother from the factory, but all in all a very good gun for the price.
Do you think this rifle would (If chassis systems come out) be a decent choice for NRL22 open class? I'm going to try out base class once my local ranges start back up, but would like to be able to transition to open class if I do well enough. Thanks for the great content!
@@darrondb thanks, watching your part 3 now and waiting on delivery of my own BMR. I actually use the same riser on another stock and ordered it again for the BMR.
@@darrondb they may have changed that for this year, unless I am reading the rules incorrectly. From the NRL22 rule book, "This combined MSRP price is for the rifle and scope only. It excludes scope rings and bases, bipods, suppressors, data card holders, magazines, spare magazine holders, auto bolt releases, aftermarket triggers and extended magazine releases." I do know that for PRS22, to remain in Production you have to use the factory trigger.
Different price points and different applications. I prefer the b14r for competition and general plinking. The BMR is easier to carry around the woods for hunting.
@@darrondb i want to use it for prs and nrl. Is the steel barrel better than the carbon fiber barrel? I've read that the CF barrel sometimes is not as good as it's expected to be. Other point to consider is that being a heavier barrel gives more balance.
You really need to get yourself a strap wrench. Pliers, rag or not, don't apply the same force as a strap, and the rubber strap won't mar metal in use.
The first generation Argos junk. My first FFP scope bought just to see what is a FFP scope? $370 the cost, and no, I would not buy another Argos scope buy a better scope, save for it.
Welcome to the NRL/ PRS game! You need the high end magnification to confirm zero at 100 and then run it in the 10-12x for the most of the match. Thanks for watching!
A year has passed and I finally got mine! Black on Grey with steel barrel. I am setting my system for a light small game rifle. Thanks for the videos

Really enjoy your blog and x-Ring and especially Pursuit Of Accuracy

Thanks for the 2 part review, i'm heading out to my gun shop tomorrow and picking up the BMR Carbon in 17HMR, can't wait! 💥💥
Enjoy!! They're fun for sure! I need to get one in 17

Killer video, going to basically Ctrl C ctrl V this 👍🏻
Thanks for watching!
I am seriously considering this rifle. Thanks for the videos. Now please go shoot some groups and bring us along
Thanks for watching!!! I'll have part 3 up soon!!!

Thanks!!
Did pretty much this exact same build on my BMR after watching your video. Only difference is that I went with a Harris bipod.
Harris is the better choice!!!
That was a better voiceover than a Beyoncé concert! 6:12

I agree, I wish it was a bit smoother, but the bolt release mechanism makes it a bit clunky. Bolt thread is 6mm
@@darrondb Thank you. I've enjoyed the two parts so far and waiting on #3, #4, #5............
Thanks for the video, I just bought one and am curios if the bolt handle threads are standard 5/16x24 or are they M6x1 thanks
M6. Thanks for watching!!!

In my opinion, the b14r would be a much better choice if you were wanting to go to open class.
Awesome video! I was curious what the thread size was on that bolt knob? I just got the BMR and I'm working on the upgrades. TIA
The BMR is a 6mm thread
On the scope that you are using for NRL22 is it MOA, or MIL? Is one better than the other for this type of competition?
I use mil. One isn't necessarily better than the other. Mill is simpler for me, and they're tend to be more folks using mil than moa
Your videos are great 👍
Thanks for watching and the encouragement!
Standard or M6 thread for the Anarchy knob?
M6

I am unfamiliar with Base Class specifications is this something you can change the trigger in or does factory trigger have to remain?
For NRL22, you have to keep the factory trigger. But it can be tuned

Are those medium height rings?
Low. Medium probably would have been a better choice 🙂

If you're competing, the steel barrel is the way to go

The first gen was a bit rough. The second gen are much better.
I'm sorry but as soon as you said 6-24 scope for a 22, that's ridiculous.
