      I looked at RPRR for $519.00 local gunshop, it looks too much like an AR-15. After many months of back-and-forth but really years, I came home with Ruger's RAR. This rifle is not figured in Ruger's rifle lineup and came with a raised comb 18" barrel medium weight. And, it does shot extracts ejects runs perfectly group size five rounds .55" (CCI-SV), I put through it, 130+ rounds.

    I filled the first few chambers, 6 inches, in the forearm of the stock with 8 shot and covered with siliconed. Trying to get to 8.5 pounds with scope for SB sihouette. I do like the weight and balance a bit better. Have more to go if needed.

    When you say it took about 500 rounds to get those great hole on hole groups, did you ever clean the barrel or just shoot it? Seems like everytime I clean mine, it opens up the groups till I put another 100-150 through it. Thinking about never cleaning it again, or wait till the groups open back up then clean.

    Darron, I was wondering if you could help out an old beginner on MOA and scope settings. I really enjoyed watching you build and shoot this rifle, I hope the accuracy continues to improve for you. I noticed that you zeroed at 50 yards and then when you dialed your scope for 100 yards you moved it from 0 to 2. Wouldn't that just be 2 MOA and your bullet is going to drop 6+ inches at 100 yards? Thought I was getting a handle on this but was thrown off track but what it appeared you were doing. Thanks for all the good videos.

    • @darrondb
      @darrondb  2 года назад +2

      First, thanks for watching!! The scope that I have on that rifle is in mil, not moa. 2mil at 100 yards is just slightly less than 7 inches (1 mil is approx 3.5 moa). You're on the right track, I just confused you with the units!!

    • @darrondb

      Well ... I have about 600 rounds though mine and haven't done anything other than wipe the bolt off a few times 😁. In general, I don't clean my rimfires until accuracy drops off or it gets wet
