I can't believe this golf course was only $30 | Sapona Golf Club

- $30 for a round at Sapona Golf Club feels like an absolute steal. Not too far from either charlotte or Greensboro, this course has a fun layout in a peaceful location and definitely has the course conditions of a track charging at least double!

Glad to see you back with another video. We should find a way to get up and play. I live 15-20 north of Lexington and we visit Asheville quite often.
Always down, hit me up on IG! (Although I don't live in Asheville anymore and am in Charlotte full time)
Love Sapona!! Fun fact; it used to be private until 6-7 years ago. I hit my best drives on number 8.
It's such a hidden gem, what a beautiful golf course
Love the background tunes and music in your vids! You should play Stoney Creek , Caswell Pines, and Cross Creek if you ever get the chance. Cheers!
Going to add them to the list!!
Sapona is a nice course, they are doing a lot of work out there. I've played most of the public courses between Greensboro and Charlotte and Sapona is a great bargain.
Really does feel like it, although I haven't played a bad course in Greensboro yet so I'm pumped about getting more of those tackled
I play this course a lot and that is a good course. Right now it is getting more play than normal due to the fact Lexington Golf club is closed right now.
Haven't played Lexington, is it getting renovated?
Awesome video! I’m heading here tomorrow to play. Looking forward to it!
Best of luck and enjoy!!
Your alignment spot on brother !
LETS GO
Playing well!
SOME DAYS GOOD
Hey Alan, I've been watching your channel for a while but finally had to comment. I grew up in the Winston-Salem/Triad area but moved to the upstate SC a few years ago when I discovered your channel looking for all of the courses to play there. Sapona is an incredibly fun layout and used to be private and owned by Richard Childress up until a few years ago. I've played virtually all of these Triad/Charlotte/Western NC courses, and your channel really brings me back. Some more great golf on the Greensboro/High Point side (Grandover, Holly Ridge, etc.) and the Clemmons side if you can make it there (Salem Glen, Oak Valley, Tanglewood), and of course Pinehurst (and Tobacco Road, Tot Hill Farm, etc.).
I've since moved again, and if your ever in the Charleston/Kiawah area would love to play.
(PS, I went back to watch some of your very first videos, and what happened to the shot of the day nominees? Those were fun!) Really enjoy watching your channel!
Hey dude! Much love the continued support, love to see ya in the comments. I definitely want to hit more courses up near Greensboro, it's really not a bad drrive for me and the prices are SO MUCH BETTER than Charlotte. Pinehurst area needs to start to get tackled this year. I'd like to play #1 and a few of the Southern/Mid Pines courses as well.
I usually look to take a trip in the fall, may need to add Charleston to the list and join ya!
I agree with the Clemmons area (Salem Glen and Oak Valley for sure). Tanglewood is also good but stick to the Champions course and not the Reynolds. We played Sapona last summer and it was in great shape Hope to get back there again. If you want a fun course, play Pudding Ridge up in Mocksville area. Not a tough course but requires some accurate shots. They have that new weather resistant Bent Grass and the greens are fantastic.
striking the ball well
One of those days where it just clicked! (outside of the 80 yard wedges lol)
Hey man I really like your videos great personality and real perspective of an average golfer. You should go play my home course Winding Creek in Thomasville nc
Cheers man! Glad you're enjoying the content. I'll add it to the list!
$30 on Friday after 2pm, but $64 on Sat, great course, rough can be thick at times, you are striping most of your tee shots, but approach shots are inconsistent
$64 on a weekend is a great deal lets be honest
@@PerfectlyAverageGolf Not when you've been paying $40 for years, courses we used to play on weekends for 35-40 are now 65-90, too high for us hourly blue-collar workers
I mean golf is growing, can't expect rounds to stay in the $30s in this day and age
Stay away with any amount of rain. It stays a swamp after rain.
Good tip!
Have you been to Birkdale yet?
Not yet since they reopened, going to try and get out there soon!
Where’s the rocky river upload of breaking 80 👀
Its being edited AS WE SPEAK
go play red bridge, or river oaks
Played Red Bridge once before, but it had been punched, definitely need to revisit it. River Oaks is a new name I haven't seen suggested before though!
@@PerfectlyAverageGolf 233 Broken Arrow Dr, Statesville, NC 28677 that is river oaks info..
@@PerfectlyAverageGolfRiver Oaks in Statesville is pretty dang nice for $55 weekend round
Honestly may go play it tomorrow if they have any openings
@@PerfectlyAverageGolfThey’ll have openings. That’s why it’s one of my faves. Can call day before or day of and get on pretty easy.
