I live on Carolina National. Love my home course!

I'm keeping this "resort' course on my list but it's moving down. I really like this hotel,, I usually go during Christmas so no golf then but since it's a Donald Ross, it will stay on the list. You hit some great drives, good tempo and rhythm, keep swinging!

I'm not really seeing the 'Resort' aspect of this Donald Ross course through 9 holes. I'll watch the back 9 before I decided if it moves down on my list

Greens are in rough shape most of the t8me and it is almost always crowded.

Though your video doesn't show it, hole #16 aka The Beast is a 223 Yard Par 3 has water on 3 sides and bunkers in front and the rear, one of the more challenging Par 3's in the CLT area, my birdie putt just singed the edge

Great course, basically my home course although I try to go to new ones as much as possible, hole 18 is probably my favorite golf hole I’ve ever played. My buddy has a golf brand he started a few years ago and we’re trying to get into RUclips, if you ever want to play a scramble or any kinda match on or off camera we’re always golfing on Tuesdays sometimes Mondays, would love to meet up for a round !

So expensive for a meh course. Skybrook across the street is much better

when i played here in the early 2000s the greens were bent and slicker than shit

I've watched prob 25 or 30 videos. If you slow down your backswing, it will help. I've watched you swing like that before and everytime you had better control. Just a note. Don't go full speed until halfway back down. You will be amazed

Can’t wait to watch you play Tot Hill. I live near and used to be a member. New owners came in about 18 months ago and spent a lot of money on the course. I haven’t played it since but looking forward to watching you. I really enjoy your content.

There’s nothing more unnerving than trying to chip from the dormant grass around Texas greens in the winter. Double the difficulty if it’s wet. Use the Texas wedge whenever possible, thats what it’s for.

6th hole...Must be right center or its a three shotter. 7th. Green has a rise in the center with a ridge that bisects the green from 1 o'clock to 7 o'clock. You ran it over the ridge. Not good. 9th. This hole will confound even single digit index players. 13, I've done the same thing. Hooked the tee shot and got real lucky. As to the issues with the staff....I've never experienced that type of treatment at Monroe. However, staff changes all the time. Some rangers take their jobs far too seriously. I am usually understanding with employees. I will clap back at workers who are impolite or disrespectful. Oh...Try Eagle Chase in Marshville. From Monroe CC, Its about 20 minutes northeast off NC 205 . Hilly course, Well maintained. Immaculate Diamond Zoysia greens.

Ive worked carts at Carolina springs for over 2 years now, been playing there since I was 8 years old 9 years ago. I’m there almost every day I love it there. Glad you enjoyed the course!

#4 is deceptive, Your comment said 'right is better than left, I guess you found out the opposite is true. I aim down the left edge of the tree line and hit a fade . If you get it past the crest of the hill, the ball will trundle on down . The goal is to leave it on the "shelf" about 50 yards short of the next drop off. Or if you can really bust it, leave the tee shot at the bottom of the hill to the flattest lie on this hole Leaves a mid to long iron to a green that sits on top of a hill.

Greens are tricky, Have slopes that are sometimes difficult to read the line and get the break correct. Anyway, Rule number one ...Never be above the hole. Front pins are an additional 2 to 5 stokes more over the entire round. The only hole that is in my opinion of suspect design is #3. The green is narrow. The back third of the green slopes severely away from the approach . UNless a player can hit a wedge or short iron into the green, any shot landing on the middle to the back will roll off the back of the green. Other than that, its a pretty fun golf course.

The last time I played out there I was paired with a guy I didn't know. After a few holes he asked me if I minded if he smoked Hash, I kid you not. He didn't know what I did for a living or anything about me. Heck I could have been a cop, lucky for him I wasn't lol. So next thing you know I see him whip out a hash pipe. LOL

I played this course 19 times last summer and had a blast. The #7 hole is my favorite and you had the perfect combo with 3 W & wedge. Next time, don't forget to ring the bell on #4!

i played this course last October, after a heavy rain and it was still in great condition. I hit a SW on #2 and left it one dimple roll from an Ace! Interestingly, this course is the Flagship for similar courses to be built in the SE by Justin Timberlake and partners.

Glad to see the course conditions are better, last time we were there the greens were rough and overall not really good. Driver was on, but the approach shots, combined with chip shots was a little rough today, putter wasn't bailing you out either

After watching this vid, this course is moving up on my list. You are hitting your 3 wood so solid! Mountain golf in Western NC, gotta love it!

I've never played in the fog, I can barely play when it's crystal clear! I just knew you nailed that last Par 3, so frustrating when everything feels right and it's no where to be found.

Pronunciation was spot on! Vacationed there one summer with the kids and saw the course but never played it. Looks tough!

I played here a few years ago. We got a deal on Golfnow but the greens were being killed at that time to make way for the new greens to be installed. Looks like the course has come back strong.

Used to play here a lot unfortunately it’s not public anymore on weekend correct?

It could be a good golf course. Unfortunately, just is what it is. At least it isnt surrounded by houses.

Wow! What a great video!! I'm in the CLT area, retired since 2020 and play golf, 4/5 times a month. I've played both the Lake Lure courses and concur with your assessment of each. I've also played Mt Mithchell and was somewhat disappointed as the day I played, the were recovering from rain the previous 2 days. I'll look forward to chalking these other courses off my list! Mooresville is a nice layout and seems to be in great shape most of the time though it gets a lot of play. #7, the Par 3 is my favorite hole.

We play Emerald Lake often. We played the same time you played and the conditions were not good. MUCH better now, especially the greens, which have received a lot of attention from the staff. The conditions this summer are the best we’ve seen at Emerald Lake. Enjoyed watching your round and man, several of the greens have some real slope don’t they?

Great video and I hate to be the one guy that’s gonna give you my own critique being a golfer of 30 years. I honestly have never seen someone who has absolutely no clue on break or speed when it comes to putting you would’ve saved 10 to 13 strokes if you would take a little more time to read the break the speed, and just get an overall concept of what your putting is doing immediately after you’re done putting you drop the putterhead and your whole body slouches

But for the record, and for any non-NY'rs, Van Cortlandt is NOT downtown :) Downtown NYC is generally thought of as the lower part of Manhattan... say below 14th St. Van Cortlandt is not even in Manhattan, its in the Bronx, north of Manhattan. But an easy 35-45min subway ride from downtown, and then a 5min walk from the subway..

Hampstead has a nice back nine that recently redone... I think its called Ironclad. ....one of my favorites to play along with Castle Bay
