13:20 The reason for the text change was the rules clarified the "Pay x life" is a cost and not damage, so all the old cards with the "this damage cannot be prevented" could be cleaned up.
A fun fix for Griselbrand would be "If this card entered and was not cast: Sacrifice it." (maybe even exile it). With this fix you can turn any reanimate into a mass, painful draw spell, but you would have to do it all at once as it would be sacrificed after.
Another fix, or more likely a retrain/spiritual successor, would remove the lifelink and add "when this card enters, if you own it, create an emblem with "you cannot gain life"" and a once per turn on the draw effect.

Maybe a fix could be text like “Activate this ability only any time you could cast a sorcery, and only once each turn.”

0:19 SICK NEW EPISODE IM TARGETING IT WITH MY COMMENT AND PAYING THE 2
    1:40 I understand the assignment
6:23 already there’s a comparison between banned broken card and unbanned broken card. You build your deck well, you get emrakul on turn 4. If Griselbrand is in your deck you can get him out pretty easily by turn 2 or 3 with the right pieces, and then you draw 35 cards and win the game it’s really not that hard to see the problem here. Mono black, land of tutors and rituals, abuses the card advantage so easily
23:38 Gramps, the big reanimator board generally has to make it to untap to win. Griselbrand does not. That is the difference
27:30 It needs to cost something other than life. Mana is good. My favorite fix to this would be the following: “Pay 7 life: Draw 7 cards. End the turn. Activate only as a sorcery.” Even then it’s strong but it’s reasonable.
The interesting thing is that the only real argument for a lot of cards coming off the ban list is because most casual players wouldn’t play them anyway. Because they suck the joy out of the game and aren’t fun. But we all know someone with a Tergrid deck, so we know it won’t be totally absent. Gramps. 😂

WOAH! "End the turn. Activate only as a sorcery." That's a very good fix. Another thing WotC have been doing recently is "you can only do this once per turn" or however they word it. Is a good fix too - Gramps

      @@casualcompliance honestly that’s a better fix I don’t know why I avoided a once per turn clause

    "Thats modern"
3 of the 4 cards in the video have never been legal in modern
And even in legacy where all of these cards are legal, griselbrand is unplayed with the combo because Atraxa and Archon are better lol
