I am in full agreeance, most of the potential combos of the card are ruined by the permanents shuffling back in. I also think the hand of 7 for each player can help counteract the difference of 7 life 1 life for worldfire. Great episode!
It's a tough one to pick. It definitely does make sense. Whenever someone overloads a Rift I want to flip the table, this would give the same vibe but worse. - Gramps
First: I think the wipeout with the bird doesn’t work. Usually triggers all go on the stack as soon as the card resolves, but the card gets shuffled before it sees the thing that would trigger its replacement effect. The thing that makes Sway the Stars different from something like Worldfire and all those other effects is that EVERYTHING (except exiled cards) is reset to the start of the game, and then the life is set to 7. Worldfire says “top deck till you can deal 1 damage” and kind of hilariously ends the game. Other examples leave the graveyard or hand intact, meaning there is some significance to the cards you played or chose to hold back. Sway just says “this is a draw, everyone shuffle up for a new game, I have a pre-game action where everyone loses 33 life.” It’s a one card full reset, like when you’re winning or you deal with someone’s threat and they go “can we restart?” Don’t even get me started on Teferi’s Pro. I do want to stress how significant it is to have one card doing something that normally you use multiple cards to do in a singleton format. Lots of cards are broken if you play other cards that work with them. The problem cards are the ones that either don’t need enablers (Sway), or have too many enablers (Tolarian Academy)
Time first long time, I completely agree that it's a card that isn't fun but in a world where Worldfire isn't banned isn't on the ban list, I don't see why this card should be. Also find yourself someone that's as happy to see you as Gramps is to see his opinion vindicated at the end here
Cyclonic Rift is a method to actually end the game, It's one sided. I think that Sway of the Stars makes it worse because it's extended out the game for no reason. If I were to ever see sway of the stars + teferis I will eat one of the cards
I literally just found this channel from a short for this same episode and I’ve subbed! ❤😂
The best way to abuse these type of effects (including worldfire) is oblivion ring effects, so when everything is removed you get something back.
Such high quality and you've been posting for at least two months as far as I can see how have I not run into your content subscribed
Chilly puts a lot of effort and love into these edits! Thank you so much it’s wonderful to have your viewing - Gramps

Delicious delicious cardboard. Still not the most expensive meal… that’s Tiamat.
