Man.... I have searched EVERYWHERE on the internet for a 2022 F150 review like this. While some of my trucks options are not included, at least I know where to look for it all now!!! Thanks for making this.
Just purchased a 2023 F150 Limited and have watched dozens of videos to learn about the truck. This is by far the best video I have watched and learned several new things about my truck that I didn't hear in other videos and didn't know. Thanks for the informative and entertaining video.
My dad just bought a truck and something I have noticed is that when you put it in sport mode the turbo lag isn't as bad as in normal along with the breaking and turning is a lot better. If you want the worse turbo lag in the world just switch to eco mode. (yes eco mode does work) Another hidden feature that I found was there was another secret compartment next to the cup holders in the front of the truck. This is only for the XL and XLT because it doesn't have the middle shifter. You lift it up and you have a secret compartment to store some stuff.
Really great video. Very detailed with the stuff I wanted to see (interior features and performance) and detailed to the point where it was interesting and not boring. Fine line to hit. Well done, thank you
I recently purchased a 2022 F150 Powerboost and put 4,000 miles on it in the past three weeks. I traded in my 2015 F150 Lariat and I am very pleased with the many improvements Ford has made on this truck. The hybrid vehicle is a definite plus since the infrastructure is not yet available to support an all electric vehicle for long distance travel. Good review.
I am here just pipe dreaming. I sold my truck to pay for my son's eye surgery. I am a Combat Disabled Veteran. It sucks being stuck at home. I would settle for a beat up 1980's F-150 just to have something I could use to take my son fishing.
Great video I bought mine at that same location over a year ago and now I know a few more things about the truck that I didn’t a I went with a 3.5, it gets after it. Like you said it sounds great when you get on it . I previously had the 50 amp was very hesitant on buying the V6 but Hac the salesmen talked me into it and I have no regrets.
Just bought this truck off lease 2022 Lariat Powerboost with $20k in options, sticker on this truck was $86,000 after all the bells and whistles. I haven't had a new vehicle in 10 years and never owned a truck, I'm floored by the options, comfort and safety of this truck. Bluecruise is AMAZING, just like Tesla. I also test drove the Limited and I like everything about my Lariat with all the same options but one from Limited. I'm a kid in a candy store with this truck!
I love mine, just traded my 2016 f150 Lariat and it's just as good, even better with the sync 4. I did have some trouble finding everything i wanted, settled for grey instead of black.
I ordered the F150 Hybrid six weeks ago. Just was notified that it starts building next week! Very excited. I sold my 2019 F250 Diesel at a profit and can't wait to take delivery of the new one. Thanks for all the feature descriptions and demos.
Nice review. Note that I dont think Ford deleted auto start/stop due to customer demand but more because of chip shortages. Also note that a lot of 2022's have a credit for connected navigation/sirusXM removal for the same reason. And if you listen to XM, it is not easy to re-install this after the fact.
Yes, there are two injectors per cylinder, however, one is direct injection, and one is port injection. Direct injection alone doesn’t let the detergent in fuel to “clean” properly, so adding one to the manifold solves that.
@Eric Bekkers I’ve heard of people waiting a long time depending on specs ordered. I was lucky and my brother in law had the one I bought on his lot. Not the exact color option I would have ordered (Space White w/ chrome package), but it turned out looking nice with a 2in level and 35x11.5 Nitto Ridge Grapplers. Love driving it, it will be worth the wait.
I traded my 2016 F-350 Super Duty Diesel for a F-150 because I sold my RV and diesel fuel pricing. I bought the Platinum and I love it! I haven’t found anything I don’t like about it. It has all the features my 350 Lariat had, and many more-including even more comfort.
If this truck is half the truck my 2013 Larait was….but I’m sure it’s twice as good. Can’t wait for my new Larait Powerboost comes in I just ordered. This is one of the few trucks that is worth the high price and has the most and best hi-tech. Very good review!
Getting unbelievable gas mileage out of my 2.7. On back roads at 65 mph getting close to 30 mpg. I think your best choice is the 2.7, it's just a better built engine than the 3.5.
I have the 5.0 2019 and if you draft a big rig on flat land it will do 30 MPG too. 65 on flat land no wind maybe 27, with wind then 24. its a flex fuel too so that's 2.00 a gallon less in my area and the mileage drops to about 18 or 19 so you still come out ahead.. That 10 speed transmission is amazing. Its turning about 1200 RPM at 65. I am coming from a 2001 F150 with the 4.2l V6 and this has double the power and gets better mileage even with E85. Amazing piece of engineering.
Just ordered a 2022 Platinum. Probably won't get it till August, but we will see. Thanks for the preview. Learned a few things and yes, the price tag is hard to wrap your head around. Still psyched to get my retirement truck in the awesome Anti-Matter Blue.
That little note you gave about the doors! I’m taking my truck in today (identical model you reviewed!) because the rear DS passenger door needs to be slammed to close.
In my 2023 the storage compartment that the shifter folds into has something under the rubber bottom. I cannot figure out what that is for. Can anyone tell me?
While you are partially correct about the dual injectors helping the engine achieve 400hp, that’s mainly because of the direct injection. The port injectors are there to keep the valves clean and minimize carbon buildup.
Just got a 22 F150 XLT 3.5L with 60K to replace my 14 that had 190k with no major issues. The newer truck has same the same set up except my 14 was a Lariat. The ride and power with the 3.5 is superior and although I owned several different brands of trucks over the years, after having my 14 F150 and now my 2022, I'll never go back to Dodge or Chevy
I believe it will give you the option in the instrument cluster to stay in the same drive mode by pushing a button upon startup. That is how my bronco does it
Towing capacity is even more complicated (and limited) if you crawl under the back of the truck and look at the sticker under the hitch receiver. Then you're down to like 5,000 pounds and only 500 pounds max tongue weight without a weight distributing hitch (WDH).
lol of course it's the same as the tremor because they both have the 3.5EB, although for 2023 you can also get a Tremor with the 5.0 which also has 400hp but 410 tq, whereas the 3.5EB has 500 tq.
Great video. The only thing you are actually off on is the towing numbers. The high towing numbers that Ford claims is actually pretty accurate to the truck you have there. If you go on the configuration with the specifications, the crew cab 6.5 box with 3.5 ecoboost 2x4 is rated at 14,000lbs. With the 4x4 option, the rating is at 13,800lbs. This is one reason I went with Ford over Toyota.
@@SchwayZ 3.55 and 3.73 are both rated at the numbers that I listed above, with the locking diff and the towing options you have on the truck you are reviewing, you have either the 3.55 or 3.73 standard.
@@SchwayZ yes forsure! I just was pointing out that the one you were reviewing, was only 200lbs off that 14,000 pound claim. And that you do not have to go to a reg cab long box like you mentioned to get close to that. To be honest most of the high numbers come with the crew cab these days. Ford really does great when it comes to their towing and payload capability’s. Great review tho!
Funny that you gauged how quick the truck is relative to sluggishness, lol. These trucks(3.5EB, 5.0V8, and Powerboost) are relatively very fast! You barely even touched the throttle!
Just bought a 2023 Ford F150 Sport model, and the power outlets will not function with anything that has a motor. No power tools...I guess it will work with a lamp or to charge a tool battery charger. Found it basically useless
the 3.5 is not the middle engine... it is the top engine they offer.... 5.0 8 cylinder being the base with the highest fuel milage... then the 2.7 then the 3.5 being the best they offer
Thanks for the great thorough review, nicely done but like many other reviews that I’ve seen, although you mentioned a range of one of the most important numbers, you, like many others have a golden opportunity to show us viewers the truck specific payload but don’t. You open the drivers door and the payload sticker is right there, why not show it for this truck with the build as it is? I’m currently ordering one of these beauties and given the options you have on this Lariat, I’m curious as to what the actual payload is on this truck that you reviewed. Sorry to be venting here a bit, it just seems that this is a guarded secret. When I’m in the Ford website building this, they should have the base payload and as you add packages and accessories (factory), it would be so nice if the buyer can see how each of these add ins effects the payload, by giving us a running payload number. Anyway, great review on this especially some of the hidden features. I look forward to seeing mine when it finally arrives, ordered early October…
Hey man I appreciate the constructive criticism. I'll definitely do my best to include those figures on future reviews. I do find it frustrating that ford doesn't really show you the payload figures once you start adding options. I had a hard time finding the information as well. Congrats on the sweet ride!
Ford never sold the 2021s waiting for chips at discount did they? So did they re-branded them as 2022s? This rig is exactly the same as my 2021. I wonder what the year of manufacturing is on the door sticker. I have the 2021 Powerboost and it’s fast as fu….
No matter how desirable manufactures make new cars and trucks, if they are not affordable for the general public, they will fail. That is the position the Ford F-150 is in, in today’s market.
Don't forget to punch in the door code then hit #5 and the tailgate pops open! This is one of my favourite features! Great video!!

You hit the nail right in head: New trucks cost 3 times what they used to cost but like you said, you're getting 3 vehicles in 1
DOPE video brother!!! I LOVE how you break everything down and FULLY educate the consumer. Keep the banging videos coming 🤙🏾👊🏾
Appreciate that my man! Hope all has been well with you and your family 💪🙏

I went from a 2001 Silverado base trim to a 2022 f150 xlt fx4 a few months ago, so you can only imagine how pleased I am with this truck
