Solar: makes incredibly detailed lure with gill detail also with fancy wood. Me: makes bait with very little details and with Home Depot pine 2x4. LOL! Happy late thanksgiving and a happy early Christmas.
A few years ago I followed your carving technique for scale detail. the lures turned out awesome. the fish in my profile was caught on my very first outing with my new lure. And I have had many since. Love your videos. I am surprised you didn't carve the scales in. It is an awesome technique and allows better painting options. thanks...
I was actually wondering if that Ryobi belt sander is worth it, I got their scrollsaw and it does wonders. You're a great inspiration, I share many of the same ideas but you test them before I and It saved me so much time. Thank you
Hi mate what wood you use to make your wobbler. The super bait you do for me you're like an artist and it's great painting. In Poland can not buy them and I would very much like to have some such wonderful lures.
Killer work as always Mikko. I use most of the same techniques to build my blanks so it's always cool watching you and comparing/learning. Next you need to invest in a drill press. LOL!
If you live in Alberta Canada there is a bunch of spots that are open water year around. The fish in my profile picture was caught in January open water
Wow just heard youre from alberta! I chase pike in Northern saskatchewan and just made a shift to big muskie lures and its made a huge difference. I think you've inspired me to give this a shot when ice fishing slows down!
Another AMAZING Bait !!! Why didn't you reverse the "Scale Tool" to get the reverse scale lines ??? Would be a lot easier ...... ??? Really enjoying your content !!!
Dude, i dont usually comment videos, but i was HOOKED with your popper video and proceded to watch every video you have. People like you are the kind on which investors put their money on, keep on with your work. There are some youtubers from australia who would LOVE to use your lures. You should make a collab with them, they are super cool guys. BROOKSY (brooksy fishing), BRIGGSY(briggsy sport fishing), and CAVY(cavy) are their names
There are 30 pound plus pike in the sask river and go the next province over to saskatchewan and you have monster 30 lb plus pike in tobin lake and the sask river. I make the same lures as miko just as big and just as fancy and fish them as often as i can. And catch lots of big fish on them in the saskatchewan river. Remember a fish will take a lure or a prey fish half its body length. I have caught small 8 pound pike on 7 and 8 " cedar lures as well as walleye on those same size 7 to 8" lures.
@@thatsmallrockshop yes there are big fish out there but they are not nearly as common to catch as they were 20 years ago. Northern Saskatchewan diffinately has more big fish, alberta still has some but they are few and far between. I caught my first pike over 20lbs last summer, been fishing alberta waters for 25 years (mostly central, heavily preasured waters) More than likely your going to catch pike the size of the lure featured in this video lol.
Excellent work. You sir are truly an artist. I'm working on a few one piece glide baits and was wondering about lead placement. Would you reccomend placing all of the weight in a central position or spacing it throughout the length of the bait? Keep up the great work.
Another great lure, just hope you're going to find something big enough to take it! I thought you may have problems graduating the colour change by hand so don;t blame you for swapping, excellent final result tho. No need to apologise for your pronunciation it's better than mine and i'm English!!
Absolutely gorgeous lure! I have a question for you, do you ice fish? It's getting to be that time of year and I'm curious. I've been subscribed for a very VERY long time, and I dont recall any ice fishing videos or ice fishing lure making videos.
It realy looks amazing, if you want someone to test some baits for you let me know i am a pike and perch angelar from holland, i realy handmade custom baits. Great job
You should be very proud of you skills. They are second to none and a great inspiration.
You absolute madlad. Painting scales on a 9" bait by hand, several times!
Those lines below the lateral line are very fine rib bones .... great job Sir ..
Lake St, Clair and the Detroit River is musky and Pike Heaven..

You could turn out a lot of lures with that fancy band saw. Well done Mikko. Great stuff
I already have 😁

That's a epic lump of a lure man.
Can't wait to see it in the real world test when your lakes and rivers have thawed.
Keep up the good work buddy.
Your English is better than a lot of native speakers I know.
Daaang lol
Love your videos man you’re the best You and marling Bait are the only thing I watch on RUclips you are such an artist

Wow! I wouldn’t even attempt that but it was great! And I think you’re right the scales on the back looked great! Thanks again for another great video
Phenomenal work once again. Always look forward to new content! Nice wobble in the tub too!
Great job . There’s no mistakes, just happy accidents! Lol Your patience is incredible.
Great work as always, Solarfall!
Hello !!!! How thick is that lure and how long? what wood are you using ???? Greetings
Thanks for the great video and beautiful work! A good distraction from the current state of things.
Sealing your wood lure with 30 min epoxy your favorite method? Love your work. Would like to get into hobby.
The epoxy I use for sealing has a cure time of 24h so I guess that's my favorite method
As always Mikko stunning. You can keep that snow out west lol over here in Ontario it snows than melts and repeat.
What is favorite type of wood to use for lure making
Nice action on the swim test mate and great work on the hand painting 🤙

Doesn't really work on a curved surface, if your working with a completely flat surface... Well thats another story.
Wonderful job keep up You are very good

Man your videos makes me want to sell my rods and buy a belt sander and a band saw! Love how you challenge yourself trying new things.
2:24 To get a proper centerline I use an old set of poker cards. So I don't have to look for a suitable piece of wood every time.
thank you for the video and the knowledge enriches our treasury of knowledge about bait making
Amazing ! Why are you filling lead holes with Bondo and not epoxy for example ? Loving your job man, cheers from France ! ;)
Bondo is much cheaper than epoxy
Fantastic work buddy 🐟🎣
hola !!!! que grosor tiene ese señuelo y que largo ??? que madera estas usando ???? Saludos
Sorry dude i dont speak much spanish, only thing i got from your message is hola lol
Fantastiskt grymt 👌😊 keep up the awesomness ❤️
Why bondo and not baking soda and super glue? Marlin does is. Is bondo more durable?
And of course. Great great vid. I'm a big fan from the beginning
Bondo is more economical and you get more bang for the buck, i use it for other stuff too, not just filling holes so using it makes more sense to me.
very good ... a job done very well ... what kind of wood did you use?
Hint, its mentioned in the tittle of the video
I'm sorry I didn't notice ... thank you very much .. you do a really good job
Could You please add link of Ring Screws of ebay ?
Just beautiful.
Thanks for checking out the video
Great job ! How many hours you spent ?
Week and a half
Didn't you move to alberta? We don't have musky here, lots of pike though but most lakes the pike you catch are the size of that lure lol.
well there is nothing stopping me from making muskie lures even if i lived in the jungles of Bolivia. :)
@@SolarfallBaits true enough, you get to do any fishing before lockdown 2.0 hit? You should make an ice fishing/jigging lure.

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Great work👍
I think your going to need a bigger tub 🛁 🙌🏽 great job with the bait as usual nice paint job on both baits I don’t know witch one I like more 👍🏽
Haha yes. I think i will make something little smaller next time
SolarBaits 8 inches would be great I think but what you have right there is a pike and musky bait maybe even bluefin at P.E.I 🤷🏻♂️
Really huge bait congratulation man, and now you got the band saw, really efficient tool nice!
Amazing. Everytime again im stunned 🙌

Sir you videos are awesome.
Easily understood.
Why don't you publish fishing videos 😃
I dont like filming while i'm fishing it Takes away from the experience
Tq for teaching us sir,how to make it ,it very aswome
Thanks for checking the video
You should try baking soda and thin super glue brother to put on your lead holes . Ones you do you will never use bondo
Bondo is way more economical in the long run than super glue
amazink mr creativ lure making the gian smelt crankbait.
Have you tried baking soda and superglue as a no mess alternative to Bondo - perhaps you just like the smell of Bondo?
bondo is way cheaper and more plentiful in the long run than baking soda and super glue
@@SolarfallBaits agreed and the contact high makes winter bearable
I love this one the most. Can you make a deep diver with curved lip, something like a rapala scatter rap deep diver, maybe make it dwo pice?
Hey, buddy ! I really like your work ! Tell me, is bait modeling your hobby, or do you do it professionally ?
You could say i make lures semi professinally
