In the early 1980s all were access deeds, the 5500 acre camp was very few camps, you just roped off an 1.25 acre camp that had nothing on it, and marked on on a platt map in old office at 60 and 630 , they were self assigned, sometime between 1995 and 2005 the board voted to change, probably because camps were becoming more big pole barns and nicer cabins etc, so they changed to you can only leave stuff on your own camp property, prices skyrocketed, currently if you only have access deed in 55000 recreation area, there's two temporary camp areas just down from playpen opposite playpen, I bought in 1982 but stop going about 1986 , paid taxes but not poa dues since 1986, the camp area 5500 acres was so few camps back in early 1980s you was allowed to hunt small game with shotgun birdshot only, no rifles of course, wow what a change in camp structures, back in 1980s mostly old gutted travel trailers and old school buses, with bunks like old school hunting camps, I ask office what year it changed I been told 1995 to 2005 , who ever had access lots in camp section came out smelling like a rose, many if the the 1.25 lots have been split to .31 but camp lots are very expensive, in 1980s all lots were sold as access lots, 650.00 + courthouse fees around 800. Total 1.25
My 1.25 is just inside recreation gate, so I just camp in temporary area once in awhile, I can just leave if Hurricane or Forest fire coming, I would like a camp lot, but just too expensive nowadays, Im 66 , planning on selling primary home in Hillsborough county, one day, and travel in rv and use temp camp when not traveling, I like the new way, some don't , it's atv paradise, but prefer wildlife management areas for what little hunting I do nowadays, rrpoa is awesome for off grid camping, camping, camping, LOL

So it was never your lot, and the rightful owner who purchased the lot you were squatting on told you to leave his property.... sounds logical to me.

It's not an uncommon situation. Lots of folks have a deed, but little or no idea where the actual patch of dirt is, so just camp somewhere that looks good. If a deed owner wants to establish camp on the actual plan and you're already camped on it, you gotta move. Simple as...

Back in the day they would just assign you a spot to camp before everyone knew where your lot actually was. So if your camp was 10-15 years old you just put your camp where they tell you and that's that

A long time ago you bought an acre or so in the hunt area (that’s all they allowed for a long time). You could have it surveyed or not. Then you were assigned a place to set up camp. There are been a lot of changes and a totally different type of crowd that started joining. It’s not the quite fun hunt camp it used to be.
