Thinking about getting my neighbors 500 06 Rubicon. It's been n my yard 2 years. I was last one ride it around yard. Throwing code 5 and 11 not shifting offer him 1500 for it. Only thing I don't like is when shifting gears it drive n reverse it grinds then clunk. Do all do that do shift in fast slow I not sure .I got ole trusty 99 300 4x4 I ride faithfully. Thinks

Total 1.25 My 1.25 is just inside recreation gate, so I just camp in temporary area once in awhile, I can just leave if Hurricane or Forest fire coming, I would like a camp lot, but just too expensive nowadays, Im 66 , planning on selling primary home in Hillsborough county, one day, and travel in rv and use temp camp when not traveling, I like the new way,some don't , it's atv paradise, but prefer wildlife management areas for what little hunting I do nowadays, rrpoa is awesome for off grid camping, camping, camping, LOL

In 2016 we purchased a can am outlander max xt thinking we may be doing trails. Nope! Want to downsize and am focused in on a 420 es dct. We only go for rides on 3 miles of dirt roads and plow snow in winter on mine and other gravel driveways. My biggest decision is for reliability! I would prefer an automatic to get away from cvt. I maintain perfectly so would you say I have no worries with 420? Thanks

Rubicon 500 2004 model - noisy

Recently purchased an 04 less than 200 hours and the transmission grinds loud turning hard left, hard right. Runs & shifts going straight. I see the 04 Hondamatic transmission is a time bomb. Great. Just bought it and found this out. Where is the best place to buy a new transmission? Changing the fluids first. Guess this year had a defect? Hondamatic 04 are they garbage? Any insight would be helpful. Pig n a Poke?

I have the 02 rubicon 500. And i had 06 rubicon 500 engine. Question is can i swap the 06 engine to my 02 rubicon engine? And before i swap it, can i use the rear crank case cover of my 02 rubicon engine, so i can install the speed sensor. Please and thanks.

I’m having trouble removing the pin from the drive shaft. I unbolted the diff from the frame before trying to remove the pin. Was that a mistake.

Hey I just replaced the gasket and got it back together. Everything is good except reverse. You don’t have to push the button and squeeze the brake it just goes straight to reverse after neutral. Any ideas what I might if done wrong?

Would be helpful if the camera person would direct the camera to what you are working on.

Do you have to pull the engine off the frame or can you do it on the frame?

I am reassembling this engine a year after I disassembled. I have a split ring with a metal cup. It appears to be a shaft retainer. I can't find the part in the OEM parts explosion. Might you know where it goes?

I am rebuilding a trx500fa6. The main roller bearing is a 80*50*18. Parts diagram calls out a 80*40*18. The original crank and the replacement are 40mm. The original crank did not have a spacer so there is no way the crank was supported by the main bearing. Have you ever seen this?

I have a 06 with the hondamatic that I was given. They stated that it ran but would not move or go into any gear. You can put it in gear and push it freely but will not go on it own free will. So I changed the oil to see if there was any junk in it but I do believe the oil was changed before I got it. With that said I found a small spring that came out of the oil from the rear of the engine oil plug after I drained it. I was looking for advice here before I get over my head pulling a engine for a loader cause

Got a question, I had to replace some broken gears in my 06 rubicon when putting the shift fork tumbler back is the line on the shift bar sprocket (dont know the proper term sorry) that turns the tumbler suppose to be vertical in neutral?

My awd will work sometimes then other times it won’t work. I’ve tried at slow speed and high speed with rear tires spinning. Anything in the diff that could fail to cause my problem?
