Rumors about the cancellation of the reboot continue and now this is the possible reason why Netflix rejected Hasbro's proposal. The future of Power Rangers is still at risk and maybe with this new proposal everything is going to end badly.
Power Rangers is an American television series and franchise of the tokusatsu genre, version of Super Sentai Series, a Japanese television series of the same genre. It has been broadcast since 1993. From 2002 to 2009, the franchise was owned by The Walt Disney Company, but was reacquired in 2010 by Haim Saban, its creator and original driving force between Mighty Morphin and Wild Force (the latter created early in production before the sale of Saban Entertainment to Disney). On May 1, 2018, it was confirmed that the franchise was bought by Hasbro.

Technically, they can continue the story by making a semi-remake, semi-reboot of the series and adapt other Sentai shows, for example adapting Dairengers, Kiraregers and others.
Right? They should do a remake and then if it works, they take the story in new directions
We don't need a remake. We want something new, that's where the excitement comes from. If they want to remake it then make that a cartoon for children. You think they would want to breath new life into the series.
Disney Already did a Remake called Revision with the Seisure Filters on to Old Footage.
Or the reversion was the precursor in creating the mmpr comics & lord Drakkon character.
The reason they need a reboot instead of a remake is because if you’re going to create a multi-universe you can’t just wing the whole thing. Not even Marvel is doing that. The source material is over 30 successful seasons long. Ignoring that is silly and why the first reboot failed. The formula is right there.
I mean - here’s the thing: you’re absolutely correct that the majority of the “Power Rangers” audience presently, are adults and not children. With that said, I believe that if Hasbro “doubles down” on making the “Power Rangers” remake a children-centric entertainment property, all that’s going to do is cause the show widely miss the intended child audience, and instead really only attract adults who on average, are thirty to forty years old (fans of the original Zordon arc, by in large) - which also creates a bit of an awkward situation, as unless you’re at a convention or in an online forum of some sort - no adult fan of “Power Rangers” is going to say, bring that up on a Tinder date or otherwise when they’re out and about, due to it being deemed by many to be “odd” that an stilt would be into “Power Rangers” (since the vast majority of society doesn’t know about the outstanding BOOM! Comics saga, and instead only knows broadly about MMPR and its camp).
Thereby, it seems that the best thing that Hasbro can do is make the remake adult-centric, which will then potentially attract new fans to supplement the ranks of the longtime fans, which will also then help merchandise sales, etc.

it's really not just kids not watching TV anymore, it is where the content comes from now, and ADULTS consume the same amount as kids, with other forms of SOCIAL MEDIA out there. Tv AND Hollywood are in trouble because of this as well. it is like we don't need them anymore to be entertained, ANYONE can produce, film, act, and market their own content now. if it's being made, you can find it easily and much faster on RUclips.
I really don't understand why this is so hard. Create some new characters but keep the source material and what made things so popular and call it a day. No, you don't have to get actors that look like the original cast. You also don't have to make the characters the same as the original characters. So many rangers have come and gone it would be hard to do. Just make a good script to make sure the costumes stay close to the original costumes and be done. They need to hire one of those fan designers and not try to change it so much. The problem with the movie was they tried to change too much and copied Iron Man. You don't need to copy something else to make an already successful franchise successful.

If they want to do a remake do it on an anime format and adapt the comic since that's what young people are into and the comics are popular with fans.
As for live action and to save cost they should get with towing to do a serial to zuyranger and adapt that, bring back min and have her friends be the new rangers, plus this would be a good way to have Jenna be in the show as the new green ranger.

A reboot is not really needed once and allways was more mature and was very good. Also Netflix- Cosmic Fury was great! They could a series with old cast or a Billy series. How Billy build his company and more would be cool, also if continue search Zordon...
Continue once and always handing the batton to a new team guided by the old guard with Trini's Daughter and Jenna Frank for older fans and a remake for new fans with a badass cast who can do these Epic Characters justice and a crossover in the future

Mighty Morphin was already good, There’s no point in making a reboot if you have 30 seasons and a lot of comics, ALONG with skipped sentai seasons to adapt.
Cancel the Power Rangers remake and just concentrate on doing The Adventures of Pudgy Pig. That would be a smash hit!

You make a good point because of the remake will be a kids thing again, but the reboots gonna be in an adult teenage thing again because let’s say if they collide with them and do it like both like the remake and the reboot together that will be like to start the whole thing all over again, but not all over again. I don't see the need to remake MMPR, especially when originality was their first goal.
Why not just carry on with Once and Always and use it for other teams, same effect and the ability to add items like new teams as well.
Following the death of the greatest Human Power Ranger, Tommy Oliver, by a new monster, evil is set to spread across the universe and he can begin tra king down the next threat.
By reviving the legendary evil bosses, the new monster could release Zedd.
The threat he's after has been chosen by the Grid for two teams: a modified Dairanger and Knights, when the Legendary invasion happens, Billy, Andros and Bridge sacrifice themselves when they realise who the target is when their morpher is destroyed. The invasion lasts two episodes, the target, Billy, Bridge and Andros become friends, so when they're destroyed it sets the hero up for vengeance with a new power.
The new power is Military, this leads to Bulk and Skull returning as resistance leaders infiltrating empires on Earth to retake them, leading to a final battle on Eltar.
The numbers are against them, so the grid decides to reboot bringing back those that died during the invasion and uses androids to fill in for Rangers without users, Zordon returns as an adapted Zenkaiger (First Ranger), this also includes their Megazords and a remixed MMPR song using other teams music for their scenes, with a long guitar solo intro for about 5 seconds before the clash.
