    What do you think about the recall on the different eyedrop brands? I was just given artificial tears for dry eyes, but I have not used it yet because I am waiting for the final recall. However, I am thinking about going to the science lab at the university and have my new drops tested.

    Quick notes: Everyone should be using zero preservatives. It's just like eating stuff, but even worse because it's in your eye. It may help to keep it in the fridge for that. Respect use by dates as they will help you know if it's kept for too long, or it won't be as effective.
    Turning down screen brightness, taking breaks, and using screens for less time can also help (unless you have learned it or consciously do, you will blink 10x slower when looking at a screen. You also need to give your lens muscles a stretch after being stuck in one position.

    I have a query.. Is IPL used for skin is same, ipl used for dry eye?
    I mean if someone get IPL treatment for skin rejuvenation and fine lines around eyes, so as a side effect, can it cure meibomian gland dysfunction?
    Actually in my country, there's only IPL treatment available in dermatologist's office but not in opthamologist's office..
    There is only radio frequency treatment available for treatment of mgd.

    Thank you for the tips, doc! As you mentioned the visible red veins in the eyes. How to get rid of them?
    I have dry eyes and they’re permanently in my eyes. In the morning, when I wake up, they appear less. But when I go out , the wind and cold air make them really red. I’m on Xiidra and EYsuVIS for a week, along of using Refresh Celluvisc, Digital PF and Relieva PF.
    I know we need eyes protection when we go out but I live in Seattle- it’s rainy and cloudy so sunglasses aren’t useful in winter here.
    I ordered Stoggles 👓 ( still waiting for the delivery) which have blue light blocking. I’m considering to wear them on the daily basic cause I work in indoor cold, dry air condition. I’d like to know if it helps. Thank you!

    Hi Doc. 3 quick questions here: 1) Before using the punctal block technique, do you recommend washing or cleaning the skin on/around the bridge of the nose to prevent the eyedrop washing whatever germs are there from potentially getting rinsed into the eye? 2) When performing the punctal block technique, are you pushing straight posteriorly towards the lacrimal caruncle or posteriorly and downwards (or any other direction)? 3) Can you post a video which shows the best way to make the most absorption of an antibiotic eyedrop? Thanks!

    You can’t use the eye drops after the expiration date so using the devise to save more drops doesn’t seem to be beneficial if the eye drops needs to be thrown out after a certain amount of days after being opened, not talking about the expiration date on the bottom of the bottle which means the date it expires before you open it.

    What if you are using 2 different types of eye drops (for the same condition, which is glaucoma)? I'm using 1 type of eye drops, but my iop keeps going up, so I might have to use 2 different types of eye drops in the near future. How long do you wait to put in the second eye drops?

    • @DrEyeGuy
      @DrEyeGuy  Год назад

      Great question! You usually want to wait 15 minutes before you put the second drop in.

    I cannot pull down my eye lid or touch my eye. Everything about it makes me nervous and a little sick. The best I can do is to put the drop in the corner of my eye, eye closed and then open it to distribute the drop. :>(((

    You did me a bad disservice by pushing the nano dropper. I bought two of them because I have two vials and then I find out they’re single use and for the cost is outrageous. Why didn’t you say this is only for one time use per bottle I wouldn’t spend the money to buy them.

    • @DrEyeGuy
      @DrEyeGuy  Год назад +1

      Sorry about that, I didn't mean to "push" it on you. I really am trying to help. There are some people that pay $100 or month on their eye drops, and this can almost double the life of the drops and would make it worth it. As a company, they must say the cleaning techniques have not been studied by the FDA for reuse, so they are required to say it is single use at this time.

    • @sylvierelentless1
      @sylvierelentless1 Год назад

      Dr. EyeGuy did NOT do a bad disservice by "mentioning" (he did NOT "push") the nano dropper. I have been using the nanodropper for well over a year now and you do NOT have to use a new one each time. YOU are doing the disservice here if anyone is doing that! Using the nanodropper allows me to get three months use from one bottle that is normally only good for one month or even less (using the same nanodropper)!!!! That is amazing and saves LOTS of money - literally hundreds of dollars, thousands over the years!
      And yes, Dr. EyeGuy is right about companies HAVING to say certain things so they don't get sued. Unfortunately, that is the society in which we are living these days. You are doing yourself a "disservice" here and to anyone who might be discouraged to use a nano dropper because of your statements. I pray that nano dropper stays around and isn't put out of business by the pharma companies who have NO interest in selling less eye drops and making less $$$$ ,which is ultimately what the nano dropper does - lets the consumer use less product thereby saving them lots of money.
      Even MORE important than saving consumers lots of money, is the fact that the more medication you use the higher the likelihood that you will experience negative side effects. The nanodropper makes sure you not only don't waste eyedrops but that you don't put more medication in your eyes than is required and healthy for you. The nanodropper limits the amount of medication in your eyes to the maximum your eyes can take, and thereby helps to limit any bad side effects.
      Using a nanodropper is better for your pocket book and more importantly, your health. Things that are in opposition with what the pharma companies are interested in - making profits and selling as much medication as possible. And, NO I have absolutely no affiliation with nano dropper what so ever. I am just a very grateful consumer to have found such a wonderful product and hope that the pharma companies do NOT put them out of business.
