Dr EyeGuy, this is pure genius! I've never been able to get an eyedrops in without a few missed drops all over my face...ever in my life lol! But with your simple to follow tips, I get a bullseye every time - now it's done in maybe 30seconds for both eyes, including the tissue dab. It used to take forever. This really helps because I take eye drops four times a day for glaucoma and I know I have to wait at least 5 minutes in between my eye drops to put each one in.

What are your thoughts of Restasis eye drops for dry eyes? It is very expensive and wanted to know if it is worth it? Should I try some other dry eye techniques first and see if that help before using Restasis?

I'm 5 days into a 10 day 3 times a day treatment . I don't think I hit the eye the first day and half. The drops hardly came out.

If you are getting it in your eye than it sounds like you are doing it right. I'll have to look into a video about maekup... I don't know a whole lot about makeup. 😄
Regarding using the pocket formed by pulling down lower eyelid, is it ok if I don’t do it that way? I actually found it a lot easier to pull up my upper eyelid and I have no problem aiming the drops. Will this make the absorption not as good as the lower lid way? Where on the eye do medications “penetrate” best? Is it the inside of lower eyelid? Or any surface on the eye is ok? Thanks very much.
Great question, as long as you get it in the eye, it works all the same no matter how or where you get the drop in. Sounds like you found your way, I would keep doing it like that.

I got confuse. I'm using eyedrop for my dry eyes. Using it for almost 11 months now. I just tilt my head, apply the eyedrop directly on the colored part of the eye without holding my lower eyelid. Eyes open without blinking for couple of seconds and DONE! Am I instilling it the wrong way?
No way, you are doing great. As long as you are getting the drop in there. Some people can't do that because they flinch too much.

It's usually a good idea to do punctual occlusion, keeps the drop on the eye longer, and keeps it from getting washed down.
@@DrEyeGuy So dropping eye medications (I use glaucoma medications) directly into the eye surface (on top of the cornea) won’t hurt the cornea, right? I do it that way because I can’t get the drops in the lower lid pocket…… I’m also using steroid gel (not ointment) after cataract surgery. It is also ok to drop the thicker gel directly onto the cornea surface?
@@ceciliahuang3984 Yes, that is fine. Just make sure you don't touch the tip of the bottle to the eye/cornea.

I have two questions is using dry eye drops daily bad? And if I put more than one eye drop is bad? Because one won't get in 😭😭
If you are using preservative free tears, that is much better to be using every day. Multiple times a day use of preservatives can irritate the eyes. Getting 2 drops in is ok... mainly because the eye will blink out the excess tears...so you will probably waste more tears.

Show us how to place eye drops in both eyes It will be harder. Taking eye drops for 30 years for glaucoma. There is a much simpler way to take eye drops. By hand or with an apparatus!
