If you can spare the provisioner tokens, I recommend picking up Bloodbound weapons that your chosen class will use. They cost 10 provisioner tokens, and they scale in level with the level of your character. They are also better than any other similar weapon below level 80. They are account bound, so you only have to buy them once, and put them back in the bank before you delete your character. You can then give them to the next key farmer. Bloodbound weapons are also great if you are leveling a character up to 80.

  • @quiquaequod322

I do a weekly key farm up to the level 40 story key (2 keys). I stop there because, unlike the level 10 and 60 keys, the level 40 key is given at the start of the story, not the end. For those using human commoner, I recommend the "dead sister" option in character creation if you are going to level 40.

@@Sarcaustik Yes, its "disposable" alt for weekly key farm. Meaning new weekly reset = you make new alt and level it to 10 or 40 like quiquae and then delete it and w8 for next week. Or if you have time can also just level it to 80 over the week and do other "free key" stuff. That's what i usually do nowadays, just level up alt to 40 and then do weekly WV, and if i dont play sth else play that alt for extra keys as i stopped grinding non stop for "best gold farm" spots (my brain is permamently damaged from gw2 gold farming, too much time spent there, could've just swiped.....)

There's another easy one to get too, if you don't have it yet, and that's the Living World season two episode, 'Tangled Paths'. It's a VERY quick (one of the three missions is literally have two conversations) level 80 story chapter that rewards a guaranteed black lion key. You can do that on all your level 80 characters. The two missions that actually have something to do are relatively easy (once you learn the path through the maze).
Also, for the human starter area, you can just jump down the hill to the side of the fort and run back up the other side to be immediately at the area where you fight the elemental and skip the centaur defense stuff.

  • @isty4491
    @isty4491 11 месяцев назад +5

Dont use Tomes of Knowledge, just fly, run, ride around the starter zones, Queensdale, Caldeon, Ashford, Metrica and Wayfarer, etc you wont need all 6 for level 10, maybe just 1 (Lions Arch also good for this, but the cities themselves feel slower than the starter zones)
Im not saying do all the HP (but they do award XP ofc) im just talking about discovery XP for areas, POIs, WPs etc - You wont even need to do all of these if all you want is level 10
YMMV depending on account XP bonuses etc
I just levelled a char to 80 doing this (though i did include HPs obviously), and it really doesnt take long, and in my case i wanted the maps unlocked anyway, i got to 80 before i even hit any level 30-40 map
This is besides the point of this video of course, im just pointing out how easy it is, unfortunately i didnt pay attention to how much exploring i did to get to 10, 20 etc, but its very fast
    Hope this helps someone
EDIT ADDITION, i just realised as soon as i hit "Post" that if you can get to EoD zones, you can jsut take the Raptor Taxis around, im not saying tis faster, but its more hands-off for people busy irl, or at work etc

I love this farm. I've been doing it nearly every week for years, and it's given a ton of keys. Getting to the second guaranteed key from the level 40 story is still pretty fast, and the extra shot at a key from exploring Bloodstone Fen makes it worth using the tomes/scrolls of experience to get to lvl 80 every week (of course this might not be viable for every player, depending on how many of these tomes you have piled up). After the key farm I like to park the character at a JP or flax farm for the rest of the week, to get some extra daily value out of the "occupied" character slot.

I knew about the level 10 story weekly key rush, but not the other guaranteed keys. So thanks for mentioning those!
To be fair, I rarely ever do the level 10 rush because I find it not all that worthwhile for a key that may just give me the black lion ticket scrap that I need 10 of before I can get a weapon, maybe a trinket that is worth only 1 gold, or maybe a wardrobe unlock. I'm not that fond of gambling in the first place as my general luck when it comes to these things is pretty bad.
I usually get plenty of keys from just map completion and as someone who enjoys doing that for me those keys are enough and usually it is a nice surprise to get a key from just playing the game.

@@lavenderloveeAs Phandrel mentioned in the video, it is a 30% chance to get it from map completion, but when you have 35 characters and have done total complete map completion across 18 of them (so far), you end up with quite a few keys. I just really enjoy exploration in the game so map completion isn't an issue for me personally.
I totally understand where you are coming from though and a guarantee key is really nice and relatively fast to grab. In my case, I just don't see the justification to go specifically after a single key though, since there is very rarely anything in the chests that I actually want that is actually obtainable for someone with terrible luck like me. I've accepted that the super rare stuff like the permanent bank item and its like will never drop for me, so getting a key from playing the game is just a nice bonus to maybe get a wardrobe unlock item.

You should add that the LS2 chapter of Silverwastes (into the laberynth) gives 1 key, it takes 15m max if u know the route (the first and second time maybe you take more time since is the first time you do). In first instance go back and u will see a flamethrower. It speed up that instance a lot. Also the 2nd instance (the last one) you can check map in wiki. There is a (perhaps "suboptimal") farm that I enjoy from time to time between updates - create a character (human commoner, missing parents) then immediately go to home instance to buy better-than-starter-armor and weapons, then travel to guild hall to hit the armor anvil and grab an xp buff from the tavern. While there, sit in a novelty chair for 5 minutes while you customize your appearance and consume any other xp buffs. exit guild hall to tutorial and skip to the end by running directly to the elemental. Now complete Queensdale, Kessex Hills and Harathi Hinterlands to reach level 50 (Adventurer Guide achievements really help) *before* starting the personal story. You can reach lvl 60 in time to get to Claw Island - a number of the story missions can even be 'skipped' by rushing to the end and triggering cutscenes.
Total run time is around 7-8 hours at most ((not a race but a marathon)) and if you do this run 1/day every day for a week you will get 15 Black Lion keys plus any extra from map completion and rare loot drops.

dumb comparison. This is not "grind this for 1 hour straight to make some gold" path, this is just weekly thing you can do for extra free key if you bother to waste 10-15mins (depending how fast you're can be even faster). So do your hourly grind for 30g/h and then do this along side your WV weeklies.
