That's what I just bought! Cartrimhome needs to make a set of TRD in gray to switch out the red TRD.
May want to add you need to take front front bracket supports off for old kdss skid plate. We didnt and took a minute before we figured that out.

What years need to have the braces removed? Seems like some people leave them on some kdss models
I had the same issue today. Gave up and put everything original back lol gonna try again tomorrow. I didn’t know we could take the arms off as i thought they are crucial for protection.
Are you talking about the s shaped brackets? Well that void the warranty or affect the structure?

better then OEM but the front bolts need to have a internal star fastener installed before you try and install the skid plate.

skid plate at :44 is missing a front bolt.
This is way better then Oem Pro Skid Plate...it has the opening for the filter

Amber or white it'll definitely look better with a light bar, however it's wise to focus more on the functionality than a mere looks when it comes to the colour of the lights. In my humble opinion. Mine is clear since my spotties and A-pillars are amber (Baja design)
What are the blue bushings you're using on the sway bar? Never seen those.
It’s from dr kdss. It fixes the articulation of the sway bar so you don’t get premature wearing from the joints (from a 2” lift)
Have you done an oil change yet? If so, how was it using that oil filter access? Thinking it might be worth it just for that reason alone.
It’s one of the main reasons why I love this. It’s so convenient
KDSS nice for what its meant to do. Harder to modify the 4 Runner or add bolt on's. Haha😅

It's an overrated feature It only works on turns. Terrible for crawling. Perfect for going to the market though
Have you gone off roading with this skid plate? When I installed mine with kdss, I wasn’t comfortable with how close the plate was to the hydraulic piston of the kdss when the suspension was articulated. Wound up just sticking with the stock skid plate.
Yes we have. Everything is fine. We did end up adding spacers so it would line up with our skids. That helped flushed the plate to the skids and gave clearance for the kdss

Do have any kind of KDSS drop spacers? I have the treaty oaks on but when I installed the cartrimhome skid plate, it’s was very close to touching the KDSS piston
We ended up getting longer bolts and adding a few spacers. Much better fit now
What is thd bolt length you used and size to allow piston clearance ? How much spacer length did you need to allow for the new bolt.

What is KDSS and how do we know if we need with or without it when we order a skid plate?
Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (KDSS) is an advanced automotive suspension technology primarily used in off-road and sport utility vehicles (SUVs). KDSS is designed to improve both on-road comfort and off-road performance by automatically adjusting the suspension settings. To determine if your vehicle is equipped with the Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (KDSS), you can follow these steps:
Check Your Vehicle's Manual: The owner's manual or user's guide that came with your vehicle should provide information about the features and specifications of your specific model. Look for any mention of KDSS in the manual.
Contact the Manufacturer: If you don't have access to the owner's manual or if it doesn't provide clear information about your vehicle's features, you can contact the manufacturer's customer support or visit their official website. They may have a feature lookup tool where you can enter your vehicle's VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) to get details about its equipment, including whether it has KDSS.

What if you have a diff drob kit with spacers do you just double them up at that point
Yeah you can. You can get a longer screw and just add spacers
Does the OEM leave the open gap on the top between the radiator?
No oem does not bc it has a cover on it but the cover does not fit with trd skid plate so it’s open. Just found that out with my install .. not a fan of open radiator like that

No we didn’t have to take off any brackets to make fit. We did have to get extended bolts and a spacer. I have a link in the video description

No we didn’t have to remove the 2 brackets.
After speaking with Cartrim home and some forums I decided to remove them. It fit much better then.
Figured it was recommended. Wondering what that was intention of those brackets though

I tried for an hour to make it fit with the brackets and it just would not fit. So yes I had to remove the brackets on a 2023 ORP. I kept them though incase I ever want to go back.

Cool video BUT, this aluminum skid plate, at 15 pounds, just looks cheap to me.
It’s an aluminum skid, you sacrifice weight for the amount of protection you need. Most people don’t wheel hard and this is enough protection plus it has a easy drain hole for oil changes. Get a steel skid from rci if you need more protection.

@OtzleeExplains just tried installing the skid plate, and the non kdss option does not work. Bolts are not long enough. You guys should do a install for non kdss 4runners
@@OM-bb4yp you ordered the non kdss option? do you have aftermarket skids? You might have to go to the hardware store to pickup some longer bolts.

The limited doesn’t come with kdss so you wouldn’t need to worry about this fix.
