I always wanted to build out the rear doors with an integrated curved shower rod that could retract into the doors. You open the rear doors, extend the curved bars, and drop your shower curtain. A small tankless hot water heater could be attached to a shower head on the rear doors, and voila! You've got a private shower area.
I love Blake's focus on his family, he could have just made a generic 'MTB Van' but he further customised it to spend time with his family, mad respect
The van build series is absolutely awesome and loving the down to earth silly bits. These episodes are the highlight of my week/months 😁. Your making me really want a van and do a conversion when the pennies start coming in. Keep up the awesome work and how to videos which I love 👌🏻
I know I will never do this or get a van, but still I just love this series thus far. I looked forward to episode 3. This is very exciting. I am super excited for you Blake.
Lots to be proud of at this stage, Blake. Awesome to see you boys undertaking to do such extensive custom work. Great update on the 'Transugatti' build to start off 2022!
We self-converted similar van a couple years ago. It was very time consuming and took lot longer than we thought. It is documented on PIIIA's RUclips channel.
In the Middle of watching this, im glad you tackled the cable. I converted the same model What a pain. So much so i just hid it in the cupboards. Looking forward to see how you guys tackle the massive curve at the front of the roof. Im getting supreme FOMO watching these, I might just have to rip some stuff out and do it again.. Brilliant Series!
The van build is going great. I used to have a van of my own and it did everything (including jumps, I had to beef up the suspension after I bent it a bit.......a lot. 🤪) Although I have a SUV now, I have had a pick up truck as well and the van, if you're looking for a Mountain Bike vehicle, then the van is the best option. Even without Blake's mods you can sleep in a van, carry all your gear and even on a minimal budget you can make it a great weekender.
I'm sure it's nice having the backing of GMBN but I feel like at this point Blake could do it on his own. I only really watch their videos because of him. You should start your own channel Blake!
What was the reason for the steel? Regulations/insurance, weight, cost or several reasons? I've seen van builds using aluminium, wood frames etc. I'm guessing it would be heavier and people normally have an easier time working with wood or fit together aluminium that steel/welding.
Split charge relay is not great on the transit, better with a battery to battery charger as they have a smart alternator. If you use FORScan or similar you can disabled smart alternator.
So you gave a cost break down to the tun of ~$9k, pretty reasonable. Could you give us an idea of the cost cost of the tools that Worx has provided you?
That slide out seat seems like it will rattle like a mofo. Might be worth gluing/affixing some kind felt/leather/etc.... to prevent metal on metal rattle.
Great job mate, love the series and the channel but i guess you should bolt the frames on the van instead of weld it. This big vans flex a lot belive it or not and i think in the end it will brake the frame welds to the chassis van😅
I do wonder whats going to happen to the fridge and it's contents after emergency braking with it mounted in the direction of travel 🤔Seriously though can't wait to see the rest of the series.
Really curious if the slide out bed is going to vibrate while riding the van... As the two box profiles have some play? Love the build, favorite Blake builds series so far!
hey man atleast u can get ur fingers in for the cable routing unlike bikes ive had success however routing without any special tools for the job but that was pure luck
I rebuild a large amount of mini’s! That one had loss of compression on cylinder 3, common issue, damaged piston. It’s all back together now! On to the next one!
Love it, but not the missing guard off the angle grinder at 19:18 and only wearing safety glasses. Guard on, full face shield and gloves should be used. I've seen a face with a grinding disc embedded in it and it is not pleasant. Get the mechanic a bloody bench and engine stand lol
What features would you have in your ultimate MTB van? Let us know 👇
Put a USB and plug I'm the shed part for any wireless gears and power meters
I’d have a miniature shop style section with an abundance of spare parts, perishables and cleaning products
I'd definitely fit a bike wash station, plenty of storage for spares and a TV with WiFi so you can watch GMBN at any given time!! 😉 😂👍
opening skylight in the roof for when Blake burns the toast or makes a nasty smell haha

Blake builds is by far one of the best series to follow on RUclips! Can't wait to see the next episode! 👍😁👍
Glad to see you hyped on the series @B Clarke! Watch this space!😉 Thanks for your comment!🤘
Thanks B Clarke. Stoked you love it

@@Zimblake absolutely awesome bud!! Follow all of the Blake build series 👍👍
Couldn't wait for this episode, can't wait for the next
Martyn is a very chilled out guy with contrasts with Blakes enthusiasm perfectly 😃
Feel like I’ve been waiting for this forever 😩 glad to see the progress 🤟🏾
It's finally here! Thanks for the support, Alex. Glad that you're stoked about the series! 🎉😅
Sorry dude. IT'S back
That window looks awesome. Blake must be stoked!
This series really opens your eyes to how much work goes into building a van. Great series. 👌
I'm not showing you half of it hahaha. so so much goes into building a van. I'm learning so much
About 3 months in total..
Blake’s brain is hurting!
Oh man! I was smirking throughout the whole episode! Blake, your excitement is infectious!
Duuuuude this van is dreamy. Love actually seeing the process of this build.
Thanks, Matty! Stay Tuned for more! 👀
Can't wait to see Blake's van finished 🤘
Plus hopefully we get to see Martyn's finished too 🤘
Great stuff Blake,Martyn and #GMBN 👊
Thanks Ross, I'm looking forward to the finished van as well. But I'm a long way off that still hahaha
Now that Martin has mentioned bloopers, I really hope GMBN do a bloopers episode at the end of the series 😁😁
I hope they do! It’s been hilarious!
I like watching his skills riding. But I LOVE his build series. Great job dude

This series is awesome! It makes me miss my old steel fabrication job and makes me want to build my own van!
I know I will never do this or get a van, but still I just love this series thus far. I looked forward to episode 3. This is very exciting. I am super excited for you Blake.

Cracking mate, can’t wait to see it complete. I was gutted when I realised I only had 2min left of this episode, a proper page Turner man 🤘🏼
Hurry up! Can't wait to see more! 😁
Greetings from Hanover.
I'm trying hahahahaha. Glad you're liking it. Cheers from UK
i would start to cry if i had to build stuff like this😂 respect!
Absolutely loving this series! Been hanging out for this episode, glad it's finally here!
We are loving building it!! 😎
Can't wait to see it completed and then there's the blooper video. Epic as always.
Fridge and cooker placement looks familiar! 💪🏻
Blake buils is the best!!!!
Can't wait to see the full build 💯✨😻
It's steadily taking shape with every episode, that's for sure! Stay Tuned!🤘

It’s a pain to do but well worth it!
Welds are getting good! Next step to upgrade the weld beads is to clean that steele before welding. Grinding and acetone!
Awesome update Blake. Get some magnetic strips for the bed extender to hold it in .cheap and safe
That is a bloody good idea. Thanks Nick.
Finally! Love this series 👍❤️
Now hurry up and get it finished Blake, can't wait that long again for the next episode! 🤣👍
There's a fair few more in the works!
Brilliant idea for a show. Loving watching as you work through this and can't wait to see how it turns out.
Thanks Charlie!
What a great series! Love to see the process and the explanation why certain choices where made! Looking forward to the next episode!
Very nice and inspiring! you might want to change the fridge door to open to the left :-)
Absolutely love these van build videos cant wait for the rest

Glad you like them Sam!
This is the best series ever!!
STOKED. Thanks
So hyped for the van builds series. Keep it up!
Thanks, Jayden! Stay tuned for the next one!👍
@@gmbn Sure thing!

I suggest you use the plank against the fridge as an outside table by using hinges to make it from vertical to horizontal 👍
I missed the van builds for a while
I actually don't really like this stuff 😕 😐
@@atomicshooter1115 I do not agree with you
Any recommendations for similar content 👀 🤔 😌
@@ergoyy6445 Any one can think whatever they want
@@ergoyy6445 Yes there are many videos on that topic on the single track sqmpler's channel 😀 🙌 👍 👌 👏 😄
Going to be awesome, but wow that van is going to be heavy with all that box section!
I can't wait that long again
Man I j love Blake he makes me so happy
We need!!!!! Episode 4 NOW…. Hanging out….
Stay Tuned! It's nearly here! 😅
Blake builds are the best series on gmbn absolutely love watching them👍🤘
Cheers Zac! Glad you enjoy them!
Brilliant video series!!! Keep them coming
Been loving these episodes 😁💪💪
Blake is fantastic!
"Show me how you put it in reverse?" Serious dad vibes here, from a patient mechanic who already knew what was wrong!
Really enjoying this. Can't wait for the next episode.
Phenomenal work!!
Brilliant Blake🤟
Can't wait for the next episode😁
blake builds is sick.
Roll on next episode!!
Been waiting so long for this
Only MTB video the Mrs will let me whatch on the big TV...she loves Blake and Matt Jones to be fair🧐
Good episode! Wiring anything is the worst job, I wouldn't want to do that
Thats so cool. Really want one myself :-)
ok so its official.....i have just become a life time fan!! great channel....quality
Welcome aboard Jimmy!
Lets agree that reversing is not Blake's forte 😂😂😂
Awesome job dude!!!🤘
😂😂😂true as I dented it on my first day
@@Zimblake been there, done that. My comment was on that but more so about the reversing lights... it cracked me 😂😂😂
@@Zimblake Blakey can't fakie...
Sick van I love the videos
Absolutely brilliant lads 🤟
Blake I've said it before, when are you getting your own DIY on Fox🙏🙏👊
Loving it!
Brilliant! Love it, love it 👌💥💥💥
You have probably finished it now but dont forget insulation on roof and walls and a ventialtion grill to cut down on condensation.
I would add the floor needs insulating as well... There is going to be a lot of thermal bridging due to that steel.
I'm yet to get to that point. But yes I'll be adding loads to the floor, walls and ceiling
@@Zimblake nice one.... Loving the build it looks great.
Great series ✌🏼❤️🍻
Inspirational...
Great built by the way. When your done you should weight the van
How are you guys mounting it all the the floor just normal welds and then bracing it on the sides?
Finally part 3 nice
What was the reason for the steel? Regulations/insurance, weight, cost or several reasons? I've seen van builds using aluminium, wood frames etc. I'm guessing it would be heavier and people normally have an easier time working with wood or fit together aluminium that steel/welding.
been waiting for this!!
You need to do a bloopers reel!
Aren't you adding any corrosion protection to all of these raw steel pieces? Like paint or zinc spray coating?
Yes I'll be painting it all up in the next episode.

Blake, how is the van build progressing? I’m curious
That slide out seat seems like it will rattle like a mofo. Might be worth gluing/affixing some kind felt/leather/etc.... to prevent metal on metal rattle.
Great job mate, love the series and the channel but i guess you should bolt the frames on the van instead of weld it.

Oh yesssss finallyyyyy
I do wonder whats going to happen to the fridge and it's contents after emergency braking with it mounted in the direction of travel 🤔Seriously though can't wait to see the rest of the series.
my thoughts also, or the beers will come flying under braking if the door does not lock :P
For next Xmas I'm getting you a good grinder, I've seen your welds 🤣
😆😆😆
Just a thought , have you weighed all that steel !
is the fridge 12v? if so, give us a link dude, that price seems unreal
Really curious if the slide out bed is going to vibrate while riding the van... As the two box profiles have some play?
Love the build, favorite Blake builds series so far!
That is a good point and I have taken that into consideration. Cheers.
We have a solution
hey man atleast u can get ur fingers in for the cable routing unlike bikes ive had success however routing without any special tools for the job but that was pure luck
whats going on with that Mini Cooper S in the workshop?
I rebuild a large amount of mini’s!
That one had loss of compression on cylinder 3, common issue, damaged piston.
It’s all back together now! On to the next one!
Did ya think of security in the windows. They look like people can break in the van.
It has a lock on the sliding part
Cool
Is martyn Jones a mountain biker? You guys need to do a riding video with him.
This could be dangerous! I do have a Nukeproof mega but not been out on it yet!
So no one gonna talk about 8:10min in?
Blake Welds
Hey Blake pro tip, instead of cutting all of your wires in the same place cut them staggered, that way you don't have a giant ball wadded up.
Also if they are staggered it's easier to discern which wires go to its respective mate.
Also highly don't recommend using a torch on heat shrink. Use a heat gun with a wire scoop.
I shouldn’t say this but I have to. Blake is the best GMBN presenter!
Love it, but not the missing guard off the angle grinder at 19:18 and only wearing safety glasses. Guard on, full face shield and gloves should be used. I've seen a face with a grinding disc embedded in it and it is not pleasant. Get the mechanic a bloody bench and engine stand lol
That's going to be massively heavy 😬
