I watched a guy hand a guitar to Randy Rhodes, then snapped a couple photos.
One week later, "Randy Rhodes' favorite guitar" was on sale for $15,000. Randy never owned it, never played it, never even signed it, yet this was his "favorite" guitar.
I was thinking there had to be some damage under that pick guard and then lost it laughing when the pics showed just how chewed up it really is. Hilarious. Hard to believe someone would do that to a custom shop

I sent that Les Paul in! Glad to see you feature it with the same reaction as me. Pure madness anyone would do that, madness the shop would buy it, madness theyd try and sell it for that much.

New content idea: Most Tragic Reverb Listings. That LP is easily #1. I'm a drummer and I freaking wept when I saw that abomination.
My wife to be does many art commissions and because of my love for guitars she has decided that soon she would like to take guitars and custom paint them. So when it comes to that Mario P-Bass I fully justify the price being $2000 since a lot of time and work goes into making beautiful art like that. It may not be for everyone but there is definitely a market for it.
Would be a better sell if the canvas was a Fender MiM at minimum instead of a Squier Affinity.
Maybe $200 dollars extra for the paint job but no way is it worth $1700 extra regardless of the time spent on it. If it takes you $1700 worth of time to do a piece like that then you are probably not a professional.
Really. Why invest that much time, effort on a squier. The buyer is mainly buying it for visuals so Fender would look way better. @kennethh2430
There are others commenting on here that actually do the work saying it's not even close to $2000. More like $500.

This episode definitely exceeded expectations. I think the Mario bass shop also had a Squier strat painted up with Warhol's Campbell's Soup Can for the same ching.

This is what I’ve been looking for
That LP reminds me of an LP I was checking out in the late 80s. I noticed it was way too light when I took it off the hanger. Once I looked at the back I saw the issue. There was a piece of "wood" that someone had used a piece of end table top laminate (with the photographed wood, like in the 70s) and hacksawed it into the body shape and screwed it on. To weight-relieve it they used a drill to hollow out almost the entire back of the guitar to various depths. Not like lots of holes. It was a giant cavity. ugh...
I love T-60's sound and look but theyre heavy AF on the shoulder.

On topic for a moment: I customise, paint, reshape and refinish guitars, pyrography, paint, etching, chisel…all manner of poop. I absolutely stand by anyone that is doing this and trying to sell, but be realistic with the prices people. Mario bass rocks ass, but it ain’t $2k

Place in Minneapolis was supposedly selling joe walsh's 59/60 les paul. Can only Imagine what it sold for
5th listing raises a very funny idea to me. Signature necks. Signature bodies. "Yeah I'm an Ibanez RG body signature artist and a Fender 70's Stratocaster neck signature artist.". Get me some signature tuners too!
Fluff, the bass version that you like is the T40 and if you want one I got 1 for sale 1978!!! Comes with the original case also with the velvet still in there.

Tag on the supposed Joe Walsh guitar says 'J. Walsh'... Joe isn't the only name that starts with J either, what if was Johnathan Walsh, Jeff Walsh, or Joseph Walsh, or any other J names out there for that matter? Or what if someone thought the airline would take better care of it if they thought it belonged to someone famous? There's all kinds of scenarios that could be why that tag is on that case...is it ever THE Joe Walsh's handwriting? Whoever listed that is gonna be waiting a long time to sell that one...Lol!

I saw this Peavey. The only provenance is a sticker on the case that says "Joe Walsh" written in ink.

Mickeys owner is probably a collector and not a player and never changed those 2 9 volts. Seen so many broken active guitars that were just dead batteries
If I had the extra funds, I could go for that Mickey Mouse guitar. That Les Paul was painful to see, take the EMG out and sell it on it's own then chop the guitar up for kindling.
As much as I don’t like Les Pauls, that is a crime against the Geneva Convention rules.
Oh, that poor Les Paul! I thought there was some drunken luithery that took place, or someone refused to pay for repairs... I hope for their sake, the shop listing it is only doing it on consignment... Even though that doesn't really make sense, it's the only thing that would make sense!
